It's the CFL, the summer is all about getting ready for the fall. What you do after labor day matters much more than what you do previously.

Can't wait till we can close this thread and start the regular season thread. No work stoppage, rookie camp is coming up and this team feels like it's loaded with talent.

The fear mongering was strong this time but there really was no doubt.

Jones didn't get hurt til game 3 and didn't see the field on defence at all so I really don't think he won the safety job. I believe that he had a good camp but there was never any doubt who would be starting at safety.

Anyone else super pumped that Streveler gets a full rookie and main camp this year? From what I recall he missed all (or most) of training camp last season, and next thing you know he’s impressing us as the starter in-relief. Pre-season hopes in full flight for this fan!

This is a lazy answer but I'm gonna say I am pumped to see Andrew Harris back on the field. The dude is just such a joy to watch. Remember in that win against Calgary, when he took a 1-yard toss from Nichols, straightarmed the first tackler, got to the outside, spun away from yet another tackler, and powered to a first down on a play that looked like an easy sack? I remember him play significantly in both pre-season games last year. I think it was Bennett that was a late add.

Their defense is going to give up a lot of points. Other than Burnham there isn't a real deep threat. Durant never was a full time starter with the Stamps & is really a possession receiver. He doesn't beat anyone deep. Maybe he'll have a break out season starting for the first time & with Reilly throwing the deep ball. Who knows what Carter can do as he is a total eff up.

I'm pumped if Whitehead can be a dynamic returner and take on the Dressler role in the offense.

I'd be shocked if Eli plays this year... I'm still looking at him like a bonus if he ever works out. But the potential is certainly there.

Nice to see Streveler showing up to rookie camp to get those reps in.
