If we stay relatively healthy, no reason to believe we can’t win 13 games. Play makers on both sides of the ball. Loving the way this team is looking.6 points -

Terrence Edwards mentored Chris Matthews. TE Wr Academy - The torch has officially been passed to @TheRealCMaTT13. I did the same for him, now it’s his turn to do it for another rookie who’s trying to learn our game! Now.. “Chris Matthews was the last player off the field today, spending nearly thirty minutes working with rookie receivers post practice.” Darren Cameron6 points -

that being said, we said going into the game don't turn the ball over the riders can't beat you, and that was the focus. At no point did I ever really feel like the Riders were going to actually win that game with their offense.6 points -

There will be good competition at back-up running back. Oliveira is an extremely angry runner but Augustine is no slouch either. Both broke off long runs today. Difference being...Oliveira will leave marks when you try to tackle him. #17 Mike Jones looked good. He broke up at least two passes. This season; Nichols to Matthews will be like shooting fish in a barrel. His reach can definitely compensate for a QB's inaccuracy. Corey Washington made a beautiful reception on a sideline pass that hung up a little too long and with a DB draped over him. #90 Choudja has a heck of a motor. Darvin dropped nothing. #12 Sean McGuire is a very accurate passer (quick hits-over the middle)5 points -

As mentioned, Neufeld and Harris were sitting out today. The first-team offence was : Matthews-Washington-Adams-Demski-Wolitarsky Bryant-Desjarlais-Couture-Gray-Hardrick Nichols at QB, Augustine at RB. I had a tougher time nailing down the second team offence, but it definitely had OIiveira at RB, Streveler at QB, Simonise and Petermann as receivers. Looked like the other receiver spots were Rasheed Bailey, Kenny Lawler, and Tim Wilson but I'm not 100% sure on those ones... I think they might have switched it up a couple times. The OL looked like Speller at centre, Koczwara at guard, and Briggs/Baker on at the tackle spots... couldn't see who else was at guard. I can't give you the defence at the moment, I was locked in on the offence most of the time. Derek Jones was definitely the #1 safety and he is looking slim, trim and healthy. Great to see. One thing I can say for certain is that we are going to be absolutely deadly in the redzone with both Darvin Adams and Chris Matthews. Already some chemistry developing between Nichols and Matthews. Wolitarsky looked great as well, Bauming tweeted out his huge catch to start off the practice. Hardrick grabbed the ball right after and tried to punt it into the crowd but it went straight up instead... that got a big laugh from everyone. Love that guy. I'm interested to see if we can find room for one of Larry Rose III or John Santiago... both looked really quick but they were not getting reps in the first two offence units. Rose III in particular I thought looked pretty dangerous. As expected, Bennett was running with the third team offence but surrendered some reps to McGuire as well. Sawyer Buettner actually got one rep which I was surprised to see. It was an overthrow that almost got picked but good for the kid getting some action in. Should be lots of good competition at returner and the hands team gets a boost with the additions of Chris Matthews and Willie Jefferson... yes Willie Jefferson. 6'6" with receiver experence and he was getting some reps in on specials. The returner competition looked like it involves Charles Nelson, Lucky Whitehead, and John Santiago.... definitely a few other guys back there too but it was hard to see exactly who. Nic Demski is still involved as well. Overall it was very much a "day 1" outing... hard to get a good read on anyone and it's wise not to jump to any conclusions. The starters looked best.... Wolitarsky, Nichols, Matthews, Adams. Augustine looked comfortable at RB and Oliveira is going to have to win that backup job from him... don't see Augustine letting go without a fight. If I had to pick one new receiver who showed well it would be Kenny Lawler... looks like he has pretty good hands and I like his build as well... looks like a pro receiver to me. Nice day for some football. Noticed they have ripped all the seats out in the northeast and southeast corners in the lower bowl. Not sure what that's all about.5 points

I have to believe that sooner or later we will start to see a decline in A.H's abilities and perhaps it begins to happen this year. It could show up in reduced touches in an effort to better balance the O. or through more games lost to injuries, but inevitably it's going to happen as he can't be expected to perform at super-human levels forever. The timing of his decline would be quite manageable this year with Augustine and Oliveira in place to back him up, transitioning to eventually replace him in a couple of years.4 points -

Make no mistake the O line will be the deciding factor on what this team does in both the running and passing game, if they fill the holes left by Goosen and Chung and they can jell quickly the Bombers have more than enough weapons to feed the scoreboard, I have no worries about the D and ST's.3 points -

Good on you. That is pretty big task- a entertaining one... but a marathon nonetheless. Just finished watching.... I am good with the ending. My only criticism, is the fact they should have had more time develops the last season... It hit all the right beats and such... but I didn't feel as emotionally invested as I have been in past seasons... The one really really good part for me, was Brienn making the entry in the book of knights. That was really well done.3 points -

“I got a lot out of the (NFL experience), but there was a point last fall where I made a decision this is where I’d turn my focus. It took a while to work things out contract-wise, but this is exactly where I want to be," - Geoff Gray "You can already feel the team mentality here, even with it being early on. Everyone’s here to win a job, but everyone’s here to make the organization better for that ultimate goal. It’s a great atmosphere." Bombers head coach Mike O’Shea was candid about his affinity for the local guy. "He’s extremely athletic, he’s very strong in the weight room, (he’s) got a lot of flexibility. He’s got a lot of bend for an offensive lineman," O’Shea said. "Super smart guy. He’s as smart as they come, so he learns easy. "He’s a rare combination of just his size, his athleticism, his strength and his intelligence. So, you look for him to really contest for a spot." https://www.winnipegfreepress.com/sports/football/bombers/gray-readyto-rock-for-blue-510100662.html3 points

Tariq Lachance His shot with the Bombers actually began by his asking Bisons coach Brian Dobie for a favour. “I didn’t want to give up, so I gave Coach a shout and told him (the regional combine) is something I really wanted,” Lachance said. “When we parted ways I was still in school and was in the process of trying to transfer… the way it worked out it ended up being too costly. I dropped out of school, kept training and when I found out about the regional combine I said, ‘Is there any way you can help me get into the regional (combine)?’ He said ‘For sure. 100 percent. Let me check and get back to you.’ A few weeks later I got my letter from the CFL saying I had been invited to the regional combine.” 👁🗨Brian Dobie = good dude. https://www.bluebombers.com/2019/05/20/tariq-lachance-making-second-chance/?utm_source=dlvr.it2 points

Gavino Borquez@GavinoBorquez The Chargers may have gotten a hidden gem in former Minnesota DT Steven Richardson as an UDFA. At one point, I was a slightly high on him. Undersized, but motor always runs hot, decent counters, wins a lot with his natural low pad level.2 points

Really excited to see what he can do up here with a full camp. All the potential in the world could be a T or a G. Also, love the idea of Desjarlais and Gray both playing first-team reps at guard. Head to head battle for a guard/reserve spot while shoulder to shoulder in the trenches. That's just great coaching.2 points

Funny story. When Jefferson signed his contract, it was Nichols who threw him the pen. It took him awhile to finish signing, but now that he has, he’s our character. Well, some of this could be true. 😜😳 🤓2 points -
The Bombers training camp roster features 93 names, not including the non-counters like the three Winnipeg Rifles players – LB Cole Sneesby, RB Brandon Urcluoli and DB Troy Wilson – and CFL/U Sports QB Apprentice Sawyer Buettner of the University of Ottawa. Bombers training camp is loaded with local products who played their high school or college ball here: Andrew Harris, Oliveira, Nic Demski, Thomas Miles, Geoff Gray, Abu Conteh, DJ Lalama, Tariq Lachance and Dylan Schrot. The Bombers have a vacancy at the weak-side linebacker spot after Jovan Santos-Knox signed with the Edmonton Eskimos this offseason. That leaves Kyrie Wilson as the front-runner to replace him. “Kyrie has been in the ranks,” said Bighill. “He’s been learning, he’s been working hard, he’s been focused. I love the way he prepares and approaches the game. From there it’s his time to show he can do it and I’m going to be right there helping him. I’m excited to see what he can do.” https://www.bluebombers.com/2019/05/19/notes-camp-day-1-recap/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter Matthews, Jefferson making a big impact: Chris Matthews approached a wall of media, and just before the red lights of the cameras came on and microphones were thrust into his face, took a moment to shake everyone’s hand. - Ed Tait2 points

No surprise here but I am going to be watching to see which QB wants to be the leader of the team. Does Big Chris emerge and create an amazing story line for the season, or does Matt create the story line an take total ownership of the direction of the team ....... that and I hope none of the QB's need to rely on dumping the ball off too much to Harris and they end up wearing him out prematurely...1 point -
