Every year we can keep O'Shea from heading back to Southern Ontario is a win. No reason to get rid of any of that core group of President, GM, Head Coach. None of them are on the hot seat. The team is always ready to play and has been since 2014. The continuity has and will continue to allow the team to build talented rosters. We literally haven't been able to attract the level of free agent we've attracted yearly from 2016 on since the early 90's.6 points -
you all ever tend to think that maybe they are giving Hecth all this work to play himself off the team, or prove he isn't starter calibre..and giving Jones a bit more recovery time and less wear on his knee???...from all accounts and what was said in off-season Jones was their guy...i doubt that has changed5 points

Even without a Grey Cup I wouldn't be firing these guys. They have built a team that top players want to play for, they have built a system where our top players are in demand from other teams.... Why are we in a hurry to blow that up just because they haven't hit the jackpot with a cup yet? Stability matters when the group in charge is doing more good than bad. You fire people when it's actively hurting the long term prospects of the team, but these guys are building a hell of a strong foundation here, one that we haven't seen since the 90s.5 points -

The only way Miller, Walters & O'Shea are broken up is if one or more of them leave to go elsewhere. They deserve the accolades as they have built this team up to be a Grey Cup contender. They are in no danger of being fired.5 points -
“We’ve got a lot of talent in this camp and that’s what’s exciting to see,” said Bighill. “We’ve got a lot of competition going on. The rookies are learning at a fast pace and we’re working extremely hard. We’re working hard to get better and we’re starting at a high level because of the continuity we already have in our defensive room.” Asked if any of the new guys in particular is jumping out, Bighill said he could name a lot of guys and then referenced draft picks Connor Griffiths and Tariq Lachance along with import defensive tackle Steven Richardson and then said that in the secondary “we’re always making plays.” Standing out: Chandler Fenner, who has been working at wide-side corner; SB Nic Demski; RB John Santiago; DT Steven Richardson… O’Shea was asked about the OL’s collective personality and how it ‘drove the team’ over the last few years but has now lost two players in Matthias Goossen and Sukh Chungh. “Still does. Still does. Not worried about it. Still does. These guys get it. Michael Couture and Cody Speller… they’ve been here and they understand it and they’re those type of guys.” https://www.bluebombers.com/2019/05/22/noted-camp-day-4-recap/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter5 points

Not a bad article from....Paul Friesen. The Canadian-import player ratio is getting a tweak in the new collective bargaining agreement ratified by the CFL and the players union on Wednesday. It’ll take effect in the 2020 season. That’ll give coaches and GMs some time to get their heads wrapped around it — and they’ll need it. Bombers Chad Rempel described the new rule as a way for veteran Americans to become, essentially, non-imports. Those who qualify have to be with the same team for three years, or in the CFL for four. But the rule requiring each team to start seven natural Canadians remains in effect. Teams will have the option of adding three qualifying Americans, for a total of 10 “non-import” spots. Those qualifying American players may also be backups who go into a game to replace injured starting Canadians. Until now, teams had to have a Canadian backup to replace a Canadian starter. “So it provides more depth,” Rempel said. “When there is an injury, you’re not required to just replace a Canadian with a Canadian. It can be basically anybody. So the quality of play should go up. You’re not handcuffing GM’s.” “We’re continuing to work on the language around that to make sure it’s not abused.” https://winnipegsun.com/sports/football/cfl/winnipeg-bluebombers/cfl-to-try-veteran-american-ratio#click=https://t.co/4Mh9G0rdB54 points

it's not that black and white....I don't think there's any reason to get rid of any of The Trinity at this point. We'll see how the year goes, but I can't imagine a scenario where we don't desperately want all 3 back...4 points

yeah dumping any at this junture is foolish...It's like Fenner said...everything is in place and it's up to them to execute and win the cup...nothing short of that...and I agree...through drafting..free agency, over all team management and league wide image/perception these guys have hit a slam dunk...now it's time for the players to finish it...the window is now..get that first one and see what happens around here and it will most likely result in multiple appearances and hopefully wins3 points

I would be happy if Andrew Harris spends the entire camp in his civvies and rides the pine for both preseason games. There is zero gain in him doing anything until the games start to count.3 points

I'm not sure Hecht is a HUGE drop off from Loffler, certainly is a bit. But he plays a similar style, which is what bothers me more. I was hoping to see a Safety that would be more involved with coverage rather then run help. But it's still TC and I'm sure we will see both guys on the field a lot depending on the situation.2 points -

TrueBlue4ever and one other reacted to wbbfan for a topic
Thanks. Yeah I mean if you could get jones at 25 and start a franchise with him everything is possible. He got a real late start to starting (29 iirc) and stood behind some awful OLs. Loved kharis heart, and his active role in the city. For a while he was prince of the peg, its a shame he never got a ring here, and that it didnt last longer. Some careers just burn with an intense light rather then length. If it wasnt for khari jones and jack jacobs we wouldnt have a blue bombers training camp going on right now. They may not be the GOAT, but they are MVPs for the franchise.2 points -
