  1. Congrats -- sincerely wish he'd have been able to get his ring in 2007. Shame he never got the opportunity to play in that GC.

  2. I was wondering who'd be this years player the fans love to complain about. Hecht is winning the 'Sam Hurl' award this year for sure.

  4. I really don't care what Rider fans post on their board, nor do most people on this site. What matters here is what you bring and post on this board. Do you think coming to a Bomber website and making claims of collusion in favour of the Bombers from the CFL commissioner would get any reaction other then the one you were getting? I'm pretty sure you knew exactly what you were doing here and got exactly the reaction you wanted. Then feign innocence and saying it is odd when you get "jumped on". In fact, coming from a Rider fan I would say it borders on trolling and would probably get a Bomber fan suspended for posting an equivalent post on Riderfans. Ambrosie couldn't pass this in a vacuum. Commissioner isn't a dictator. All clubs, or at least the majority, had to agree to it. And if you read the articles of the time, it was clear that there was a sort of arms race going on between clubs and coaching staffs that was outpacing league revenues and wasn't sustainable. Here is an article on who decided on the cap, a little insight on how they came to it, and a clear explanation that Winnipeg wasn't the only team unaffected. In fact, Winnipeg isn't even mentioned in that area of the article. https://nationalpost.com/sports/cfl-implementing-new-operations-cap-before-next-season Does it suck for Saskatchewan that this was implemented? Sure. But in a league that has a history of shooting itself in the foot, has a long history of teams having to either be taken over by the league or saved by benefactors who don't care about losing money, is it a surprise that a cap like this is put into place to keep the league viable and more teams from going under? Or the more likely scenario that this was put in to pre-empt the players pointing to all the money available that teams were spending and should be available to players prior to CBA negotiations.

  6. Everyone seems to be giving the Riders the benefit of the doubt. Sure Collaros was absolute garbage last year, continuing his downward spiral to sub-mediocrity, but... Sure Jones was the linchpin that kept their defense organized but... Sure their offense looked like hot garbage but... Sure their best receivers left but... Sure their best two defensive players left but they picked up a couple of old guys, so... Sure they dumped a very good positional punter but picked up an old NFL punter, so... Sure their offensive line was old and tired last year and now they're older and broken but... But nothing. So what. They're going to be really bad this year. Hamilton by 20 points.

  11. You can hate the Bombers all you like, and you should. We all certainly hate the Riders. But hate us for legitimate reasons. Georgraphical reasons or your grandparents taught you from a young age you should always hate the Bombers or you think our players are whiners or we signed players that you used to like when they played on your team. All that stuff is fine, it just greatly undermines your credibility when you make up some crazy conspiracy theory that has literally zero chance of being true. Imagine the commissioner of the CFL favoring the freaking Winnipeg Blue Bombers of all teams. You think a guy works his whole life, plays professional football, becomes a successful businessman so he can become the commission of the CFL and rule in such a way that benefits his hometown team? Give me a freaking break. This is all so stupid.

  13. Four things, 1. He was cut by the Riders last year. 2. He's 5'-9", a full 7" shorter than Loffler. 3. He's slow. 4. Remember Hurl?

  21. So the bombers have sane management and that makes the commish a bomber backer? Maybe don't over spend on a prick like Jones and the coaching cap isn't a problem.

  22. I see a very different picture of Kyrie Wilson. Put it this way, I’ll be surprised if he’s the starter by the end of the season. And I would argue that O’Shea had no intention of giving anyone else the job. He was going to be the starter at WIL barring injury or total catastrophe. That’s how O’Shea operates for better for for worse.

  23. ohh.. I still hate him though because he is a rider fan. just to make that clear.

  24. Have to rephrase. I have 4 and my son in law is right beside us and he has 2. I shouldn't have said I have 6, I should have said we have 6. But yes 4 tickets and a parking pass is well over 3k

surprising because I was certain that someone would air lift him in as an emergency at some point in the season. Perhaps that's still a plan?

  30. Jones has been in Wpg. since 2014 and is now among the longest serving Bombers, not sure why he should require any more seasoning. I'm hoping the reason he's under Hecht is injury related.

  31. I strongly suspect that this year there has been more Raptors merchandise sold than Rider gear. As for Ambroise secretly plotting to become Commish only so that he can help the Blue Bombers and citing the coaching cap as proof, well that is just tinfoil hat, batshit crazy talk.

  35. Hecht is a concern. Biggest flaw in our D last season was Loffler’s lack of range and struggle to pick the right route to get on top of in match coverages. Haven’t seen Hecht play a lot of DB since his early days in Calgary but I definitely feel like he’s a substantial downgrade on an already weak spot. But it’s pretty clear that we’re all in on pass rush and I think that’s a good idea in this era of pass interference pretty much negating any attempt to cover anyway.

  39. I'm not gonna say he was GREAT but he was more than capable when he played for JSK last year at the end of the season and did not look out of place at all. I think he's going to shine next to Bighill. He'll be in on a crazy amount of tackles...

  41. There’s a difference between being concerned about starting a very weak player and saying that it’s going to be the difference between wins and losses. Hecht is a bad player. Period. It’s concerning both that this seemed to be plan A going into this season and that in the coaches eyes, no one could unseat him. I want the Bombers to be as good a team as possible and Hecht will struggle badly.

  42. Cactus: That BC player Mee-fee Cola....how do you say it? Bob Irving: Meffi Koloamatangi. Cactus: Right, Murphy Koala-mangy. Iirving: No, Koloamatangi. Cactus: Right, ColourmyTV, that it? Irving: No, it’s a tricky one for sure. I practiced all week on that one. Let’s just call him Meffi, Jack. Cactus: Well, suffice to say, Mr. Murphy Jack made an impact on today’s game... And then he’d call him Jack Murphy every time after that.

  46. For spot duty, Wilson was always close to the action and was in on several tackles last year. Good cutoff, good pursuit seems to know his assignments. Even in preseason this year, he was among the top tacklers. Positioned last year to play more until Bighill came to town and now has emerged as the leading candidate to keep his position.
