If that is the same plant that I am thinking of, it got into financial trouble a few years back. Apparently, business was so bad, the owners started packing pure fat into one end of the sausages to cut costs. Happily, things improved so that they could make both ends meat.4 points -

Glenn was as much a victim of circumstance as anything. It didn't help that he was a laid-back person who didn't get all twisted up over every loss or get in the faces of team mates who under-performed.. He had a healthy perspective about what was important and what was not and that was seen by many as apathy. He deserved better but life is life.3 points -

I got some: What is a Mennonite ethical dilemma? Free dance lessons. So Abe Penner gets shipwrecked on a desert island all by himself. He's stuck there and doesn't know what to do, but he figures it's a good idea to build a church...for although he's the only person on the island he figures that, come Sunday, he doesn't want to be the only person on the island NOT in church! Years later, a ship passes by the island. One of the guys from the rescue team sees a large, ornate building on edge of the beach and asks him "Wow! Somebody had some spare time on their hands to practice their carpentry skills! That's quite the house you built yourself?" Abe, stunned, says "No! I would never live in such an ornate building! This is no house of a mere man sir! This is the house of the Lord!" The rescuer, bewildered, then points to another, smaller building several hundred feet behind the church and asks him "Well, if this is a church, is THAT your house?" Abe turns, spits and replies loudly, "No sir! That's the church I used to attend! Why do mennonite boys grow beards? They want to look just like their moms!3 points -

Riders @ TiCats: 2019 Kickoff
bustamente and 2 others reacted to JCon for a topic
Everyone seems to be giving the Riders the benefit of the doubt. Sure Collaros was absolute garbage last year, continuing his downward spiral to sub-mediocrity, but... Sure Jones was the linchpin that kept their defense organized but... Sure their offense looked like hot garbage but... Sure their best receivers left but... Sure their best two defensive players left but they picked up a couple of old guys, so... Sure they dumped a very good positional punter but picked up an old NFL punter, so... Sure their offensive line was old and tired last year and now they're older and broken but... But nothing. So what. They're going to be really bad this year. Hamilton by 20 points.3 points -

many a morning waking up after a Bomber game I have to re-watch the second half on the PVR to see who won...2 points -
so the same except for the massive difference in scoring and turning the ball over... I think you need to re-evaluate what you want out of your quarterback. Let's not forget that Streveller got a lot of reps, especially in the red zone, while NIchols was playing? Which will lower a guys overall numbers. Collaros was a steaming bag of ****, Nichols was also poor compared to the standard he set, but still clearly better than Collaros.2 points

The Command Centre will focus on only overturning calls or non-calls made on the field where a clear and obvious mistake has been made. Saw clear evidence of these type of calls in the Calgary - BC game and the result was a much quicker decision on what happened and the avoidance of the near tossing of challenge flags by the “wronged team”. Pleasantly surprised...2 points

NFL Coming to Winnipeg for Preseason Game
Bigblue204 and one other reacted to Firekid for a topic
I never cared about NFL Ball until I joined a Fantasy Football league and now I love NFL Ball. I am a huge Football fan in both the CFL and NFL varieties! I love when I can watch football Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday! It took me one season to be familiar with the teams and players and the product on the field is great in both leagues. I would rather watch any football CFL or NFL over any other sport including hockey. To the people who say one is better than the other, I agree. They are both better than all the others lol!2 points -

I really don't care what Rider fans post on their board, nor do most people on this site. What matters here is what you bring and post on this board. Do you think coming to a Bomber website and making claims of collusion in favour of the Bombers from the CFL commissioner would get any reaction other then the one you were getting? I'm pretty sure you knew exactly what you were doing here and got exactly the reaction you wanted. Then feign innocence and saying it is odd when you get "jumped on". In fact, coming from a Rider fan I would say it borders on trolling and would probably get a Bomber fan suspended for posting an equivalent post on Riderfans. Ambrosie couldn't pass this in a vacuum. Commissioner isn't a dictator. All clubs, or at least the majority, had to agree to it. And if you read the articles of the time, it was clear that there was a sort of arms race going on between clubs and coaching staffs that was outpacing league revenues and wasn't sustainable. Here is an article on who decided on the cap, a little insight on how they came to it, and a clear explanation that Winnipeg wasn't the only team unaffected. In fact, Winnipeg isn't even mentioned in that area of the article. https://nationalpost.com/sports/cfl-implementing-new-operations-cap-before-next-season Does it suck for Saskatchewan that this was implemented? Sure. But in a league that has a history of shooting itself in the foot, has a long history of teams having to either be taken over by the league or saved by benefactors who don't care about losing money, is it a surprise that a cap like this is put into place to keep the league viable and more teams from going under? Or the more likely scenario that this was put in to pre-empt the players pointing to all the money available that teams were spending and should be available to players prior to CBA negotiations.2 points
