A generous amount of boos...wafting down from the stands.... Esks start at Bomber 50. Smith flat out drops 2nd down pass... 3rd and 4. Ellington jumps up for it on the sidelines....Sayles knockdown. That should do it...Bombers running out the clock...and Harris FUMBLES! Esks get it back at the 50, with 33 seconds left.. Rios knocks down 1st pass. 2nd down pass incomplete... 3rd down play....Fenner all over receiver. Ball incomplete. game now over. Esks O put up some good numbers and great TOP. .... But, like golf....you drive for show...and putt for dough. No TD's. 7 FG's Bomber O put up mediocre numbers.....but hit end zone 4 times... Worse things... than losing the numbers game..and winning football games 2 and 0. But need work closing out games....for the sake of my liver... Fortunately...its all as good as gin.

Well, after two weeks, here we are sitting at 0-2 as many predicted. Once again the other team had more passing yards which is how we measure wins. So crazy that we lost when we had the lead for literally the entire game. It’s really a shame we didn’t spread those TDs out across four quarters instead of two, that also matters. TDs scored on long drives (like we did in game one, mind you) are the ones that really count, dontcha know? It’s almost like we played a team that held their opponent to -2 total offensive yards after the midway point of the second quarter last week. I just wish scoring more points than your opponent, an opponent who right now seems to be one of the top teams in the league, counted for something. Ah well, if only points mattered more than stats. Shame on Nichols for telling Harris to fumble twice! Shame on him for calling a weird sweep on second and short! Shame on him for the o-line opening no holes for Harris and us constantly being stuffed, putting us in second and long! Shame on Nichols not forcing plays when we’re leading on the scoreboard and our punting and defence are playing very well! Considering there’s no salary cap, it’s so odd that we don’t have Mitchell, Reilly, and Harris as our three QBs, not to mention upgrading all of our weakest positions with the top players in the league! Walters is clearly an idiot. No wait, NICHOLS is an idiot for that one too! Phew, almost forgot there. Well, back to the drawing board. See you guys next year, this one is already a write-off.

First thing first...a sign of a good team is when you still win parts of team playing sub par...which we did...Offence seemed to be out of sync all game save for some great individual plays by some guys. Not very often Harris fumbles and loses the ball twice in a game, let alone twice in a year. Not sure whats up with Fenner, is it scheme or is it ability but he is better than that, that being said I see why we kept Rios around and not too worried about defense as a whole, they are needing some gel time and the d-line hasn't revved up yet but allowing only what..1 offensive T.D in 2 games against Reilly and Harris while not firing on all cylinders makes you just be giddy thinking of what they will do when they are firing on all cylinders. Jefferson though no fancy stats yet is a disruptive force and what he does out there, and attention he draws allows others to make plays...also he is seeing a lot of doubles and line play schemed to take him out of making big time plays...but either way it still benefits the defense as a whole. And as Mike mentioned...it's not about luck making the stops..I'll take a game plan all day allowing a team to move the ball between the 20's but if they can't score TD's thats a win. Oliviera is done for a while, it was either a bad dislocation or break of his ankle/leg as when he rolled out of the pile up it was twisted and pointing the wrong way..but we are in good shape as we have Augustine chomping at the bit, and I think right now he brings even more anyway, but sucks to lose Oliviera The o-line I think has basically solidified that they are no longer a concern and are going to be at the worst a very good line, quite possibly one of best..again once they get more games under their belts. Lucky..what can you say...get ball i his hands and give him a sliver of a seam, or any space at all and he is gonna be a threat to take it to the house at any time, and from anywhere on the field..this games was huge as teams have taken notice now and he is going to have attention on him now which will only open up space for the rest...Also even tough Nichols played a very up and down game, but the offence as whole did too...I'll still take his 3 td vs 1or zero Int and 180 to 230 yard performance when it just keeps accounting for wins

Andrew Harris and Nichols didn’t play well. But we rode the overall talent of this team to a relatively easy win against potentially our biggest threat in the West. This could be a remarkable Blue Bombers team.

Last night was no masterpiece by any stretch of the imagination, but it was a win against a very good football club. It's an 18 game season. Some games the O will need to step up for us to win and other games it will be the D. I really don't care which one it is as long as we get the victory. We were not lucky to win last night, we outscored our opponent. They didn't gift us these points, we didn't get a bunch of turnovers on lucky bounces, we went out and made plays to score and prevented them from doing the same. It was an ugly, hard fought game from two very good teams. I don't get all the angst here about the win.

LOL imagine being 2-0 and having an attitude like this. I know people are upset but 6 touchdowns and 1 int in two games and a 2-0 record and people are upset. Kinda funny

He looked really ******* good in game 1 despite the lack of yardage so don't give me that crap. That Edmonton D made Mike Reilly look like shell shocked Drew Willy so maybe we're all being too harsh on him based on 1 game early in the season.

Nichols has 6 TD passes and 1 INT. If nothing else, that is a winning ratio.

I know it was an ugly win but I'm surprised people are this angry. We won on an off night by making big plays when we needed to and getting touchdowns instead of field goals all while keeping a powerful Edmonton offence out of the endzone. I agree that if we play like this every night we probably don't win very often but I'm not ready to hit the panic button yet. I'm thrilled to be 2-0 and first in the West even though it is early.

I thought that failed short yardage play with the Fly Sweep killed all of our momentum. Offensively, we were never the same after that.

1 Lucky. His amazing plays to score won the game. 2 Nevis. Mashed up the middle and was even running down plays from behind. 3 Kick cover teams. Lots of guys with hard hits, and great coverage. HH Nelson running down field on kick cover from the back side and laying a big hit. Great game on teams from him. Honorable mention to hecht for some big hits and causing late aligator arms.

I wonder if only having one game then a bye week put the Bombers at a disadvantage. Could be a good amount of rust still having not played 2 previous regular season games like Edmonton.

HH to Justin Medlock he hit one bad one punt but then has made that sidewinder kick really work for him. When he hits it perfect its really hard to return. Got to give him credit he has become one of the best directional punters in the league. Has come so far from when he first got here in that aspect of his game.

It was 3 to 3 in turnover battle. Harris had a bad game but hey he has won us 10x more games than he has had bad games since he has been here. It will be good for next week because he is going to be pissed all week. A highly motivated Andrew Harris can be unstoppable at times.

I agree about Fenner, he looked awful and Rios looked better. Its funny, the D has given up 1 td in 2 games and I think many of us feel they can be better. On the offense, we've scored 61 points in 2 games and yet we can be better. Our QB has 384 yards in 2 games. We did nothing for about half the game last night. Given the weapons we seem to have: Harris, Adams, Matthews, Lucky, Woli, we should be better and certainly more consistent. However we are 2-0, we've beaten 2 western teams and the Riders are winless, so we have that going for us.

You guys can ***** about Nichols all you want be we scored 28 points before going Vanilla. Edmonton was providing alot of pressure and our interior oline wasn't playing that well. Nichols was rushed alot and got happy feet or Panicked a bit. But he looked WAAAAAAY better then Rielly did against the same defence last week that slaughtered BC. But Whatever. we are 2-0 and won by 7 points. It shouldnt have been this close if the O-line was last years oline and not playing inexperienced people. But. We won We won We wont against Edmonton that beat up the other 2 teams so far. So far we have beat both western teams we played. Ugly or pretty, I don't care.. Win.. WIn Win. If we win the grey cup 3-1 or 30-22, i don't care. We have alot of players on offence that are making plays and once Nichols/Streevler/whomever gets in the rhythm and the timing down with the rest of the receivers its gonna be lights out.. their Dline shut down our run game, and we still run But **** you all for making me positive when i would normally be picking the team apart. Pretty sure the Jet Package needed to be used more.

You are right, the Bombers did not win the Grey Cup last night. Since you obviously know that the trophy would have been awarded if Nichols had passed for more yardage, then I am glad that he didn't. This way we get to watch the rest of the CFL schedule this year. I find it highly entertaining.

That called back catch Matthews made was ridiculous.

Good teams win games that they have no business winning. How many times in the past 10 years has Calgary played really crappy and won the game. The Bombers at the moment have so much talent on this roster that they can overcome poor play.

The problem with saying it’s luck is that people don’t realize it’s by design. Our defense operates differently in the red zone than they do when they’ve got a whole field behind them. It’s not luck that we’ve given up one major in two games. I don’t even necessarily like it. But it’s the way our D runs and it works.

play calling might have been better if the Bombers actually executed on first down in the later stages of the game. Oh well. The good guys won. A number of the low points were from guys having unusually poor games so it doesn't concern me too much at this point. Basically what tonight showed me is that even if a few key guys have bad games, as a unit this team is still strong enough to compete with the other top teams in the league.
