  1. Ok let me take a stab at this game... Andrew Harris’ biggest run of the night was at the end of the half when just trying to kill the clock. Take that run away (the game we’re doing by taking Nichols long passes away for god knows what reason) and Harris’ numbers aren’t all that great. Add in Harris’ two fumble game against Edmonton. Ergo, Harris is a steaming pile of Rider crap! Did I do it right? What do I win?? We scored more points in the first half of this game than we have in the entire game of any of our three previous wins (five if you want to include pre-season). We’re 4-0 for the first time in 16 years. We are the only undefeated team in the league. We are the only team that has beaten Edmonton and Ottawa. We find a new way to win every week. Are we perfect? No, of course not. But as it stands, at this point in time, we appear to be closer to “perfect” than any other team in the league. I really wish more people watched all the non-Bomber games, we are far and away the most complete, put together team out there. Let’s also consider that we had Hardrick, Matthews, Whitehead, Bighill, Briggs, Hecht and probably more I’m forgetting out for all or most of the game. Everyone keeps saying “if we let up like that against a good team...”. News flash: We did. Against Edmonton. Guess what? They still didn’t beat us, and we didn’t even put up 48 in that one. So considering that we let up against Edmonton with 28 points and won, it’s fair to say had we done hat with 37 points or 41 points or 48 points... one sec, gotta so a quick calculation...carry the three...deduct anything good Nichols did...ignore anything bad Streveler did... yup, we would’ve still won. Point being: you don’t need to be perfect, you just need to be better than your opponent. So far we’ve been better than all our opponents, fairly convincingly.

  2. If this kind of nonsense is still going on here the night we win the Grey Cup after going 18-0 this season I may have to start hanging out next year on the Lions fan forums. If they in fact exist.

  3. Lost In all this is we are 4-0 and just won by 27.

  4. Do I agree with MOS that we could have been better in the second half? Yes. Do I agree with Doug Brown that those kind of games are tough when the last 40 minutes are garbage time? Yes. Let's focus on the fact that we are 4-0 for the first time since 2003 and still have room for improvement.

  5. 1 lucky. Big plays and steady ones 2 jeffcoat. Ton of pressure sack and down field play plus one called back. 3 Nichols had a real good half and came back from being banged up for a few drives. HH. Speller and a few others with the next man up mentality. Guys in tough spots taking over for injured bombers and playing well. Honorable mention to harris. He did what he always does.

  6. Nichols is trolling us. He’s going to throw for under 4000 yards but throw for 50 touchdowns

  8. Hey, I have a question. DID WE WIN LAST NIGHT? You wouldn't know it by the way people are complaining & arguing.
    6 points
  9. People are complaining last season because of the dink and dunk offense and we dont stretch the fields. Now we are stretching the field and people are still complaining Stats are for losers. What matter is the 2 point in the standings.

  10. anyone catch TSN's mini-doc on Dunigan's 713 game? Only about 5 minutes long, but it was so well done. Had Irving, Tait, Walby, Westwood, aaaaaaaand..........Mike Kelly........talking about it. It was super cool...

  12. The only concern about this game was the injuries, otherwise they did even to beat the argos in 1 quarter.

  13. The way some people respond makes me wonder if they are use to how football is played on Madden. You're not going to keep going full tilt when the game is over at half time, and your coaches will also adjust their calls accordingly. That's just how football is. It's literally no different than hockey when a team has a 5-0 lead after 40 minutes. The rest of the game is essentially a scrimmage at that point.
    5 points
  14. He had like 3 TDs on 8 passing attempts to start they game... they were killing the argos and got conservative cause the argos are no threat.

  15. Watching the game tonight I was wondering if Refs aren’t calling holding to improve QB protection. Seems like MBT would have been mauled a few times but for some holds that weren’t except on that one play in the 4th.

  16. WE ARE 4 AND 0 MAN. Jesus. Enjoy it. Nichols has thrown 10 TD to 1 pick. All 3 phases of our team are great. Stop it. Just stop.

  17. So, three passes for TDs. Showing great accuracy on his passes. Number 1 rated passer in the CFL. We're ahead 31-6 & you're here trolling? Go drive your snowmobile into Lake Winnipeg, fool.

  18. 5 minutes in, the Bombers have 5 yards offence and 23 seconds of possession. Nichols sucks! 🤣

  20. Watching the Game Recap vid, the second half is a bit painful, and I k Ow MOS is gonna shred it in review, but I really don't think there's anything to worry about going up against Ottawa next week, aside from injuries. Keep in mind, what we did to TO last night, we did without Bighill, Matthews and Hardrick (for a good chunk).... This is a good ******* team, so sit back and enjoy it.

  21. I think Matt Nichols should play on special teams and do a really shity job of blocking so that he can have a longer field to work with and rack up more yards. Lame that he isn't.

  22. They went up 28-0 and all 3 phases were dominating with ease.... no way they were going to keep playing that way. They stayed aggressive they probably win 80-0 but this team calls a conservative game when leading so big. Argos were never in that game, it was in the books after the opening kickoff.

  23. H.H. to Cody Speller for stepping in against Cleyon Laing who can be more than a handful when playing angry.

  24. HH to the D for that beastly stand on the 1 near the end of the game when it didn't matter but at the same time kind of did.

  25. I can't argue with that. You're right Nichols is a piece of **** and should never see the field again. Long live Streveler and his outstanding stats. You're right, I'm wrong and your logic is bang on.

  26. Lots of guys to pick... 1 - Jeffcoat was a monster, was causing all sorts of chaos. 2 - Special teams blocking and tackling... a massive difference between both teams. 3 - Harris - Made lots of plays out of nothing and was rock solid HH - Whitehead with those sick cuts both on the return and on offense Negatives - Lawler didn't win anyone over, Jones whiffed frequently, secondary really was soft in the 2nd half, LaPo calling ultra conservative plays in the 2nd half.

  27. Oof no surprise here, O’Shea taking it easy on his alma matter as expected. Not to mention how upset he is about Kevin Glen’s broken arm!

  30. I saw Hardrick running on the sidelines if that's worth anything. Up 30 could have been taken out for precaution.

  31. Tough crowd! Had we lost they would have needed to tell all the farm stores to lock the shovels and forks. We needed to win the game and that was settled by half time. The team's coaches decided to ease up in a gesture of sportsmanship. Why some blame Nichols for the play in the second quarter is beyond me. He was lights out in the first half and there was nothing that would not have made him play the same in the second half had he needed to. He was playing MOS/LaPo's game. The only thing I think might have been good is if they had pulled Nichols to give the backups more play. Consequently, as a Bomber fan it was not as interesting in the second half but the happiness of winning made it fun to watch.

  32. Would like to see more variety in the run game for the exact reason of moving the game along with a 3-4 score lead. I would be running hardly any straight dropbacks in that scenario. Pass should be off playaction or RPO, there should always be a run option shown to the D. And the reason is you don’t want to let teams hang around. Toronto had no chance because at all times at least one phase of their team is awful. If we have a 20+ point lead at half to Edmonton, Calgary or Hamilton what happened in that 2nd half yesterday can’t happen. They could legitimately run that lead back. I think at the point where Nichols went out for the rest of that drive would have been the right time to go that. It would likely be led by Streveler, it would include Harris but also make use of the back up tailback and Demski, Whitehead a few times on option plays. Lapo’s gameplans and playbook each week always has a very narrow focus, which is a good idea because the players are really prepared but it is also limiting in some ways. It’s good that the team is comfortable in close games but it’s not a bad thing to stomp on the throat either.

  33. They have not called holding much at all this season. Our d-line has been robbed of a tonne of sacks because of this.
    3 points
  34. Lapo has Nichols playing smart and utilizing the run game. He takes shots when they are there and the defense tends to cheat a bit and focus on Harris..and when not taking a shot plays safe..controls the game without giving the ball away and wait for the next shot...obviously until teams defend differently we will keep doing it...and last 2+ yrs show we can pretty much avg 30 points a game.. (as a team effort) playing this way. Also I bet we lead or are up at top of league in big explosion plays and Nichols has prob now thrown 3 or 4 deep shots to receivers in stride for scores to put to bed this notion he has no deep ball. Also the tangent some go off on with some big plays being result of receiver grabbing a short pass and doing rest himself is also wrong as those plays are a result of the other guys on offence doing their parts unselfishly for the play to succeed...its been plays executed to perfection...not some fluke

  42. While we did have some pressure & I think 3 sacks we didn't get constant pressure on MBT. He was allowed to stand in the pocket & complete passes downfield. Mostly to Derrel Walker. Fenner is weak in coverage & combine that with MBT having time (mostly) to throw & the loss of Hecht all made for along night in that secondary.
