  1. My prediction. Nichols, 3 TD passes, about 250 yards passing, a 20 point victory and one Northern Skunk complaining

  3. based on where we were when The Trinity took over to where we are today, it is insane to me that anyone can question how much better off we are with this regime in place than pretty much any other available in the league.

  4. I left Rogers two years ago and they still send me a statement every month showing that I have a $20 credit. I asked them to just send me a cheque and they said that the credit is only transferable to another Rogers account. So instead I just let them waste money on postage every month sending me the statement.

Chris Matthews told me the same, adding he’s excited as it feels like his #Bombers debut once again. 9. Does no one remember when the Bombers drafted Andy Muulumba? There was a video clip of the Bombers war room at that draft. It was abundantly clear that Mack was in charge and drafting Muulumba was his call.

  11. Oh there was enough to blame in that Western Final, to go around, and Nichols needs to assume his share. But it starts with play calling because the QB has to follow those reads of that play. Calgary had a great defence last year and an even better game plan against us. You’d think that LaPolice would have expected that. But we ran the same offence as the Calgary defence expected. No Streveler packages to speak of, no misdirection, just same old, same old. Listen, I’m no defensive guru, but when I know what’s coming from out offence, then surely Calgary did...and they did. It was a decent defensive game, but we couldn’t stop Mitchell to Rogers (6 rec 3 TDs) and that was enough. Our crappy 3 yard passes to get 6 yards wouldn’t fool anybody, whether that came from Nichols or LaPolice. It was a winnable game..we just got out Coached IMO.

  12. Guess it is because he no longer plays for the Big Blue - See it over on RiderFans.com all the time. If the player is part of the Rider Organization he is the best thing since sliced bread. Once he leaves, he is garbage. I had thought we had a better class of people on this site. Guess I was mistaken.

  13. If the bombers get into a situation where they aren't leading in the 4th quarter you will see Nichols 4th quarter passing stats balloon up. It's like no one has watched lapo at all before...

  18. Drew Willy was pretty good for awhile until he got hurt. After that he was gun shy and it ruined him. But the trade Walters pulled off to unload Willy was exceptional. Unfortunate I believe it was Faith that he picked with the number 1 overall from that trade that turned out to be a dud but not one person in the league saw that coming. No one.

  19. Herb Zurkowsky‏ @HerbZurkowsky1 I’m told members of the #AlsMTL coaching staff wanted to jettison @StefLogan11 before the 2018 season, but he was being protected by former GM Kavis Reed. Indeed, Logan told a teammate he was “untouchable.”

  21. Despite being 4-0 Some food for thought... I wasn’t pleased with our defensive play the other night, but overall, I’m happy,” he said. “I’m encouraged by where we’re at right now. “… Like I told them, I’m happy for you guys that we won and everything, but I thought it was our worst outing defensively this year regarding being sharp, being focused, doing the things we need to do. “That started off in practice… I didn’t like the way we practiced last week and that carried over. I’m happy that we won, but we can’t have that kind of effort week in and week out and expect to win.” Richie Hall to Ed Tait 👁‍🗨And, this well explained article.. This is not so good.. After five weeks, the Bombers rank last in passing yards per game and seventh in passing yards against per game. They also have given up 27 20-plus yard completions, double than any other CFL team. And Winnipeg’s operating on short fields. Their league-best average starting field position is from the 41-yard line, nearly six yards higher than the league average. But When they’re on offence, it’s likely a two-and-out or a quick six. Winnipeg has 24 two-and-outs, the second-most in the league. But Winnipeg’s first in passing efficiency at 117.8 and Matt Nichols is first among starters with a 126 efficiency rating. Nichols’ 10 touchdowns to one interception largely plays into that. Below are Matt Nichols 2019 passing yards by quarter. 1st - 305 2nd- 294 3rd - 207 4th - 49. A whopping 70 per cent of Matt Nichols passing yards have come in the first half of Winnipeg’s four games. Winnipeg’s scoring early and cruising to victory. They’ve led all four games going into the fourth quarter by an average of 12 points. Nichols hasn’t needed to move the ball in the final frame yet and the 49 fourth-quarter passing yards shows just that. Perhaps the most alarming passing observation has been opponents’ tendencies to attack Winnipeg’s field-side through the air. Chandler Fenner’s been the poster boy of this, but neither Brandon Alexander or Derek Jones — albeit Jones in limited action — have fared well. Where it gets tricky is the fact that Fenner’s made some nice plays (but he’s also been horrific on some). He’s giving up a 62 per cent completion rate on balls thrown his way, which is a fine number considering players like Aaron Grymes and Tre Roberson are at 59 and 64 per cent. Consistency in coverage is the issue for Fenner. He’s breaking on balls well and has shown the strength to separate the ball from a potential pass-catcher. It’s just the frequent breakdowns — the stumbles and penalties — that are damaging Fenner’s name. https://lastwordoncanadianfootball.com/2019/07/16/winnipeg-blue-bombers-passing-yards-coming-early-against-field/

  22. Not enough people give credit to the Calgary Defense in that WF they were fantastic. I don't think any offence in the league was going to move the ball on them that day.

  23. Yes it is. We aren't right on the lake but it's only a ten minute walk away. Or a five minute ride to grand beach. Baby deer jumping through the yard, bears crossing the main road or eating outta the local bar garbage bin, wayyyy too many noisy birds .... yeh it's nice and will be even better once the tv is working for CFL football.

  24. Equating the two is silly- one, is an agenda driven second tier "media outlet" that is sticking a mic in your face trying to force a gotcha moment- the other, is an opportunity to rebuke a racist presidents racist comments on your own terms where you have time to thoughtfully gathered your thoughts and hold your own press conference and release a statement. Replying to the rebel media if you are on the left, is never a good thing- if you aren't carrying the conservative water, they are going to spin it. The rebel is not even a news organization- it's basically fox news, if fox news dropped it's news section. It's been described as "The Rebel Media is a Canadian far-right political and social commentary media website." not even news- so what kind of journalistic integrity are they beholden to? That is the equivalent if the young turks were chasing down cocaine mitch and demanding him to denounce whateveryouwantatthispoint and getting outraged if he didn't respond, because of course he isn't and he really ******* shouldn't. For the record, I think it is silly when any of these media outlets are walking beside republican lawmakers and sticking mics in their faces trying to get a gotcha moment too.

  25. I am admittedly not a fan of Nichols but I can separate my personal feelings about him as a player and give him credit for good or great performances. That’s what I did last game and the game before. I named him one of the three stars of the game, not sure what sort of praise beyond that is warranted. There are those that are huge Nichols fans that won’t acknowledge a single bad performance. The WF last year, for example. We’re winning and Nichols is playing well right now. I couldn’t ask for anything more. I criticized him after a poor performance and praised him after the good ones. Simple as that.

  30. I wouldn't go that far. There's room for improvement and the players and coaches have acknowledged that. But major issues is overstating it. And it helps when the team has a lead going into the final frame. It isn't common for offenses to continue airing out the ball when leading the game, anyway. The ground game becomes more crucial when it's time to start chewing up the clock and close out a game. This is especially common with how LaPolice runs his offense.
