  1. Might be adding fuel to the fire here... but just some stats on Nichols vs other QBs after Week 5: 1. Most TD passes in the league (10). 2. His completion accuracy (69.4%) is right around league average (67.9%) 3. He's only thrown 1 interception to-date, the only QBs who have less is Trevor Harris and Nick Arbuckle, Arbuckle also has considerably less playing time, so I'd attribute his low INT total to that. 4. Winnipeg's offense successfully runs the ball... alot! Of our total offensive plays (204), close to half of them (95, 46.57%) have been running plays, which is 1st in the league. We're the only team above.500 that currently successfully does this, the two other teams that are run-heavy are SSK (104 running plays, 228 total offensive plays, 45.61%) and MTL (99 running plays, 213 offensive plays, 46.48%). After that, there is about a 10% drop-off in run-play % with each other team running the ball less than 40% of their offensive plays. 5. Although it is true we have 2nd most 2-and-outs in the league (24), the league average is 19, we're within 1 sigma of the league average, essentially meaning our offense is pretty much middle-of-the road in terms of 2-and-outs. 6. His completion % for deep passes (38.10%) is 3rd-worst in the league, though it should be noted he doesn't shy away from it (21 attempts, league average 21.3 among qualifying QBs). Interesting note here though, Reilly's deep pass completion % is only 28.13%... only QB who is worse is Mitchell (20.00%) though I'd attribute that to him playing hurt. 7. There does not appear to be any correlation between 300+ yard games and team winning percentage (R^2 value = .0872) league-wide, suggesting that this stat is practically irrelevant with respect to wins league-wide, not just for Nichols who is 4-0 with 0 300 yard games. 8. You guys made me late for work.

  3. the stadium is in a phenomenal spot, and I don't buy any of the bullshit surrounding it's location for one second.....it's always going to be inconvenient for someone. I LOVE where it is....

  4. the stadium location is a dumb reason in any context..it was an inconvenient location for me before...and thousands of others in area of city where I live...but we all went....so now if it's a matter of being inconvenient for the St James/Charleswood/polo Park area crowd, and they choose to not go anymore...then they were never true fans. When I lived in Oakland/San Jose areas going to a pro event was usually a good hour..hour and a half venture (one way) on most occasions....so stadium location in a smaller city is a pathetic excuse if you ask me

  9. Yeah the CFL needs to adjust the prices in my opinion. Costs have gone up and up but the entertainment value has remained static. Make it a more accessible experience for families and cheapskates if you ask me.

  14. I didn't care for Sanchez too much when he started, but now I can tolerate him. I much prefer him to Jock who I found quite annoying and usually anti-Bombers. Cuthbert and Dunigan are my favorites but I've lost my appreciation for Ford who almost seems disinterested sometimes.

  16. 6 Straight at Home?: The Bombers look for their 6th consecutive home win - the last time they did that was in 2002-03. The Blue Bombers have won the last matchups as well 5 of the last 6 vs Ottawa. All 5 wins have come with Matt Nichols at QB - overall however he is 5-4 vs the REDBLACKS for the Bombers. Two weeks ago, The Bombers won 29-14 in Ottawa and seek to sweep the series for the first time since 2017. Nichols vs Jennings: They have started against one another 6 times with Nichols coming out on top in 5. Jennings has had 3 of his best 6 career performances come against Winnipeg (422, 408 & 372 yards). The Bombers have trailed for a grand total of just 9 minutes & 24 seconds all season long (vs BC in Week #1). Their scoring edge thus far in the first 15:00 of games is 42-7. Game Notes...

  17. He is technically not a healthy scratch because he is still on the injured list. I'll be shocked if he isn't in the lineup next week. Just being cautious and giving him lots of practice time before reinserting him into the lineup.

  23. I left Rogers two years ago and they still send me a statement every month showing that I have a $20 credit. I asked them to just send me a cheque and they said that the credit is only transferable to another Rogers account. So instead I just let them waste money on postage every month sending me the statement.

  24. Well speaking for Calgary... there's nhl, CFL, whl and lacrosse... that's about it right? I guess they got the new soccer team but does soccer really count?

  25. I can’t imagine we’d be sitting Matthews if he’s ready to play. Slow start to the season or not, we’ll need a productive Matthews for our O to play to its full potential.

  27. Healthy scratch in the same way bighill was a healthy scratch last week no doubt.

  28. Same scenario across the entire league. Here in Calgary game day prices are so high the walk up crowd doesn't exist anymore. Then add in high concession prices & the games are all on tv. People stay home. The CFL is for the most part sticking its head in the sand & ignoring the issues.

  29. yeah disappointing that Matthews wasn't back in...must be taking that extra game precaution..look forward tho to see Walker get some reps with the offence

  30. I have a friend there. The problem is that the ST ticket base keeps going down every year and it is at its lowest point now since the move. So even when the team is playing well, it's hard to get the numbers up. CFL attendance in general keeps going down and I'm not sure what's behind that. If course, things could change with a big ticket push over today and tomorrow to get us into the 24-25k range but the trend isn't looking great right now. It's sad because this team deserves a big crowd.

  32. Starting last season under Jones with the signing of Collaros I'm convinced Sask. has been attempting to build a LaPo style offence, this season with the addition of Powell to duplicate the role Harris fills as the workhorse it looks even more so. Their major failure lies in not investing enough to rebuild their Natl. O-line talent at the foundation, as well as not yet finding a consistent reliable QB.

  33. The team was penalized 10 yards for objectionable conduct. Rule 7 - Fouls and penalties, section 4 - objectionable conduct, g. Unnecessary physical contact with an official. https://cfldb.ca/rulebook/fouls-and-penalties/objectionable-conduct/ no mention of fines. Objectionable Conduct Physical Abuse can bring a disqualification as a game penalty. No charge of abuse in this case and addresses the question offered by Geeber. https://www.cfl.ca/game-rule-penalties/ Id see the CFLPA challenging the discipline as “overkill”. Is the league, CFL, emboldened because of having the understandable and significant arbitration win over the Lawrence discipline?

  47. When they’re on offence, it’s likely a two-and-out or a quick six. Winnipeg has 24 two-and-outs, the second-most in the league. @Mr Dee posted this in the other thread. Still dont think the O is struggling with consistency? Another snippet he posted.. In 4 games Nichols has 49 psssing yards in the 4th quarter or about 12 yards per game. Still? 4 and 0 is great but 4 and 0 is def covering up a few major issues.

  48. My prediction. Nichols, 3 TD passes, about 250 yards passing, a 20 point victory and one Northern Skunk complaining
