I have said it before and I will say it again. I don't care how the Bombers win. Just Fuking win. Play hard, play on the edge of out of control without taking penalties and punish these fuking Stamps. Do your job and win. I'm still mad about last week to the point where I can't even listen or read about it so this week they have to win.

  3. We need more then 6 second half carries for Andrew Harris, I need to see Lapo and Nichols stretch the field more and for god sakes let’s stop game planning and playing not to lose. If we’re up by more then ten points at any point I don’t want to see us go into conservative mode. I’m feeling optimistic tonight!

  4. After that pitiful performance against the Argos and the TiCats, I'm expecting a fire to be lit under their collective @$$! The defence needs to start playing defence. Cover the flats, actually make a STOP on a 2nd and long for a change. In other words, BE MENTALLY STRONG AND PREPARED. The offence and LaPo needs to establish the run game early and don't stray from it. Start throwing deep balls to our highest paid receiver, and mix it up with play action. I could care less if Nichols throws for 200 yds or 400 yds. Don't turn the ball over and stop playing scared. #ForTheW

  9. I won't fault Walters, he's brought in A+ Free Agents , drafted well and has recruited some really good imports. I definitely would lock him up. O'Shea is frustrating because of his poker face and outsiders having zero reads on what he really thinks/feels about the way his players really are playing. On the other hand we have heard numerous positive reviews about the culture and the respect the players have for him. I'd consider him untouchable as well. Coordinators this is where it's a bit dicey. We definitely could use a fresh set of eyes on the defense. I'd have no problems if they moved into a different direction as we have so much talent on our d that on talent alone we will get by. On offense I'm not completely on the blame LaPo bandwagon like a few others. I'd like to see this offense being ran by someone decent like Harris or even Reilly. If we move on I also don't think it's the end of the world because unless you get a wacko like Kelly, anyone should be able to do decently with all the talent that we have.

  10. Good, consistent leadership at the top. The Stamps don't win every year but they field a competitive team because the have good, consistent leadership at the top. That's what we're doing now and people want to throw that away for the unknown? Yikes.

  11. Ok but Walter's and oshea haven't been here for 29 years, and honestly a big problem in that streak is the constantly firing coaches and gms when they hit a rough patch. No one ever got to build any consistancy. Walter's and oshea are the first ones and the results thus far seem positive. Always a playoff contender now, expectations of being a top team. Those guys have earned a lot more time.

  12. I agree with you both. Plus, I like what Walters and O'Shea have done. And, I like consistency in a franchise's coaching and management. But, I also think in a 9 team league it's fair as a ticket buying fan base to expect a championship more than once every 29 years. I get that there are so many factors that go into winning the Grey Cup, with luck being part of it. But, using Calgary as the standard - 3 Grey Cup wins since 2008. That buys management and coaches a lot more leeway. Again, I'm not calling for anyone's jobs. But, at some point competitiveness and getting into the playoffs has to amount to more. And, I guarantee there are coaches out there looking at this team who think they could get us there.

If a gun was handy, death by poisonous plant would be a really bad choice. From the looks of the boat they allegedly used they may have been naive enough to think they could ride the Nelson all the way to Hudson Bay, but in the end they really had no hope of surviving in that corner of the world. Flat bottomed boat on a fast flowing river would be moving about 40 mph with little way to slow it down.

  16. I don't think O'Shea is in much danger of being fired anytime soon. There are things I wish he did differently but I'm in no rush to go back to the way things were before he (along with Miller/Walters) got here.

Then that's a really dumb DC considering we are second in offensive points scored to Ham (199-197) and first in offensive TD's by 2 over next best team as well as employ the leagues best ground game with most yards...and most avg yards per rush attempt...just saying I'd be hoping if I was the CGY DC that Lapo continues his trend of trying to outsmart the world and continue his trend of going away from what had been working and more or less making downfield strikes and misdirection and multiple player run plays dissapear from the offence...pretty much what has been a big reason for the last 2 losses

  23. Players when signing here have specifically mentioned the culture and coach as 2 big reasons. Hall? Lapo? They can piss off anytime but im keeping the guys who have made Winnipeg a free agent destination

  25. let's not forget that the Stamps have had plenty of playoff choke jobs over that time as well. This obsession with championships does more harm than good to this team and this fanbase. Forget it and just let things play out. You keep making the playoffs then at some point you're going to win a Grey Cup or 3.

  26. exactly...you have to assess this regime on their contribution...not their predecessors...first 2 years were total wash/rebuild ones...the last 3 we are the second winningest team in the CFL...same as this year being top (for now)...let what has finally been built and established grow and continue...to pull a redo...cause its 29 years and counting is plain suicide...i look at it as year 4 and counting now...and we seem to be on right track

    The Environment Thread

I hear what you're saying - just pointing out that although our part of the world will likely see some benefit to warming, there will be many casualties as well. In this particular case, the first ranchers to go will be the small ones and I have never seen that fewer, bigger farms is beneficial to the environment.

  28. As long as O'Shea and Walters can keep the team in the vicinity of first place every year in the West as the Stamps have for the past decade not sure how much more can be demanded of them. Playoffs are a crap shoot, but odds are if they can accomplish the first objective they should be able to win a G.C. at least once every 4 years, it seems reasonable to expect that they claim their first within the next two years.

  31. You are assuming that this is binary choice: either O'Shea and status quo or back to the dark ages. There are probably several choices in between or even better than the current regime. Khari seems to have turned the Als' season around and the Riders are arguably little worse for Chris Jones' departure.

  32. I don't think that's entirely true. Kongbo is a beast and will only improve as he continues to get his legs under him and acclimatize but the drop off isn't huge. With Roh, Kongbo and Jefferson off the edge with Nevis and Richardson / Thomas inside .. we have depth here and alignment on this front has been fairly fluid. If anything, our Ends are going to get a few more reps than they might normally (and in the case of Kongbo, that's not a bad thing) and there will be less substitutions.

  33. Harris said it wasn't about the money then signed with the Eskimos for $525K, 50K more than the Redblacks offered. He also tried to double the amount of the signing bonus from the Redblacks. It was about the money folks.

  34. Put this story in Bomber News because Weston Dressler was a member of the Bombers the past few seasons. he has retired. No surprise, there. https://www.620ckrm.com/2019/08/07/weston-dressler-retires/#.XUvE4ln8XZk.twitter

  35. I don't see it making the Riders better. Willy likely does not resign there as they still had a healthy Durant coming off leading them to a Grey Cup. Glenn remains a Redblack. Willy may have gone to BC or Montreal. I think Burris would have made us better. Better QB even in 2014 than Willy ever was.

  36. Toronto attempted something stupid like 50 passes. Our D didn't get stops when they needed. Hell they could have ended the game at the end on 3rd down except they tackled the guy past the first down sticks instead of before. They pooped their pants as bad or worse than the offense did.

  40. I would bet that most here in this forum who were watching that game knew that the Bombers were going to lose that game when the offence came onto the field with a minute or so in the game and just had to get a couple of first downs to salt the game away. When the offence failed and the Argos came out, it was a near-certainty that the defence was panicked and would put up no resistance.

  48. Next year will be yr 3 for Strev...and if we keep him will be in same system with relatively the same supporting cast. I think if we win the Cup..we either trade Nichols if there is a taker..a team like Toronto could be a suitor considering they just traded for Collaros. We roll with Strevler..tweek and reconfigure the offense a bit to maximize his strengths but still build and develop his passing. He can pass more than adequately and as the main man..getting first team reps and not having to run gimmick and special schemes he will do just fine. As of now he is put in to run plays with limited options for him..so if the main read isnt there he basically has not much else to go to and relies on his legs It's not a matter of him just always taking off after one read as many think..its basically be design/circumstance.. next time you are at a game live watch what's going on around him on the field with options and receivers...you dont get the full picture on the tsn feed
