Osh is just a beaut.... https://www.bluebombers.com/2019/09/04/need-know-september-4/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter One more from O’Shea, who was asked about reports that Matt Nichols could miss most of the regular season. Nichols was injured in the win over B.C. on August 15th and the club placed him on the six-game injured list, indicating he would be re-evaluated near the end of that stretch. “That’s not the information we have,” said O’Shea of the reports. “I don’t know who’s been reporting it. What happens is somebody throws out a comment like that, they make something up and sure enough all these pseudo-reporters get to take it and run with it. Whatever. That’s not the information I have.”

  2. True....but in that game to close out the 2nd quarter there was a series of plays, resulting in basically a 6 point swing where you could say the game was lost...and essentially was due to a ticky tack hold...and a non hold...around the 3:25 mark Streveler had a nice QB keeper...had us in field goal range but was called back for a hold on Gray. Now go watch it if you have it PVR'd..He was drive blocking..square on the DT basically with a pretty standard block you see all game..hands inside the shoulders...not off to the side...didn't pull guy anyway whatsoever..just continued his block and pushed the DT back...standard stuff...but took us out of range and we punted. Then on the Sask drive...around 2:25 or so when they missed that deep shot to Moore...you can hear "hold" being yelled...but no call....re-watch it...Biggie is blitzing...Right Tackle grabs him and basically tackles/pulls him to the ground..right in plain view of 2 officials...text book hold which is always called....but nope....would have pushed them back...made it 1st and 20 and good chance we make them punt before they stalled in FG range and got their 16th point..now how was that not called?...it was an edge play and not obstructed, and was a focal part of the play too as being a blitz hard not to watch that part of the line. The funny part was Doofus Suitor's narrative about that..and what went on as he commented on the hold being vocalized on the field. If's and's or but's be damned...that was a pretty critical series of events that played a major role in games out come

  4. the Riders are trash...they barely beat our back-ups. By far the most overrated team in the league. **** everything about that team. I'm not sold on Streveler yet, but I hope he hangs 40 on them this week and we just ******* pummel them.

  7. If true, looking forward to seeing if these two factor well this weekend. I think we already know what Petermann can do and hopefully do again.

  8. OK but let's be realistic here, in a league where Vernon Adams and Cody Fajardo and Dane Evans and now Chris Streveler are starting quarterbacks who in gods name is available for trade that's worth trading for?
    4 points
  9. Nope, we don't. Don't care. Riders suck. Always have, always will.

The hit on Rempel was legal. The rule says you cannot hit him until his lifts his head. He lifted his head and got hit - in that order. What do you expect the league to do? There is no rule that you cannot hit someone hard. Rempel will look at the film and say that he should have stayed lower as he brought his head up. It's no different than skating through the neutral zone with your head down. I preach about protecting players all the time. But I don't want anyone refereeing based on how injured a player was after the play.

  13. The Bombers have a very good chance to advance to the finals and win..no matter who the QB is. We have a stellar team. But, We also have a lack of recognition from the Coaching staff on how to do that. The technical Coaching, preparation and attitude is fine, but the game planning to beat certain teams needs work. That includes play calling and line ups. We fall short in that regard. You can’t convince me that we don’t have a team talented enough to beat anybody. But our use of players... That’s what’s holding us back.

  14. I blame everyone. Including you! And the CBC! Cause I want a game where Walby does the pbp. If he was calling it Sunday. They would have won!

  15. first time watching Ritchie Hall call a D? either blitz or drop way back, that happens all the time with him. He gives up the short underneath passes by design.

  16. I suppose. I always tend to play my cards close and MOS is the same. Why give out info if you don't have to. Look at what has happened with CGY. There were a few weeks where you didn't know who would start. Was Mitchell ready? Was he coming back? IF Streveler starts lighting it up, and Nichols is done for the year, but you don't announce it, it could lead to a similar situation. Making teams at the very least think about it. And maybe spend some time reviewing film on Nichols/preparing for him in practice. After the 6 games, you announce it's week to week. Just gives the other team something to think about.....but If you announce that he's done. That's never going to happen. Does it make a difference? Likely nothing substantial, but there's always that chance that they spend time on Nichols, and miss something on Streveler. Football is a game of inches in almost every way. Little advantages that don't look significant at all, can play a big part in having success. Sure it's far fetched. But not completely out of the realm of possible. And MOS never seems to right off things that are far fetched.

  19. Give me a break. It's absolutely nothing like skating with your head down in the neutral zone. The only somewhat accurate comparison would be a RB with the ball running with the head down. If you want to make a hockey comparison, it would be a goalie outside his crease getting plowed over with his head down looking for the puck. It wasn't within the spirit of the rule at all and that's why we've rarely (if ever) have seen this happen until now. All this did was force the league to make the rule black and white so this never happens again. It was a cheapshot 10000%. Dickenson even said so.

  20. If Remple lands on his ass or his back, he's back on the field the next time he's needed. Bad luck that he hit his head on the field.

It was no freak accident. Remple’s head bounced because he wasn’t ready to absorb that hit. That alone should have been THE indicator that it was roughing. It was an aggressive hit and injured a player. Duh! What else do you need?
    2 points
  22. Then I've got some oceanfront property to sell you. The only reason for that play to happen is malicious intent. Did the rider intend to injure temple and put him on the ir? Probably not but it wasn't done for funsies either. It was a play where the intention was to plant the long snapper on his ass. I mean really if Remple had kept his head down for a moment it would have been a penalty by the books, so what has really changed? It was a hit against the spirit of the rule. Just that apparently the CFL sucks at wording their new rules.

Y'all are too sensitive. The league said that there is nothing in the rule book prohibiting this type of hit, and that they will look at ways to prevent this from happening in the future, which is exactly THE RIGHT THING TO DO. To be fair, it was kind of a freak accident, with Rempel's head hitting the turf the way it did. Had he simply fallen on his back, this wouldn't even be a point of discussion. I don't believe the hit was malicious in nature.

  24. That is the most CFL thing ever.... oh it's ok in this instance but let's quickly change the rules after the fact. Pretty God damned sick and tired of this reactionary bullshit. Either that's ok or it's not, don't change thing after we lose our long snapper. If it's notnokngoing forward they should have fined the rider douchebag who did it just to make it seem legit.

  27. Releasing that info would also not benefit the team if they were trying to swing a trade to bring in another QB. They are already in a disadvantage in that regard but confirming Nichols is out for the season would put them in an even worse negotiating position.

  28. This is who we send after THEIR long snapper ?

  36. well he's employed 2 defensive coordinators in his time here who both like the bend don't break D. I would guess that's why he is OK with it. You can justify it as "well they didn't make the plays to get the stop" but that's just a cop out.

  46. Is this supposed to be ******* funny? "For instance, if Winnipeg won the Grey Cup in 1,990 of the 10,000 replications, then its Grey Cup victory probability would be 1,990/10,000 = 19.90%." https://www.cfl.ca/2019/09/04/cfl-simulation-riders-pegged-early-grey-cup-favourites/ Bad enough the refs are cheering against us, now we have the league trolling us? Hey, when 5 of your other teams are filing for bankruptcy again and you are looking for help, lose our ******* number.
