  1. Ted Wyman @Ted_Wyman · 10m #Bombers RB Brady Oliveira, who has been out since Week 3 with an ankle injury, is doing some light running at practice today. Told me yesterday he hopes to be practising again in a few weeks. #CFL

  2. The older u get and the more I live out west the less I want to live anywhere IN Sask... I've had opportunities to take jobs there, and just couldn't bring myself to do it. I legitimately don't know that I could live among Riders fans. My Bombers fandom means too much to me. And I'm not even kidding a little bit.

    Bombers vs Als Lead Up

I gotta be honest, with Strev at QB I like Bailey and Petermann over Whitehead and Demski too. Bailey and Petermann are more traditional receiver types that give Streveler nice, easy pass options. I really like what Whitehead and Demski bring to the table in play making ability, and with an experienced QB they get my vote, but they do not have the same ability to get consistently open and provide their QB with safe medium range targets in the holes of the zone. Personally, I was hoping the Bombers were going to give Petermann more playing time this year. Bailey seems to have a natural receivers ability in his routes and nice soft hands.

  7. Drew Edwards made an interesting point on his exit blog from 3Down on why he no longer enjoys covering the CFL as much: There are a few other little things, all of which could justify their own self-serving rant. The inherent contradiction of competing with the CFL’s ever-expanding “media” division while also covering it; the ever-declining level of discourse in the age of social media; the perception that holding the league and teams accountable is somehow akin to hating them. These are minor irritations that, built up over a decade, became somehow burdensome. We're losing quality journalism with the CFL's own media team. While I like Ed Tait and appreciate everything he's done, I wish he still did it for an independent newspaper. Better than nothing I suppose but he pulls his punches now, IMO, which makes sense for him.

  8. For me Peterman has always been a player you just knew was/is a talented guy...biding his time waiting to get his shot and make the most of it..Has the same kind of tenacity and drive as Streveler and I don't see how you can keep him out of the line-up going down the stretch...Sure is nice to have that kind of depth and Mr. Clutch is certainly a good handle...

    Bombers vs Als Lead Up

Still think our best lineup would be Adams-Whitehead-Peterman-Wolitarsky/Bailey-Demski Can't believe they haven't moved Woli to the inside yet - him and Peterman would be very hard to defend and provide very solid blocking

  12. I honestly like going with Bailey over Whitehead and Peterman over Demski. I'm not sure they are better players, but Demski and Whitehead seem to both give LaPolice incentive to run "gadget" plays instead of running a good offense.

  13. You want to replace Little with Copp, Roslo, or Lowry? None of those guys are second line centres. Maybe Roslo can become one but he hasn't shown it so far.
    3 points
  14. No, he has one championship. 2010 with the Blackhawks. He's been with this organization since. And I don't even understand the second part. He doesn't get a shot at what if not for the youngsters...? Yes, not making this one change up front is the reason why Byfuglien is taking personal leave. Not his injury history, not his life after hockey, not his age, and not his interests/hobbies/enjoyment of life outside of the game... This is clearly all Paul Maurice's fault by not making a line change to the forward group that a defenseman is contemplating his future in the NHL.

all our receivers this year are a victim of circumstance...it will be a tough task for any to surpass 600 yards this year...but if we keep winning I'm fine with that. Woli has played just fine...had a couple bad drops...but over his 2 years here has made all his grabs...he also this year has done a great job with blocking, freeing up others..

  16. We're already paying Kulikov our broken-player money. Once he's off the books, we could replace him with another back-injury prone player.

Hopefully we will/can rotate a steady dose of Demski/Woli/Peterman in varoius sets..keep them all fresh and also keep the defenses guessing and not sure what is being ran consistently I would like to see us as well use a DI spot on Bailey, and roll with all-national DB depth/back-ups and enable us to rotate Bailey in with Whitehead and Lawler, we have played a good 5 games with no Import DB as a DI and with Jones, Wright, Exume and Hallett all on roster anyway I am sure we would be fine...especially once Jeffcoat gets back and our d-line pressure gets even better...I think more offensive weapons/options for Streveler benefit us more than an import DB as a DI who may not get many snaps anyway as Jones comes in a lot as the extra guy as it is anyway

  19. It makes tons of sense. He's looking at his wife and kids and not feeling the drive to get back on the ice. The timing is exactly that. I see it all the time with people at retirement age. They have the resources to retire but never felt the need to. But, then something happens or they wake up and say, "I don't want to do this any longer."

  20. Saskatoon and Regina are small cities. You're not going to get the same amenities that you would in a large city. Winnipeg, for arts, culture and sport hits above it's size. We're lucky. But, if you like the small city lifestyle and like the amenities it has, they are great little cities. If you're a hunter, Regina and Saskatoon are great. If you like spending your free time in the nature, canoeing, hiking or whatever, Regina and Saskatoon are great. If you like great food choices and lots of concerts, Regina and Saskatoon are not so great. It's like saying Toronto is a bad city because the buildings block the view of the Lake Ontario.

    Laine comments

Patrik Laine's agent Mike Liut was on Sportsnet’s Starting Lineup today. He indicated that Patrik Laine reached out to Bryan Little immediately regarding comments in Finnish news. Said 29 & 18 are "more than fine".

  28. Pretty obvious Maurice played a huge role in this mess. All he had to do is switch up 55 and 26.. He didn't. 2 seasons ago.. Ehlers Scheif Laine dominated when put together. Dominated. Scored every shift pretty much. We all know Wheeler and Little have chemistry from their ladd little wheeler years. Whats the problem here? I dunno. But all signs point to a stubborn coach Why have 2 top lines tho when u can have 1.

  37. So many rumours flying so I wont add to them by saying anything but the guy who told me it was Buff considering retirement said there was a physical ailment component to it. I think its a matter of having the drive to play through an issue or not. He has a lot of money but this year he would take home $8 million so you'd almost think one more year for your last big payday. Id assume this wasnt something he was leaning towards previously cause if so, Jets would have had a lot of money to play with in free agency. And they're clearly hoping he decides to play. Ultimately, he doesnt owe us anything so if he hangs em up, we were lucky to have him.

  39. I disagree. There are certainly areas that have challenges, just like Winnipeg, but it's growing and evolving. Saskatoon and Regina are both great little cities. And, cities are made up of the people and, despite their green handi-cap, the people of Saskatchewan are great people.

  43. #11 has been out of circulation for the most part since 1967. It was worn during the pre-season in '69 & '70 because the Bombers only had a limited number of jerseys available. In that era the only numbers that the Blue Bombers had prepared 10-19 were 10, 11, 12 & 14. Harry Knight wore #11 on October 26, 1975 - that was an Alberta Golden Bears jersey so technically it doesn't count. #28 was last worn by Wylie Turner in 1986. It was taken out of circulation in 1987. #63 was last worn by Chris Walby in 1996. #75 was last worn by Stan Mikawos in 1986. It was taken out of circulation in 1987 - Mikawos changed to #77 #85 was last worn by Milt Stegall in 2008. #97 has been worn in a pair of regular season games by Ivan Brown (2015). It has also been assigned to a handful of players in pre-season as well as a practice roster player. #6 was taken out of circulation 2003-2009. In 2010 Frank Wilczynski was assigned #6 as a practice roster player. It was officially reinstated in 2013 for Brett Cameron. #1 was taken out of circulation 1938-1983. Todd Hons was assigned #1 in 1984-1985. Jeff Jenkins in 1988 was the first to wear #1 in a regular season game in over 50 years.
