  1. Losing isn't proof that the call was wrong. It's proof that the defence didn't do their job. Calling a time out when you want to drain the clock is the opposite of what MOS should do. The Argo game and the Als game were the same. Big leads lost. The LDC was just a walk off FG after a drive, not a complete collapse. This wasn't a normal loss. It was the first time in Bomber history that we lost a game when we were up by 24 points. Worst collapse ever. That's what pisses me off. It shouldn't have happened.

  2. I did. Was a good event despite the collapse. Some players really bummed out especially at the start. Events like that dont just serve to give favor to the fans, its a good boost for the team too. And they needed it. Bailey and fenners table was very lively. They had some great moments with a couple kids and a disabled fan. Every time some one whipped out the phone half of willys table would pose for pics with fans. Wolitarsky was very talkative and positive. You could tell how hard the loss was for the STs aces. Those guys sell out and bust ass to make a difference, had a rough game and we had a bad loss. But over all it was very enjoyable and up lifting for fans and the team.

  3. I'm sorry but analysis without looking at the types of plays called is just a waste of time. No one ever said they stopped throwing passes, you have missed the entire point.

  5. Whitehead caught everything thrown to him... He got one of our few first downs in the second half... not his fault that Lapo decided to gameplay for Mike Miller... Woli not involved in the game at all other than blocking schemes... Petermann sits while Miller gets his number called - hard to understand

  6. the smart decision is to yes...run the ball to kill out the clock...but maybe run something with some variation...or use someone else to cross up the defense, run a play the defense hasn't seen yet, it's pretty easy concept but we seem to never get it right. Christ you have a horse in Streveler they should have ran back to back QB sweeps to the wide side...slide protection and all receivers out front blocking or pulling defenders away...long developing runs that would take off time on the clock if anything. Streveler in space...coming around the end in full gallop...blockers out front...do you not think he wouldn't have gotten at least 1 first down doing that??..obviously Lapo in his wisdom didn't because he ran two pansy plays which netted lost yards I believe and took what...12 seconds off the clock

  7. Well...according to the accepted laws of physics the expansion of the universe should have slowed, stopped and began to retract at some point. Instead it continues to accelerate to the point that cosmologists theorize that at some point in the distant future our descendants will look skyward and not see one single star. In short...the universe doesn't make any more sense than this team.

  8. Had to stay away from here for the remainder of the weekend to let myself cool down. I can't remember being that upset over a loss in a long long time. Still unbelievable that they lost. However, this time last year things were looking even worse. Bombers still control their destiny, they've made the playoffs. Just need to stop thinking the game is one with 30 minutes left in it. Also I really like the way Streveler is developing. Made a few mistakes, but also made a few great plays. Here's hoping he continues movin on up.

  9. At some point you'd think we'd luck into one ala Toronto is 2012 and 2017, BC in 1994 and 2000, Ottawa in 2016 or Saskatchewan in 1989. Frustrating as heck.

  11. Paraphrasing... We're stupid for for feeling emotional after the loss. Streveler sucks. We would have won if Nichols was in. We're stupid for having opinions. Condescension. Derision. Self righteousness. A little extra condescension for good measure.

  13. To be fair... where they gave them the ball all it took was forcing them to only gain 10-15 yards per attempt and they probably don't have enough time to score a TD. The breakdown that gave them a 50 yard bomb and left them on our 20 with 20 seconds left was the real issue

  14. So, when do we hear from the CFL that perhaps something more should have been called when Adams went a little berserk on Bighill...with a weapon? Wednesday? Thursday? Tuesday?

  18. Three times, we have lost a game, where the opposition starts on a long field, and drives right down for the winning score, with 10 seconds or less to go. If anybody wishes to chastise me for being angry and critical of this.....have at it. Just an hour ago, two people saw my Bomber shopping bag, coming out of MEC.....and wanted to talk about the weekend choke job.

It's not like V. Adams has a rocket arm, he was throwing up rainbows that the D-backs were easily knocking down and coming close to picking off...until they weren't, then miraculously the Als receivers were getting behind the secondary for big gains. As for Hecht, he never uses his arms when tackling, he launches himself horizontally and usually whiffs or bounces off receivers with no damage done, kind of like a dud skud missile.

  22. In the first half they ran two sweeps with great success , one to Demski and one to Whitehead and on that 2nd and short Streveler ran for that beautiful 30 + yard score untouched.

  23. Given riders soft schedule, that horseshoe entire horse stuffed up their collective asses and the fact the football gods seem to love shitting on this team- the riders will get first place with a bye and a home playoff game. It seems to me that type of season... shoot me now.

  25. on a bright side to this game though....until they Neutered Streveler in the second half, I think made a huuuge stride and has settled right in...more experience and reps with his unique skill-set..look out. That INT as well was a perfect play by the DB...He gambled and read the play right and won....left his man and jumped the route...Happens to the best of the best. You learn from that and next time you bait that guy and go over top and hit the guy that was left free....I'm sure that is in the memory bank and I guarantee you next time we will show/run that play early in a game and the second time we run it will bait that DB and burn them. That was in no way a poor throw, or bad read...The DB just made a great play...something they are paid to do too....it just so happened that it made LAPO turtle like usual and we became ultra conservative and predictable...does same thing with Nichols

  26. you can say it all you like, but it's still going against the natural tendencies of those guys. And you know I don't think O'Shea is totally opposed to the philosophy, and that's OK, but sometimes they go way way too far. Actually this game I am less angry at Ritchie Hall than I am at Lapo. Were some big busts in the coverage that gave up too many big chunks in short order, that you can say the players missed their assignments. Lapo is the guy I am angry at. You dominate the entire first half and take your foot so far off the gas in the 2nd half that it forces the defense into the situation where they need to make stops. That's just unacceptable. You put together one of those long drives in the 4th quarter you don't have to worry about the Als coming back.

  27. But the defense played well on Saturday in the first half. How does Hall get a pass in that loss (the defense allowed 21 points and nearly 250 passing yards in the 4th quarter)?

  29. Well when one team adjusts (Mtl) and the other does the same things with no adjustments/counter or use of what worked to set other things up (Wpg) then totally abandons it all together for whatever reason with what looked like no real game plan whatsoever and play to sit on a lead and not commit any errors...well you see the result...again This is modus oparandi with Lapo...always has been. Even a team spying Streveler would have been easily exploited and we just don't seem to make the in-game adjustment to counter anything. They should have a scenario already in place that if thats what they are doing, or spying Harris and it is easily flushed out by putting Harris in motion, or moving him outside the box...then you use your guy (WHITEHEAD) who would exploit teams in that scenario where he slides in and runs constant quicj=k bang routes or slants with him in that open space..but nope...we do nothing of the sort This team..especially on offence always shuts it down when they have a nice lead and then when they need to turn it back on...they cant...and thats how football works with momentum..if we had an O.C with a set of onions on him at worst we would be 12-1 right now...I hang 3 of those 4 losses squarely on him...not on Hall or the defense...

Booch can answer better than I, but I suspect that all you need do is stack the box and get a linebacker to spy on Streveler all the time. The obvious answer to that is to lob the ball into the medium 10 yard area to a tall receiver who can both catch and run (hello Drew Wolitarsky- anyone remember him 'cause the offensive game plan didn't).

  32. Yeah you are probably 100% on that tbh...and I suppose it isn't realistic to expect any player to call out anyone for the failings we continue to experience...but damn it I'd sure like MOS to provide some perspective or take some responsibility. This is really the part that sticks in so many craws...definitely mine. We finally have the talent yet continue to experience the same troubling issues.

  33. After 29 years why can't we demand a Cup? It should be our time. The Argos have won twice since 2010 which is total bullshit.

  34. I dunno, Hecht holding out his hands and shrugging could actually be a very diplomatic way of pointing fingers at no one in particular, and everyone at the same time. Even a shoot-from-the-hip guy like Hecht isn’t going to stick his chin out and go, “you know the f$cken stupid blitzes coach Hall calls just hang us out to dry over and over”. In some ways Deiter Fan, I agree that yes the progress isn’t as good as we fans would like it to be. The shortcomings of the coordinators’ philosophies are still there, while Kyle Walters has built a roster that went from just being happy to be there, to the kind team that makes us argue about why they aren’t 11-2 or 12-1. I also have to add that when O’Shea wants the O to run the ball, he probably envisioned the run plays that gashed Montreal in the 1st half, and Lapo just went full-Lapo...

  35. I'm on it! As of this post, it's 4 days, 22 hours, 40 minutes until kickoff, I'm sure I'll be perfectly rowdy by then if I keep up my drinking habits from the past ~36 hours (notably escalating half-way through the 4th yesterday).

  38. Yeah except for the fact that they did the exact same thing in Toronto over the summer. You let it happen once and you can say OK they got cocky and a bad thing happened, but twice is the starting of a pattern.

  40. See- it's **** like this that gets my goat. No one is saying that the loss is solely on the refs for not ejecting vaj. It's an issue, a huge one that has big ramifications. The Bombers did enough (didn't do enough?) to lose that game, but that shouldn't dismiss the fact vaj should have been ejected. I don't think anyone would have thought that would have been a controversial call if they ejected him.

  41. I would settle for being in the Cup game and even if we lose a close game. In a one-game winner-take-all, anything can happen, but getting there is non-negotiable for me.

  42. Blaming this deal on the non-ejection for Adams.....is just getting too many people off the hook - players and coaches. Just because he stayed in the game didn't mean that the D had to completely collapse again

  44. I totally get people feeling dejected and pessimistic after losses like this especially when they are not isolated instances...and I totally get people choosing to remain positive even after losses like this regardless how often they occur. What I will never get is people seeming to taking negative comments directed at the team personally and lashing out at commenters.
