  1. Stats dont change in value when you win or lose. 100 yards passing in a win is worth as much as 100 yards passing in a loss. That is just a sad level of bitterness. Some one tell milt his career meant nothing because he didnt win. 264 yards, 84%+ completion percentage, 4 tds. If that isnt good enough to win idk what is. One pick, on an aggressive toss where the DB read it and cut on it perfectly. One other toss that was a poor toss, and a good throw away under pressure. Id take that performance from him every day of the week. Not to mention he did that while being hamstrung by plops passive offense. If we mixed in some deep balls god only knows what he could have done.

  2. Derek Taylor (on 620 radio in Regina) was just going off on the CFL today for not throwing Adams out. He said absolutely the Bombers would have won if the right call was made. He interviewed Arash Madani who agreed and said the CFL needs to be held accountable. Taylor further commented that if the tables were turned and Bighill had hit Adams with his helmet "he would have been suspended for the entire year!"

  3. mere blips in what is the grand scheme of a season...other teams too have had gaffs...that being said, no other team has shown the sheer domination during games .for extended periods like Winnipeg has, and some of those early games where we were basically over at halftime, and we coasted breeded a bit of complacency...with players and coaches...figuring we just had to show up for the last bit of a game and play safe and we would win...Toronto game showed different...Sask labour day one was basically 2 minutes of a combination of things so I'm not grouping that into the T.O and MTL collapses. This team learned a lesson in T,O...had it hammered home in MTL...from a mindset of a former player, that WON'T happen again. Sometimes you need a few slaps upside the head to get a point across to someone....these were our slaps....And I am gonna go on record now saying we close out going 4-1...and sit and wait for whover comes outta the slugfest of the WSF

  4. Calgary has done the exact same thing this year, twice at home. Blew a 15 point lead against Ottawa, gave up a late TD to lose. Had a 14 point lead on Hamilton and lost, gave up a late TD there. Up 11 with under 2 minutes against Montreal, gave up a 96 TD yard drive in 51 seconds, then a 2 point convert, then an onside kick, then 2 TDs in overtime. Anyone concerned about them right now? And hey, concern is one thing. Demanding that we gas our coordinators immediately and not even let them fly home is another. We are 9-4 with the #1 scoring offence and #1 red zone offence in the league. Sky is not falling.

  7. Slowly? I’ve seen steady regress for 5 years. The league is growing embarrassing.... Coming from a die hard fan through and through. League has a lot of problems

  8. I disagree... You don't need a tendency breaker when it's a gimme on 3rd down every time. Best short yardage team in the league by a mile.

    Vernon Adams Jr suspended

Just spoke to #CFL director of officiating Darren Hackwood about why Vernon Adams was not ejected for swinging his helmet at Adam Bighill. "It's a miss," he said. "It's safe to say that he should have been ejected for what he did." They admitted they screwed up. The rest of what you want are just platitudes.

  12. I'm terribly sad for the guy. Hefney was my favorite Bomber while he was here. No priors. Gave back to the community. This is him in 2018 after an expensive and painful surgery to the shoulder he destroyed in 2015 (while entertaining us). He was finally regaining grip strength and feeling in his fingers 3 years after the injury. The CFL covered his expenses for 12 obligatory months then cut him off. I believe there was a grassroots fundraising effort in the CFL community that helped raise money for his surgeries. It's a crying shame this is where he ended up.

  16. Also... this franchise has been struggling the last several years, and we need to ensure they are doing well and increasing attendance, so a winning record is paramount. Oops, we didn't say that out loud, did we!?

  17. Lapolice does less with more better than anyone. It's actually remarkable how consistent his offense has been in stalling for entire quarters and halves over almost half a decade, like can score 3-4 TD's in little more than a quarter then in the same game not get a first down for a quarter.

  19. Fair enough. Just to be clear to all members here I'm not advocating that we do...or not do...something. To be honest while I've followed this team since the 70s it's never been a hobby for me like it has for some of the more learned members here. My comments in many instances are not coming from a place of deep knowledge of the intricacies of the game but rather from the point of an interested/invested observer. I may be a student of the human condition/tendencies and feel I can speak confidently about that aspect but not the complicated ins and outs of the game...so please don't take my comments as dismissive or arrogant. They are certainly not intended that way.

  21. Not only was he raw as an HC when he got the job... the team was a dumpster fire due to bad mgmt and a revolving door of coaches and GM's. Walters and O'shea decided to try and build a consistent championship contender, which means not pulling a Taman and trading away all your draft picks on aging vets. That combination was going to end up in ALOT of losses for their first couple of years (combined with the fact we really didn't have a QB until we acquired Nichols)

  23. Bitter how? Is his opinion wrong? He played here for five years, four in a leadership role under the same DC whose system continues to show some ugly warts at very inopportune times. I think if anyone's qualified to have an opinion on it, it'd be Moe Leggett. Maybe he's a bitter about the way his career ended in the CFL; I think anyone as talented and passionate about the game would be, too. That's irrelevant, though. His pointing out what ails the defense when asked about it isn't without merit. He hit the nail on the head, IMO: the Bombers weren't playing to win. They were playing not to lose. And that's something we've seen a few too many times now in 2019.

  24. the Leggett thing was posted elsewhere already....all I get from it is a guy who's no longer in the league and kind of bitter about it.

  26. Sure, most plays have multiple reads that can lead to several different routes being run or result in different progressions. For instance, any receiver may have three or more route options depending on whether there how the DB is shading or whether the safety is sitting high or moves up. If the QB and the receiver get one of those reads wrong, then it looks like the QB has a bad throw, takes a sack when he shouldn't, or takes the checkdown. The QB knows that he doesn't have to call an audible because the defense just told him that he has another option anyway. That is why QB's don't come into their own until they have been around for long enough to be able to process the defense. Running QB's do better out of the gate because they just run when they can't process what is happening. That will only go so far though. Sooner or later, he has to learn to make plays from the pocket.

  29. Thing is they don’t have to guess anymore with the replay booth. They are allowed to overrule the game officials on rough play situations. They can’t hide behind the “speed of the game” stuff anymore. The officiating is getting worse, not better. Horrendous mistakes, usually involving replay, affect the outcome of a handful of games which has an effect on which teams get home playoff games or even who gets into the playoffs. There’s no other league in sports that has botched the use of replay like the CFL.

  33. The worst thing the Bombers could do is play tentatively. If they cannot play with the same fervour that they had for the first half of the last game, they are going to struggle. The Tabbies are not a dominant team, but a good one.

  36. CFL Headlines Head CFL official admits referees erred by failing to eject Vernon Adams Jr.: The CFL’s director of officiating admitted Vernon Adams Jr. should have been tossed from the game for his helmet swing at Adam Bighill. “It’s a miss. Although it can’t be confirmed, through any source, there was mention of allowing the games the Bombers play, to be two 1st halves played consecutively. No 2nd halves involved. I really do forget who mentioned it.

Shows you the kind of person behind the pro fossil fuel movement. The avalanche of attacks on Greta Thunberg are a sure sign that she is succeeding, and they know it. 39. I personally think it has more to do with the fact that they're playing BC this week. He's being all holier-than-thou about "accepting his punishment" but if it was Calgary they were playing, I'm wondering if he doesn't appeal...

  40. I watched the game just like everyone else and while I *believed* he hit Bighill with the helmet and deserved an ejection, I didn't actually see the helmet hitting Biggie. We could infer that he was hit but without clear evidence of that how can they toss a team's starting QB?

  41. They have blown 2 massive leads and had 3 games where they gave up late scoring drives to lose. That is a concern because they could have been running away with the division but these recurring problems have prevented it. That is a concern.

  45. MOS said something last night that may lend some credence to the top-down notion Paraphrasing... The guys came in at half-time all fired up over the lead talking about how they were going to run it up in the second half and I told them to calm down and re-focus...which is what good coaches are supposed to do, right? Maybe that was the wrong thing to do. Maybe I should have let them feed off their bravado. Players feed off momentum and he wanted them to forget about all the momentum they built up in the first half and go out as if it was zero-zero.

  46. I appreciated the read and effort and it's nice to see a breakdown! The only problem with that was it DOES matter what plays were called, and without it, the whole point is moot. The problem with LaPo is it's always: first and ten, hand off up the middle. Draw or screen, MAYBE some stupid 4 yard curl. Punt. Yeah the frequency is the same, but at that point in the game it's so much more predictable due to the circumstance.
