The Atlantic: "He’d have us believe that this is a campaign promise kept: an America First foreign policy that refuses to risk American blood or waste U.S. dollars in the Middle East. “Now,” he claims, “we are slowly & carefully bringing our great soldiers & military home.” But it isn’t so. Take it from the Pentagon reporter at Fox News, who reports, “Since May, U.S. forces have increased in Middle East by ~14,000 ... In another tweet, Trump declared, “The Endless Wars Must End!” To which a noninterventionist congressman, Justin Amash, retorted, “Then we’ll need a new president who will end them. President Trump has had nearly three years to end them and has done zero. He keeps sending more troops to the Middle East … He vetoed legislation that would have limited U.S. involvement in the Yemen war.” yeah, he's lying. He always lies. Which is what other liars like about him. STILL WAITING FOR ALL THOSE FRAUDULENT VOTER LINKS

  6. There are not a lot more Rider fans than Bomber fans. We just don't dedicate all our spare time to the Bombers. Other interests like pro hockey, big city entertainment, actual lakes and rivers (not man made resevoirs) to visit and use in the summer time, and a multitude of other things that Sask cannot offer to it's residents due to the diminutive size of it's cities, keep us busy. I suppose if I lived in a province as devoid of opportunities as Saskatchewan my spare time might be all spent being a Bomber fan. Fortunately, we do not have to be fanatical in Winnipeg. We have lots of things to do and the Bombers are just one of them. You keep stroking your Rider jersey in boredom and trolling Bomber sites if that's what gives you relief from the boredom that living in Saskatchewan surely must bring. However, lets call a spade a spade. Your fanbase suffers from little man syndrome. Because you live in a province with big towns and no cities you guys are like chihuahuas. Always yapping at the bigger dogs in the yard trying to prove your cities measure up and the Riders have become the extension of this because it is literally the ONLY thing Sask has on the national stage. Fortunately for us here in Winnipeg, we use a much bigger ruler to measure our size, it's called the NHL. You guys aren't even in the same weight division.

Where are these reports? I'd think that would be big news on any site if O'Shea turned down an extension.

Well Calgary has been a pretty big ******* hump! It's almost like not winning the west during the esks dynasty days. Me I got no problem keeping the gm and head coach who turned around a tire fire and built a team that is always competitive for a while longer. But some of you with the championship or just mentality... that's how this mess started in the first place! Ritchie can't get em over the hump fire him! Look at the cycle that took.

Correct. They both signed 3-year extensions in 2016, which added three years to Walters existing contract that went until 2017. He's here for another year and hopefully more. MOS likes to let his contracts run out betting on himself. I expect him back next year and hopefully for many more.

Turning down a contract offer doesn't mean much. He likely believes in himself (rightfully so) and was thinking if I sign one now and win the cup next year I could be shorting myself some $$. Why not wait and see how the season unfolds. He took the risk of completely shitting the bed as well. But you either bet on yourself or you don't. He has.

  14. god it's not like Streveler makes an inordinate amount of mental errors on the field. I actually think he sees the field quite well. His ints are mostly a case of him trying to force something. That doesn't speak to lack of intelligence to me, more like a guy who tries to make something happen. God remember Khari Jones? He threw a pile of ints, but he made a pile of plays too because he was forcing the issue. and a lot of his ints aren't even because of bad reads either, some of them, like for example the one to Adams in the endzone was just a throw that wasn't put where it needed to be. Guy even said that on the post game interview. Every time I hear him talk he seems to know what he did wrong and what he should have done. I have no questions about his intelligence on field or off. He's just raw and needs some experience to put the whole package together.
    3 points
  15. You compare him to all Hall OF Famers...future Hall of Famers?...thats pretty heady comparison...save for Reilly right now nobody else in the league is at that level, or most likely will ever get to that level so thats a pretty poor comparison. All scouting reports, past coaches, draft profile...current coaching staff and people I have talked to have all stated his intelligence, and how quickly he can absorb things...picking out 1 or 2 or 3 errors he has made as reason to say he doesn't possess superior intelligence is kind of laughable...almost like cherry picking stats to prop a guy up versus someone else. What other new QB who has ever laced up in the league starting out hasn't been prone to throwing a pick, or forcing a ball...even the aforementioned guys you stated did that and also late in their careers...faulting a guy for trying is hardly an indication of "not" having it. He came into the league as a fresh rookie..with 3 weeks exposure to Canadian ball after barely 2 years experience as a College QB and should have won his season opener against EDM...and won his second start, and should have 2 more wins this year as a starter if not for the defensive collapses, so I would say as a 24 year old he is picking the game up pretty damn well and fast....tho it seems here opinions will vary amoung the masses and the less informed/experienced I will take what has been said by coaching staffs, draft analysis and scouting report people and teamates, as well as my own observation anytime over forum analysts..sure he may not be ready for primetime but saying he is average at picking up Canadian game is a real reach, and your opinion soley...based on what I am not sure...same question can be asked that you asked me...you base his trouble grasping the game based on what??..Nine starts? and cause he has thrown some forced picks?..a couple of which no real fault of his

    Week Of Bombers @ Stamps

You might want to re watch the game, or maybe it was a completely different game you were watching. In the First half, Steveler had 1 dropped pass in the red zone, one int. Which was a 50/50 ball the rec basically gave up on and a TD pass. In the 2nd half he had one pass attempt in the red zone and it was a throw away after the pocket collapsed and he had to roll out and no one got open. In the 4th everytime they got close to the redzone all they did was run. I'm not saying he lit it up, but he certainly wasnt horrible.

  19. If Strev doesn't at least try to complete deeper throws, teams will key on our run game and stuff it most of the time. That will hurt us more than the interceptions he's thrown.

It has been 30 years. So what? Why do people keep bringing that up when talking about this regime? They are not responsible for 30 years. They're responsible for 6, and the first two of those was righting the organization. So really, we're looking at the past four. Know who else hasn't won in the last four years? The Bombers and four other teams, in other words, the majority of the teams in the CFL. I swear to god that the next guy that mentions the "30 year drought" and the current organization should have this happen to him:

I think a liberal Government being kept in check by a progressive party is a good thing. Maybe that will stop this whole campaign left of center and govern right of center bullshit game the Liberals play.

  28. No, just the second longest tenured coach who can't win. Don't know how Walters can sell another 3 years of the same old to fans if this team under O'Shea fails in the playoffs once again. I actually like Mike. He's a decent guy but at some point he has to be held accountable for failing to win. IF he doesn't win again this post season.

  29. Wideleft, I believe that candidates & their parties have to earn the right to get a vote. The NDP, Liberals & Greens have done absolutely no campaigning in my riding. I've been involved in small ways in previous provincial campaigns when I lived in Winnipeg years ago so I understand the political process. We just look at it differently. You believe that I should go online & look up the candidates who are ghosting my riding. My attitude is that if a political party or in this instance, political parties have written off my riding then I believe that they haven't earned the right to ask for my vote & they won't get it. Yesterday, my PPC candidate got into a pissing contest on facebook after he was called a Nazi. He responded by attacking the CPC & Scheer & came across as a nutjob. I know who I'm voting for Monday.

Turkey ‘effectively holding 50 US nuclear bombs hostage’ at air base amid Syria invasion White House officials scrambling to retrieve weapons of mass destruction, reports say An estimated 50 US nuclear bombs are effectively being held hostage in Turkey as Washington attempts to find a diplomatic way of responding to the country’s invasion of Syria, officials are reported to have warned. The withdrawal of American troops from northern Syria – creating a power vacuum that has allowed Turkey and Russia to move into the region and displace Washington’s Kurdish allies – has caused international outcry. And as even his supporters accuse the White House of betraying its allies, Donald Trump has been forced to escalate his opposition to Turkey’s Recep Tayyip Erdogan, threatening to “destroy” his counterpart's economy and contract America’s alliance with Ankara. However, the rapid pace of withdrawal and the tumultuous decline of relations between the two countries has left administration officials scrambling to find a plan for the nuclear weapons stored under American control at the shared Incirlik Air Base in south east Turkey, reports said. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/turkey-syria-us-nuclear-weapons-bombs-trump-war-isis-kurds-a9158416.html

  34. Come on! He calls the plays he's given. It's written on his little playbook attached to his sleeve. You know how it works on this team -- you play the way you're told to play, no exceptions. Start freelancing and you're sitting on the bench. He's smart enough to do as he's told isn't he? How many of the QBs you've listed above have had to play for Lapo? What kind of receiving corps did the QBs you've mentioned have? The kid is saddled with a timid OC and a weak set of receivers and you know this so why keep dumping on him? The fact he has been as successful as he has proves his intelligence given what he has done with what he has been given. If he had Rogers, Walker, Begelton, Banks, Myala, Ellingson, Green, Williams, Posey, etc. to throw to how smart would he look then? Because he can't make great tasting chicken salad out of chicken **** doesn't make him stupid!

  45. I'll bite. Let's compare apples to apples shall we? Not what an 8 year vet has accomplished compared to a guy who has less than a full season of playing time under his belt. Through Nichols first 23 games with Edmonton (Streveler has been in 24): 270 / 443 (60.9% completion rate) for 3386 (12.5 yards per completion) with 19 TDs and 18 interceptions. He added 36 carries for 138 yards (3.8 yards per carry) and 3 touchdowns Streveler by comparison: 224 / 347 (64.5% completion rate) for 2564 yards (11.44 yards per completion) with 18 TDs and 17 interceptions. He added 182 carries for 1089 yards (5.7 yards per carry) and 22TDs See .. stats are fun! 😉

  46. Exactly. Weve seen mop candidate QBs fold in the GC, and average or worse QBs dominate. The GC is about who gets hot, and wants it more. Can he carry us through a season and to a GC game right now? Not likely over the course of a season. But he doesnt have to. Its late in the year, our play off ticket is punched, and we have a team that doesnt need to be carried. We have the best RB of the era healthy and with a large chip on his shoulder. We have arguable the best D in the league, a D that can do it all. We have guys who have won it all, and tremendous leaders on both sides of the ball. Weve seen Streveler dominate at times, you cant by any means expect it from him consistently currently. But he is capable of contributing heavily to team wins against any one in the league. Weve had to make due with worse before.

If you're expecting a 2nd year guy with limited pro and college starts to be perfect... well then I'm not sure what to tell you... I'd also like to see more from Streveller... but to give up on him already would be a mistake...
