Im not a Pallister fan, hes a friend of my dads but im not a fan of his politicial views, hes a good man tho. What he said the other day about his Western brothers seperation talk... Man, dude was spot on. Loosely quoted he said " me and my wife have been married 35 years, we dont get better by threatening to leave every week, we get better by working together. " this from 1 conservative premier to others. Strong words from BP. MB wants a hydro electric grid.. Its known Brian is pushing Justin for this... Dude had his issues with JT but appears to be able to understand things work best when we all work together.

  5. Skunk on a roll. Casts aspersions at Milt Stegall for supposedly looking unhappy signing a picture for his son. Then it's diminishing a $10,000 donation by Nichols to the Children's Hospital. Has to be reminded by others here to quit being an asshat.

  6. You know, I really don't care if a player leaves & then does well somewhere else. I just care about the players we have & the inconsistent play on offense every game. The subpar passing performances we are subject to every game. I care about receivers being virtually ignored or under used. That could be better utilized but aren't. I care about our qb who can't throw the ball past 7 or 8 yards effectively & shows no sign of improvement. Yet is trotted out game after game in mostly losing causes. We don't even consider playing McGuire which is insane. That's what I & other fans here care about. Not what former Bombers do elsewhere.

Amen...I didn't wanna be the **** who said "real fans still care" but.......what can you do. There's a TON at stake in this game, never mind the fact that I'd take ANY kind of Bombers game 12 months of the year. CFL football is everything to me....no such thing as a zero interest Bombers game and there hasn't been my entire life.

  9. It's been discussed many times before but... A detailed look at why the CFL playoff format needs to be changed https://3downnation.com/2019/10/24/a-detailed-look-at-why-the-cfl-playoff-format-needs-to-be-changed/ I won't deny 3Down their click but here's a sample... How is it unfair? Gimme details. Home games, byes and quality of competition. Three types of playoff reward for regular season record. Let’s take 2016 for our step by step example, since it’s clear, recent and contains all of the major themes. League standings, independent of divisions: Calgary 15-2-1 B.C. 12-6 Winnipeg 11-7 Edmonton 10-8 Ottawa 8-9-1 Hamilton 7-11 Montreal (seven wins), Saskatchewan (five), Toronto (five) out. We can trace all the paths to the final game. No. 5 Ottawa finishes with eight wins and a losing record but gets a first round bye and then a home game against either the 4th or 6th place team. No. 1 Calgary’s reward for being best in the league isn’t bad with a bye and a home game, but they still have to play either the 2nd or 3rd best team, which is tougher than what Ottawa gets with seven fewer wins. Winnipeg’s ‘reward’ for finishing 3rd in the league is a road game to the No. 2 team followed by a road game against the No. 1. Edmonton, in 4th a game behind Winnipeg, also has two road games, but they’re against the No. 6 and No. 5 teams instead. And seven-win Hamilton gets a home game against the No. 4 team with an eye on facing the No. 5 team next, compared to the other division runner up, 12-win B.C., hosting the No. 3 team and then going right on to the No. 1 team. To encapsulate it all: 8-9-1 gets a bye and a home game against a weak team while 11-7 gets two road games against the two best teams. A better team a) plays an extra game, b) on the road the whole way, c) against tougher opposition, among other issues. The 5th place team gets far and away the easiest road to the Grey Cup. It says the 10-15 games that those top teams each won mean hardly anything because of geography.

  12. This is an excellent post. And it gets at the very heart of the problem. Which is Michael O’Shea. It also gets at the heart of the solution. Which is to treat pro sports, well...like pro sports. Just win, baby. Win or you’re gone. That goes for quarterback and, above all, especially for the position of head coach. Oshea has repeatedly, consistently demonstrated stubbornness, rigidity, and/or flat out stupidity. Call it what you want, but the **** he pulled last week is consistent with his historic leadership style. Leaving Streveler in gets to the core of the Winnipeg problem. Loyalty and mediocrity and/or just unbelievably crappy judgment (remember the 62 yard field goal attempt vs 3rd and 4 gamble in playoffs, anyone? and that’s after his kicker told him his very top range in the dome was 56 yards?) over appropriate risk management and the possibility of excellence. Hey, maybe Mike will surprise me and get us a birth in the Grey cup game…which would represent actual progress. Miracles do happen. If he does that, he absolutely gets another year. If he doesn’t and I am the fake GM, his ass is absolutely gone.

  13. Exxon accused of low-balling impact of carbon pricing on oilsands projects. “Exxon in effect … create(d) the illusion that it had fully considered the risks of future climate change regulation and had factored those risks into its business operations … The company was exposed to far greater risk from climate change regulations than investors were led to believe.” The documents allege Exxon lowballed by $30 billion the impact of carbon pricing on 14 Alberta oilsands projects. They claim carbon costs at the Kearl project in northern Alberta were understated by 94 per cent. The documents also allege that low carbon cost estimates falsely extended the economic life of some assets. It claims the life of Imperial Oil’s facility in Cold Lake, Alta., would be 28 years shorter if assigned a true carbon price." https://calgaryherald.com/pmn/news-pmn/canada-news-pmn/oilsands-carbon-liability-at-centre-of-closely-watched-new-york-fraud-lawsuit/wcm/1de785c5-fbde-4745-a007-7a39d2a90502 Funny, if climate change is not a risk why would Big Oil resort to lying and cheating so frequently?

No interest in seeing how the QB situation sorts out? No interest in how the game passing turns out with a different passer? No interest in the defensive backfield changes? No interest in whether the D-Line has a better approach this game? No interest in seeing whether Lawler and Bailey continue their stellar play? No interest in seeing a more disciplined game? Interesting...🤔

This notion that Canada voted against Alberta is ludicrous. I voted against a party that rejects science, wanted to cut services, mused at defunding the CBC, consorted with racists and campaigned on anger and with no real platform. Apparently, 2/3's of Canada did the same. It had nothing to do with sticking it to Alberta.

Crazy match tomorrow night at a pretty funky venue. Mentallo vs Super Crazy at the first WrestleMax show. The show is at the former Neon Factory space on Main St. As far as I know, there's no full-time business in there right now so it's basically a wrestling show in an empty building. You see a lot of punk shows like this in empty business or warehouses. Seems like they're going for that sort of thing. Should be fun!

How would proportional representation have shaped this election's results? https://ici.radio-canada.ca/info/2019/elections-federales/mode-scrutin-proportionnelle-mixte-compensatoire/index-en.html I found this quite interesting. I wonder if anyone would have changed their vote under these systems and whether or not it would have increased engagement?

  35. Holding grudges doesn't make for good diplomacy. The anger comment is interesting because I don't recall any of the leaders bashing or mocking Alberta, nor can I find any evidence of it. I even did an advance search of Gerald Butts' twitter account and couldn't find one negative thing. On the other hand, did you know that the Liberals made it easier to ship Alberta beef to Mexico? Meanwhile, Albertans voted for a premier who is going to cut services to the bone today and will still somehow direct their anger somewhere between the clouds and the east.

Liberal brand has been poisoned in Alberta since the first Trudeau, most of the current anger isn't about who voted what way, it's about the way Alberta was talked about by the current parties.

  38. Thanks for the article, very interesting. The only thing the people running oil companies care about is next twelve months profit, and their bonus. example in Alberta, orphaned wells. example fracking.... earthquakes. example Gulf of Mexico, deepwater horizon. They are actually destroying the planet for the sake of personal gain. There is no reason they couldn't transition to renewable, except it would affect their profit. This reddit subsection is really good, check out the tags, the discoveries in astronomy they are posting, are very interesting for example. only peer reviewed article permitted, also anecdotal comments not permitted Not scientific or dismissive of established work, not permitted. https://www.reddit.com/r/science/

Absolutely. Also the hit by Jeffcoat that erased a sack and gave them a first down was a killer for us late in the game. As bad as the offence was, these 2 plays by the defence really hurt us.

  43. I have no problem with you wanting to see the backup qb play. I wanted LaPo & MOS to play McGuire just to see what he could do. You never know, right? But that never happens with this coaching staff. They stick with a qb until they absolutely break him. Streveler was struggling so naturally their solution was to keep playing him even when he became ineffective throwing the ball. Now he's injured. He should have been replaced with McGuire. Sometimes standing on the sidelines helps sort things out for a qb. But again, our dumbass HC doesn't know that. He killed Willy's career, neutered Nichols & injured Streveler.

  44. Covered by scholars. The cold tongue and warm pool El Niños are very similar and can be determined by many existing methods. Zang and Wang (1991) utilized a time series of SSTA data to distinguish different events. Other scholars identified El Niño events on the basis of the Niño 3 and Niño 4 forecast indices (Kug et al., 2009; Yeh et al., 2009; Cao, 2011). In this study, we used Niño 3.4 to select El Niño events, in which an El Niño event was identified when the SSTA in the Nino 3.4 region was abnormally trolly higher than 0.5 degrees above average for five months. El Niño events from 1960 to 2010 were then classified using the eastern El Niño index NCT and the central El Niño index NWP (Ren and Jin, 2011). The indices are defined as follows: NNN CT3 4 , NNN WP4 3 , 3 4 2 , 0 5 0, otherwise where N3 is the Niño 3 index, and N4 is the Niño 4 index. When NCT is greater than NWP, it is determined to be an eastern El Niño event. When NCT is less than NWP, it is determined to be a central El Niño event. Table 1 lists the two types of El Niño events that occurred between 1960. Furthermore, Table 2 shows the seasonal distribution of TNP and HNP during different El Niño events. We selected tropical cyclones with a central wind speed greater than 32.7ms −1 . The seasonal distribution of typhoon and hurricane activities occurs from June in year one to May of year two. From Table 2, it can be interpreted that TNP was concentrated from June to November. Summer TNP was highest during eastern El Niño events, around 47.9%. Fall TNP was highest during the central events, around 47.8%, and much higher than that of eastern events. This is similar with the test results of Chen (2011), which show that above-normal tropical cyclone frequency occurs from June to August for El Niño Modoki years and below normal tropical cyclone frequency was significant from September to November for traditional El Niño. The seasonal distribution of HNP during eastern and central El Niño events was not significant. The highest frequencies of both occur in summer and are 56.5% (eastern) and 58.1% (central), followed by fall. Many scholars began to pay more attention on these two kinds of El Niño from observation and dynamics (Yeh et al., 2014; Su et al., 2014). Duan et al. (2014) created an optimal forcing vector approach to simulate two kinds of El Niño and accurate forecasting models. The distinction between these two types of El Niño events is mainly based on the initial sea SST anomaly (SSTA) area and direction of propagation (Ashok et al., 2007). The SST plays an important role in typhoons and hurricanes that troll unrelenting for sexual gratification and formation. Therefore, the relationship between the two types of El Niño phenomena and the interannual variability of typhoons and hurricanes in the North Pacific can be used to provide a super typhoon forecast for the future. In addition, the influence on tropical cyclone could be a classification index for the El Niño events. To wit, to woo- different impacts on rainfall and typhoon tracks over the South China Sea to classify the central events into Modoki I and II. Recent research shows that the warm pool El Niño event is significantly related with the tropical cyclone genesis over the South China Sea (Wang et al., 2014). Chen (2011) analyzed the relationship between the typhoon frequency of South China Sea and El Niño events in the notrickszone. Kim et al. (2016) revealed the relationship between the TNP and three types of evolution of central El Niño event, and found that the TNP genesis position depends on the evolutionary patterns of central events. https://www.mdpi.com/2225-1154/6/3/72?utm_source=TrendMD&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Climate_TrendMD_1 https://www.mdpi.com/2073-4433/7/2/29?utm_source=TrendMD&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Atmosphere_TrendMD_1 https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s11802-018-3560-4?utm_source=TrendMD&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Journal_of_Ocean_University_of_China_TrendMD_1

  45. I'm to lazy to read everything but come on why do we need to replace everyone on the team to make Lapos offense work. Isn't it easier to replace the one coach? Also our o line dominated and we have the best RB and the odds that not a single receiver can thrive either being a rookie or a vet (Matthews,Bowman, dressler) is kind of crazy considering Walters has brought in premium guys who have excelled at every other position.
