If 11 and 7 with a backup QB for the 2nd half of the season is bad, i hate to be the new coach. Yeesh. Its crazy. Imo we match up well vs both Cal and Sask.. Cal is vulnerable on sp teams.. Sask is just not as good as their record. Lots of close wins. U know, i dont hate our chances to rep the West. I think Hammy is the class of the league tho.

  3. The bye is actually working to the Bombers advantage IMO. In some ways playing the WSF is good, two week bye is not a way to go into playoffs. Sask and Calgary will blow their brains out for 1st and 2nd. The way the schedule lines up both games will be meaningful since Sask plays first, they won't know what Calgary's result is and Calgary needs to win either way. The Bombers can prep for both this week and turn their focus onto their WSF opponent on Saturday night.

  4. There’s a power failure at the game. Would it be appropriate for the league to call the game at the half and give Edmonton the win?

  5. Why in the world would Hamilton trade away a younger qb , who has shown more, who is paid less, who is healthier????

  7. How the 'Riders had the easiest schedule ever this season. W1 (at HAM) - Spanked accordingly. W2 (at OTT) - Spanked accordingly, lol you lost to OTT? W3 (vs TOR) - Franklin started this game, TOR was awful, bingo space. W4 (vs CGY) - Spanked accordingly, even with Arbuckle at the helm. W5 - BYE W6 (vs BC) - Worst team in the west, by far. W7 (at BC) - You got these idiots THREE times? W8 (vs HAM) - Hey look! You beat HAM in Evans first start at QB for the year. W9 (at MTL) - First ever CFL game called due to weather, who did you bribe for this one? W10 - BYE W11 (vs OTT) - Another middling team, coming off the bye, nice scheduling! W12 (vs WPG) - You play against Streveler in only his 2nd start this year. W13 (at WPG) - Spanked accordingly. W14 (vs MTL) - Narrowly beat an Al's team on a walk-off FG. W15 - BYE W16 (at TOR) - Bingo space, worst team in the league. Also coming off the bye. W17 (vs WPG) - Seriously, why is Rios even starting? W18 (at CGY) - Spanked accordingly. W19 (at BC) - You get BC... without Mike Rielly. W20 (at EDM) - EDM has nothing to play for, you squeak out a win... barely. W21 (at EDM) - EDM will again have nothing to play for.

  11. Most reasonable people on this board (that excludes some), just want to win -stats are secondary to us. Nichols was a winner - he wasn't flashy, but he often got the job done. He was the best option we had at the time. Collaros' stats weren't flashy, but we need to remember he hasn't played a whole game in about a season and a half...and he had only 2-3 practices where he ran our offense. He likely has a higher ceiling than Nichols (i.e. makes some plays out of nothing). Let's hope he stays healthy for 3 playoff games!

  12. Some of us have the opportunity to go to every home game. A luxury, no doubt, and a privilege. It's also nice to go see the team win and have confidence. I'm not going to dump on the team for going 8-1 at home.

In summary: Records on this night... Andrew Harris—No. 1 all-time in CFL rushing yards by a Canadian, and eclipses 9000 yards. Mike Miller—now No. 2 all-time in CFL career special teams tackles, and most amongst all-time #Bombers (185) Willie Jefferson—most pass knockdowns in a season by a D-lineman (16) It was a good night indeed.

  17. We mixed it early to no success then switched to the 30 front with Jake Thomas at nose which also had no success but we were rushing a lb/db a good bit. The later game d when we got Richardson back involved with heavy mix of blitzing as well as showing blitz and dropping brought lots of success. We even dropped both ends a few times which really messed up blm. That is the identity of halls d but mos has a considerable hand in our defense now too. Thomas is a tremendous rotational ni DT. But starting him takes a lot away from our lines pressure. With Nevis and Richardson inside each end has man to man blocking every snap. Calgary has answered our pressure by going 6 ol with an extra imp on the ol and using metre as an every down black who has great blocking. Our front 4 with Thomas plus 1 lber maybe another rusher isn't going to get pressure on Calgary in that set. Also willy has been heavily torn between pass rushing and playing pass lanes for knock downs. If any 30 front was gonna work against Calgary's 6+1 blocking it's Nevis at nose Richardson and Thomas at end then playing willy in a jack lber rushing from stand up and hand down from lber end inside etc and dropping back under coverage. That way we get a big push on the ol and can push the center back into the pocket. The de at nose stuff left blm with a clean pocket to easily step up into.

It's not just about what they did. It's also about what they were expected to do...what they could have done if they didn't totally crap the bed a few times. I don't want to see respectable/competitive seasons/teams anymore. I want fn domination. I want a coach that coaches to always hit hard...always play to run up the score...NEVER back off with a lead. Dominate...intimidate. Given the players on the roster this year and the maturity of the staff they were expected to be the team I just described. Instead they turned a home run into a double. They've had their shot.

  29. If O Shea moved on I wonder if they'd reach out to Mike Riley...he's an offensive coordinator in the XFL (in their upcoming season, so they'd have to pry him away before the season starts). It would be worth the price of a phone call anyways...

  31. That should have been an easy penalty The defender was aimed at him...low. Had he been lining him up and in the act of trying to hit him while still standing he would have gone over his head. He aimed at him while he was already sliding. That's why he hit him so flush. That the command centre or the refs would not recognize that fact is inexcusable.

  35. Horrendous PI call on what would have been a Esks INT and results in a TD for Arceneaux... The calls have been gloriously one sided in favour of the Riders. Combined with Suitor doing a regional-broadcast job on the colour.... Its almost unwatchable.

  41. My preference would be Streveler / McGuire over Nichols. I'd also rather Collaros over Nichols.
    2 points
  42. Considering he was rusty I was impressed. I didn't see receivers having to dive or go to the ground for routine passes (like with Nichols). One pass in particular he lobbed a slow short pass directly into the hands of Harris without Andrew having to slow down at all. The escapability of the pocket also was light years better then Nichols.

  43. I’m absolutely disgusted knowing that us blowing a game against the Argos is what (likely) cost us a home playoff game.

  44. Impressive thing about collaros last night was his ball placement and catchability. Of 6 incompletions 1 was a pick on him but was a product of lack of experience in the system. 2 throw aways and 2 passes were wrs flubbed. Darvin Adams on the challenge shouldve turned up field sooner on the scramble if he did he probably scores on that play. The other demski half dropped as he was hit from behind. Combine that with the fact we saw soo few second down check downs for half the distance needed or less. And he hit guys in stride a lot. Letting them keep their momentum and not have to come back to the ball a lot. The most accurate passing we've seen in a very long time all in all. Our pass rush really misses having Nevis and Richardson in as starters. Kongbo had a great game too if few stats. Couple pressures couple qb hits a pass knock down and got in on a bunch of gang tackles. The 30 front look with a de at nose was pretty dismal for the ends to play through too.

Morning Big Blue! Had to watch the game this morning as I couldn't view the game live yesterday. Calgary with the 3rd and two gamble early, Bo thought he could throw for 2 yards, and the play gets called back for holding. Made me think, if a team gambles on 3rd down, and takes a holding penalty, they should lose the down too. Anyone agree? Too radical? On the first Zack INT, he is throwing to Adams and Adams takes himself completely out of the play. Geez, I wish he'd at least try to go get the ball. So soft. On the hook-slide by Zack early on, it sure looked like a targeted head shot to me. Zack is down and sliding on his butt when he gets drilled. Glad the defender missed and Zack's shoulder took most of the collision. Definitely had me whincing. Suitor saying the hit is legal because the head shot was launched before Zack slid. What a moron that man is. The 3-man rush is just crazy. Bo with way too much time (as Suitor told us ad nauseum) and if his receivers had had a better day, he eviscerates us. Cuthbert channeling Black today, "Calgary receiver with a great catch! No, he dropped it". Zack looking very comfortable out there. Demski having a good day. Oh man, Calgary getting away with all the late stuff, particularly a hit on Demski after he had brought the ball well into the end zone, yet Exume gets flagged for a borderline hit out of bounds. This reffing crews doesn't like the Bombers, do they? Jefferson gets tackled from behind on the rush. no call. Calgary getting away with lots of holding. Mayala with the scoop off the turf on the 2 yard line. Osh should have challenged that. Next play, TD Calgary. Damn! Calgary with two, long TD drives already. 14-10 Calgary. Rogers with the ****-move running up the stairs to show off to the fans. What a knob. Our D doing the same things as last game and getting the same results. Really? No adjustment Richie? Mayala interviewed at the half, in a very even game to this point, delusional in saying the Stumps should be blowing us out. Is everyone on this team a tool? Medlock having a great day kicking giving us a very short field. Lawler with the quick TD. Very nice. Courtney Stephens with the late head shot on Lawler in the end zone. No call. 17-14 Bombers. Bomber D starting to send the heat and gets a sack by Bighill. Wow. That only took a game and a half for Hall to adjust his D. Impressive. There's hope for this game. Calgary with the clothesline on Grant. Flag thrown. Calgary doesn't handle adversity very well. It seems if you push back on them they get rattled and start playing dirty football. Go Blue! Keep it coming! Adams finally goes after a ball and saves an INT. My gawd, Claire Hanna is b a d. Begelton absolutely destroyed by Maston with a completely clean hit. Of course, the flag is thrown and Dickenson is lobbying for an ejection. What a whiny ***** Dickenson is. Terrible call by the officials. Calgary with the ref-aided drive. O'Shea looking bewildered on the sideline. Not sure why. Maybe that's why. Rogers with the easy TD. Pulls the ****-move again running up into the stands. The fans push him back onto the field. What an ass. HA HA! Paredes with the miss and Grant with the 2-point return! Awesome! Take that Mr. Rogers! LOL! What a tool! 20-19 Calgary. YIKES! Zack throws what should have been a pick to McMannis. Whew! Glad he dropped that. Richie Hall keeps sending numbers and it's paying off. However, Calgary over 300 yards passing now and it's not even the 4th quarter yet. Hall back to rushing 3. Bo with all day back there. Easy TD throw to Mayala. Why Richie, why? Now Calgary throws the easy 2-point conversion. 28-19 Calgary. Not looking good. Zack and Demski with some chemistry. Zack with the scramble and beauty throw to Adams deep in the end zone. TD Bombers! 28-26 Calgary. Richie Hall sends the blitz twice and forces a Calgary punt. Bomber D mixing it up. Adams lucky not to get flagged there. He broke off his route. O'Shea challenge? WTF? Nothing there, lost challenge. Don't understand that. Lawler emerging as the #1 receiver on this team. Hall sends the house again. Bo spots it and hits Begelton in the hands. Begelton drops it. Dickenson challenges and whines that Maston was early. Loses challenge. Hansen having a good game. 2:00 left. Harris sets record. Congrats Andrew! 28-26 Calgary. Bombers driving for a FG. Bailey with a clutch catch. 3rd down gamble. Yes. Bailey again. 3rd down gamble. Yes. 1st and 10. Hand-off to Harris ... he rips off 11! Harris with the bobblehead! Yes!! I love it! Harris runs it in front of the uprights for Medlock. 00:03 left. Medlock with the kick ... Yes. Bombers win. Good way to end the regular season. Bombers 11th win. Go Blue!

  47. Watch the hit on Collaros on the first drive. He shovels the ball when he’s scrambling, one Calgary DL is pulling him down from behind and Jabar Westerman comes from his left and ear holes him with his face mask. That’s an easy RTP call. It’s the 2nd down play before the punt.

  48. **** I'm sick of Riders fan assholes kicking around here. Get the **** gone...

  49. This needs to be underlined. Some really well placed punts by Medlock, never mind his rescuing of an errant snap to get the kick away. 👍
    2 points
  50. Collaros- looked good with not too much film / play book time yet OL - solid pass pro against a good front, they were very good in the 4th Q when it really counted. Rushing attack was average without the dual threat, but we’ll take the W D - made that last stop when it counted. I was questioning the call but they sure proved me wrong HH Medlock - chip shot FG for the win. But more important, some nice punts that pinned the Stamps deep. On a side note, the Stamps’ kicking game probably cost them a win. Missed FG, missed convert, costly decision / terrible punt out of their own end zone
