  2. Yep...Naylor mentioned that Bauming said their take was "It's not good for the league" and Farhan Lalji immediately said "who are they to decide what is or isn't good for the CFL??" and I think that's a really good point.

  3. The team should pick its players then let the media vote for the rest of the process. The coaches and gm of each team know exactly the guys that were most valuable to them.

  4. .....and the next time they stick a mic. in Andrew's face requesting free content to make their living upon, perhaps he should spit right back in their faces. "Don't believe me??? No problem, just **** off".

  5. You can tell me that I care too much about these things, but I am ******* SICKENED by the Winnipeg media, who wouldn't even give him the team nod. FFS! You know the guy...you know he didn't actually INTENTIONALLY ingest a performance enhancer. But you're gonna pull the TBurg and go way too far the other way just to look like you're not homers. Anyone who didn't vote for Harris should be embarrassed....

  7. Just, wow! After we win the Grey Cup, or maybe just before or even during, maybe Andrew Harris can give a "shove it" speech to the Winnipeg media a la Henry Burris.

  8. I do think the league needs to have a rule in place for situations like this, either it being that player in ineligible to receive awards or eligible.

  9. For me, it was Doug Brown that sold me during a pre-game show shortly after it happened. He basically said "trust me, if anyone would know about this stuff, I would....he didn't do it" and said that he got a text from someone in the organization saying "there is absolutely no way he did it because trust me, he's got a Dad-Bod...that dude doesn't juice".....all this, plus the fact that he's been as good or better since he came back from suspension leads me to believing him fully. I was worried for a bit early on, but after doing enough research into it and listening to people who would know, I fully support and believe AH33....

  10. Way to go Bob Irving AND Mike Miller, cudos for standing up for the true heart of the Bombers....Whoever voted against Andrew.(because that's what it amounts to) better check their bull$hit at the door...They call themselves Winnipeger's???I think not ...How can they look themselves in the mirror.. just plain bull$hit...I won't say anymore cuz I'll get thrown off of here...I'm just livid

  11. Both Bob and MOS said they would or did vote for Harris. That leave Wyman Bauming and Friesen. I'm most surprised by Bauming. And honestly disappointed by it. Likely won't be listening to his show anymore.

  12. Just read his excuses. Now I place him even lower than Friesen on the ladder.

  13. Props to Mike Miller for his statement. WPG Sports media that aren't Bob Irving are dead to me. What a bunch of F&*king tools.

  14. Lost all respect for Bauming on this. Cross-contamination is a huge issue and rather than address that, he sticks to the story of the athlete being 100% responsible for their body. That's known as the strict liability policy and other sports are now questioning that line of thinking. There's an article on The Athletic about this right now, with the head of the UFC's anti-doping program. https://theathletic.com/1325861/2019/10/26/in-a-contaminated-world-can-common-sense-prevail-with-the-ufc-anti-doping-policy/

  15. Wyman and the local media just demonstrated why mainstream media is dying and needs to beg governments to bail them out. They are out of touch hacks.
    5 points
  16. Feel the same. If there was even a slight drop off in play from Harris, I could maybe understand. But he's been just as good after the test. Wyman talks about the research he did to come to his conclusion...but I'm not sure what he's looking at. If he did anything he would have seen how long the drug stays in the system, what kind of dose is needed and how often. The answers to all of those questions put doubt into how Andrew would have benefited with the amount he had. Add to that his performance for the games since and the fact that other rb's had 2 games to catch him for the rushing title and still haven't, I'm not sure how anyone could not vote for him? I can understand the league not giving him the award. But his own team/media is a straight up slap in the face.

  18. #Wexit Founders Are Far-Right Conspiracy Theorists VoteWexit.com creator Peter Downing is an ex-cop who thinks PM Justin Trudeau is “normalizing pedophelia.” By Steven Zhou Oct 30 2019, 6:54am "Two main organizers behind #Wexit, the campaign calling for Canada’s prairie provinces to secede, have a prolific history of pushing far-right and anti-Muslim conspiracy theories. Over the past year, Peter Downing, an ex-RCMP officer and Patrick King, a self-styled journalist, have accused Justin Trudeau’s Liberal government of “normalizing pedophilia,” tolerating ISIS terrorists penetrating the country apparently disguised as refugees, and pursuing an immigration policy aimed to “depopulate the white, Anglo-Saxon race.”" https://www.vice.com/en_ca/article/59na9q/wexit-founders-are-far-right-conspiracy-theorists

  22. Thanks for letting us know. Here's a link to his article. Kudos to Wyman for outing himself and explaining his rationale. https://winnipegsun.com/sports/football/cfl/winnipeg-bluebombers/wyman-why-i-did-not-vote-for-bombers-running-back-andrew-harris-for-any-cfl-awards Couple of interesting things. Five voters locally including the head coach. Do you think O'Shea could have voted against Harris? Second - bit contradictory in his rationale. Olympians would have medals revoked, etc., but, Julian Edelman gets suspended 4 games but wins Super Bowl MVP that season, because in his mind it's a "game" award. I still say it was a miss. And a slap in the face to the team, fan base and Harris to vote Miller over him.

  23. Hopes this light more fire in Harris’ belly and have an insane performance in 3 consecutive games. Grey Cup is all the matters.

  24. This shocks me. I fully expected the national media not to pick Harris, but I didn't expect he wouldn't be the team/Winnipeg Media choice.

  27. I get disliking the PM for actual, legitimate reasons but this level of tinfoil hattery is preposterous. Although, I'm sure these two assclowns also accuse him of singlehandedly destroying Alberta's economy, much in the same vein as the rational and objective opinion columns from Bonokoski, Lilley, and Goldstein. So, the clownshoes seem to fit. #rednexit has been trending recently. It's got a nice ring to it.

  29. Harris was eligible and had a far superior season. They decided he wasn't eligible. That's making up their own rules. And, yes, same thing because it's penalized the same.

  30. A few sports journalists chose to play judge, jury, and executioner here - likely as far back as July when the trace amounts BS first came to light. They had all but made up their minds back then, IMO. And yet, Harris continued to dominate this season, having one of his best games just a few weeks ago vs. MTL. So, I guess it begs the question: what "advantage" did trace amounts of some archaic steroid give him exactly? It's just a goddamn shame... A dominant, historic season mired in some stupid, shitty controversy. It really grinds my gears.

  31. Let’s be real... if the tables were turned and it were the Riders who had Andrew Harris in this situation, we’d be singing the praises of those who kept him off their ballot. Regardless of whether you believe he was completely innocent (I don’t), it sets a bad precedent to give prestigious awards to a player who tested positive for a PED that same season. This isn’t complicated and the right thing happened.

  32. Shunning the top Canadian (by far) and a leading candidate for MOP based on his play is good for the league Bauming? What an idiot. I have lost respect for that trio of goofs. I hope Andrew and the Bombers make access for them a lot more difficult now. Wanna play king maker, go use the washroom in the parking lot. Oops, sorry no players are available for comment right now Bauming. Sorry not enough room in the locker room for ya guys right now...you can come in after the players leave. I don't know why your press pass isn't working at the gate before the game, we can get new one to you in a couple months. I guarantee that trio of idiots just lost any kind of respect, cooperation, and goodwill they might have had in the Bombers locker room that's for sure.

  33. As it should be. Harris did the crime but he also did the time. His penance was paid.

  34. tired of hearing what John Bowman thinks. probably also cost Harris some money by way of incentives. Also, I accept Harris's * explanation. I don't believe he knowingly took an illegal ped. For the fans it's Harris, easy choice. *The general rule is that the possessive of a singular noun is formed by adding an apostrophe and s, whether the singular noun ends in s or not. The possessive of a plural noun is formed by adding only an apostrophe when the noun ends in s, and by adding both an apostrophe and s when it ends in a letter other than s. (had to look that up)

  37. Harris has been the most outstanding player in the CFL and should get the award. I have a feeling TSN and their constant Rider circle jerking will lead to Fajardo getting it.

  40. I recently watched the following documentary about German car manufacturers and how they're approaching the issue of transitioning their industry over to EV manufacturing without sacrificing sales or their advantage as the leaders in diesel and internal combustion technologies. Very interesting film refreshing in it's honesty, the Chinese govt. has been the main driver in pushing this technological transition faster than expected. Imagine if the Germans are in trouble, how screwed the American car makers are with ole dumb-ass Trump fighting to turn back the clock on allowable car emissions in Californ-i-a.

  41. Harris has been phenomenal, and I don’t pull out that word too often. I can’t think of anybody else in the league who has matched his tenacity and work effort. Game in, game out. He has been more than impressive on almost every carry. At least all us Bomber fans know outstanding when we see it.

He would not want to play anything other than QB. That's why he left Minn and went to S Dak - to play QB. With better coaching Streveler could be an outstanding CFL QB. Hoping we can sign him up for a term as a Blue Bomber QB.

Hmm.? Only 2 QBs on the roster next year eh? Looks like we may be able to fit Streveler in elsewhere after all..we just have to wait. And, we have an emergency replacement. Oh, the possibilities...

Wpg has a competent passer in Collaros. He has shown he can take a head shot as highlighted in the last game. Wpg has the best RB in the game today in Harris. There is no need to put Streveler on the field the same time as Collaros. He is best used as a short yardage guy with potential to bust a huge play on short yardage. He can also stay in the game as a change of pace QB in a hurry up offence after short yardage gains if needed to create a mismatch with the defense as they won't have a chance to sub in the guys they want and will have the heavy set on the field which would open up a down field play if Streveler can make that pass. This is the best scenario the Wpg offence can hope for and was very effective in the first half of the season before Nichols went down to injury. The combination of Collaros being the starting QB with the passing ability to make strikes down field and the ability of Chris Steveler to make big plays running the ball in short yardage situations is the best chance Wpg has to be successful in the playoffs. You play Colaros full out and you don't worry about injury because if you hesitate you are already losing. Go Fuking get em boys.

  47. Lol...what? One is a CFL level starting quarterback and the other is a short yardage specialist with heart. If O’Shea starts Streveler over Collaros he deserves what he gets after the inevitable loss

    Ads on this site

Don’t run the site to make money. I’m happy to break even. The ads do pay for hosting, software costs, prizes for Pick ‘Ems and Lock of the Week, and we’ve donated a pair of season tickets to allow those less fortunate to see Bomber games every year running the site. So if they are detracting from the enjoyment of the site, I’m generally against them.

    Ads on this site

Have looked into this a bit ... Google has implemented a new feature called auto ads, where it basically uses AI/ML to try and better serve ads and placement. I had turned it on a while back, but with restrictions. I found this email from yesterday: As someone who works in software, this is something that really pisses me off. You never unilaterally make changes to how a customers account works. Most people never read those emails, and I almost never log into the account to see notifications. These have been turned off. Let me know if you are still seeing them.
