  1. Not quite sure I understand all the love for MBT. His ceiling seems to be quality back up in my mind.

  2. Streveler needs to develop his passing game and make quicker/better reads. I think he's a better passer than most around here give him credit for, but he knows he can pick up 1st downs with his feet, so he uses that part of his game too often. When things break down, Nichols throws the ball away and Streveler goes for a run. Nichols has zero chance of making a first. Streveler has a pretty good chance of making a first. I wouldn't be happy with Streveler/McGuire because it's too much risk having just two young guys with Streveler being the vet. I'd be happiest with Arbuckle/Steveler as both have shown promise. I expect Nichols/Streveler which is OK I guess, but I'd prefer Collaros/Streveler if we go vet/youngun.

  5. Oh I'm certain of it...tho, I'm gonna just say that the year I finally get married (I'm 39) we win the cup to end the drought. I said right after the game "If I'd have known, I woulda got married when I was 11....."

  6. As of today, my choices would be 1. Collaros/Streveler 2. Nichols/Streveler 3. Streveler/McGuire

  7. That washed up injured vet helped win us a Grey Cup. As he proved to a lot of people, ZC is not ready to be written off just yet.

  9. MBT bashing on here is pretty lame - the guy played pretty well last year with an OC who completely miscast Derel Walker and bungled their run game Chamblin was again in over his head and out of his mind. Same thing happening - if MBT put up those numbers with us, we'd be clamouring to sign him... because he's not a Bomber he's a bum and Streveler is the 'next one'... ha MBT might be a flake but he very much plays a Buck Pierce style of game - I'd have no complaints if he ends up here

  11. This assessment is fair, I can't see Arbuckle signing here without us overpaying for him (and he might not like working 1-2 with Streveler). Besides, the remaining available QBs are either injury prone (Nichols, Collaros, Masoli), more unproven than MBT (Prukop, Cozart), are washed up (Jennings, Franklin), or are just plain bad (Watford, Kilgore, Bridge, O'Brien). In a perfect world - we'd trade Collaros back to Toronto for MBT and THEIR first rounder LOL, dare to dream I guess.

  12. Because his reading of a defense even just in terms of reading the end to hand off or keep is not near ready. His arm talent is there, his heart is more then you can expect from any player, Its his ability to manage the clock, read the defense and make decisions that is the issue. Wagering a season on him taking a step he hasnt shown yet, in a new system / under a new oc and qb coach is a big risk. To be fair, a washed up qb just won us the grey cup.

  13. In games where he was the starter before Collaros got there, especially down the stretch in late September, you could see that he was starting panic quicker when he didn't see an open option quickly and went right into run mode. Very similar to when Nichols couldn't find someone and would just check down. What Streveler needs to develop in his game is that he is very mobile, and rather than just taking off like a running back, he's got the capability to move the pocked and create space and time for his receivers. We saw Collaros do it and it worked great! Just an element to Streveler's game that needs some work, because the upside is absolutely there!

  15. I think people are overvaluing what MBT was able to do in Toronto... he did it with no external pressure from an uncaring fan base and media as it became quickly apparent Toronto was the leagues' doormat with their 0-6 start. People are out of touch if they think paid football players don't take teams lightly on occasion.... should it happen? No. Does it happen? Absolutely.

  17. He had to do that because they were trying to help people get over the prequels. Was it a copy? Yes. Was it enjoyable? Yup. Was the last jedi a steaming pile of crap that ruined anything they tried to do with the new trilogy? Hell yes. In summary, **** Rian Johnson.

  26. Feels more and more like MBT/Streveler is the right way to go... maybe $500-600k total in your QBs and leaves money to keep the D together and add a top NI Safety

  28. I can't see MBT being on Walters radar at all. It's one of Nichols/Collaros then Strev as 2b all the way dependent on the NFL for Strev. Both Nichols/Collaros have shown they do one thing here - win. Management almost never waiver when they have a surefire competitive team to field on paper. It's fun to speculate, but magic beans almost never get traded for established players.

  31. I don't think you could find more of a pocket passer than MBT vs more of a running QB in Streveler. They could not be more different.

  32. I was in great shape this past season...had the Argos on the Thursday night before the wedding. Everyone was in town to get together and watch it...had a big party......be a nice ****-kicking of the Argos to start up our wedding weekend. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand we let MBT look like a legitimate QB and come back to win the game in a squeaker. My anxiety went into overdrive.....I swear that game nearly ruined our wedding.

  33. Aside from Labour Day/Banjo Bowl we have no back to back games, and our final two games of the season are eastern opponents so assuming we aren’t the crossover team we won’t end up in a situation playing a team back to back to end the season/go into the playoffs again. In other words, we won’t see the BS three games against Calgary run we saw to end this year. Also no more than two away games in a row (and two home games in a row) which is nice.

    O'Shea and Walters Re-Sign

All very true; however, for Calgary, if they kept him, he would be plugging into their system, which he knows. If he goes to the Argos, as I think he will, he'll be into similar system but with a whole new crop of players and coaches.

  44. There's also MBT who i think is an under rated options heading into free agency. What remains to be seen is whether or not Masoli re-signs with hamilton. He may not even be ready for the season and so he might just sign a one year deal with Hamilton. If Arbuckle and Streveler hit the NFL and Winnipeg opts to sign Zachary there could be the potential to get something for Nichols going to Ottawa. But not much. I guess in a dream world Toronto really wanted Nichols and we could bargain down the 1st we give up for Zach.

  45. So do we sign Stanley Bryant next and then once free agency comes around we let all of the QBs bid for lowest salary to be able to play behind our offensive line?

  46. Woli only signed with the Bombers as all other teams would have turned him down and the Riders didnt want him. Hes going to have a terrible season and will hate having to play for cheater O'shea. -Rider Fan

  48. If there was any doubt as to O’Shea’s influence... “That would have been very odd, wearing a different uniform,” said Wolitarsky. “Heading into free agency… It was like, ‘I don’t know, man. This is my squad.’ I saw Osh (head coach Mike O’Shea) is coming back and I love playing for him. I just feel his style of coaching and his personality is something I vibe with really well. “Dude, I’m excited. It’s a huge relief. I obviously wanted to be back and then it was just a matter of finding a reasonable deal. Then the team came through really huge. It’s pretty cool.” (🥴”Dude”)
