The housing thing seems ridiculous to me. They get plenty of free agents in Toronto, since that's the only Canadian city a lot of these Americans have ever heard of. Not to mention the CFL phenomenon of players wanting to sign with their hometown teams. That would be an advantage for Toronto and Montreal I'd guess. I mean, the reasons that housing is so much more in Toronto and BC are the same reasons they can attract free agents. But it is the CFL, so they'll probably just randomly gift the Argos a couple free draft picks 3 days before the draft again just because.3 points -

Totally agree...Prospects coming out of an NCAA program leaps and bounds better than their CIS counter parts, mainly due to playing since 5 (pop warner) much like a Canadian kid playing hockey, better coaching and facilities, better competition and better support right through from highschool to College Graduation...those extra 5-10 years of exposure as a kid/college athlete is huuuuge. I participated in several levels, both side of boarder and I can attest...its not even close other than the rare athlete in a CIS program every now and then who may be at par.. No worries, maybe as a raw rookie perhaps, but was at a different time where positions were largely dictated by Nationality for most part, so hard to gauge..also coming from an NCAA program then also gave you a leg up and a bit of advantage as the perception was you were better than your Canadian conterparts trained in Canada, and "similar" to your American competition, but even then the gap was noticeable My ace in whole was I could long snap and took reps in games on offence as full back/te as well as Linebacker throughout my days2 points

I agree that priority number one in Toronto and Vancouver is improve attendance. Not sure how, but, that would be my mandate to everyone involved in both clubs. Housing costs are definitely higher there. But, as many have indicated, there are advantages to attract and retain players that both cities have over Winnipeg, Regina ... Getting a slightly bigger piece of the housing allowance pie doesn't move the needle much in terms of the financial bottom line for either club. It's rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. I don't get the public's clamoring or whining/longing for a Canadian QB...Personally I could care less, and I would never want an inferior player playing just because of ratio..we have enough of that already. I like the game for the game itself, not because it gives a Canadian a chance to play further after college...sure it's nice, but doesn't sell the game for me. Too many times a good player is sent packing to have a roster of guys ..many of whom wouldn't even get starting sniffs in Div 1 NCAA even tho being a "pro"...that's just the facts Further to that they should have had a provision years ago that a player (import) with a total of 4 consecutive years with same team can become a National, help with team continuity, reward an import for loyalty and also allow them to have more earning power...thats my take on that...and by the way..I am a Canadian former ball player...I want to see the best players available playing within reason and within a ratio...but i would not shed a tear to see the number of true Nationals starting lowered...a lot of talent has walked awy, or refused to come here in the past cause players talk amoung themselves and many Imports have been deterred from coming up after talking to guys who told them not to waste time because they prob get cut so team can keep an inferior Canadian.."cause thats what they do up there"....2 points -

EDIT: NXT delayed due to not being in top 50. They finished 55. Drew 721,000 so not a bad number. But AEW doubled them in key demo. Looks like the momentum of main roster on NXT being over has sent their number back down. Maybe the holiday break. Great for AEW who seemed to be struggling to now have two weeks in a row near a million. Last week was a great show, last night had a few stumbles. Very curious for next week and what NXT does. Consensus seems to be the Brock angle will lead to an NXT guy facing him at WM so Brock on NXT would certainly juice the rating but he aint working every week and then he'll be gone too. I'd say Vince ends up making an appearance lol1 point -

Well, he hasn't played since 2015 so his playing days are over & therefore I have no more skin in the game, so to speak. I do feel that if we don't at least TRY to develop these U Sports qbs then why have 7 starters that have to be Canadian? Just get rid of the ratio & let all Americans play. Then watch the interest in the CFL start to wane especially with high school aged players who would probably decide not to play the sport as there'd be no way they could make a CFL team. There has been talk of reducing Canadian starters to 5 with that idea getting a lot of blow back from fans. So, I'd suggest a lot of people actually do care if Canadian qbs do play. So, to answer your question, if my son didn't play qb then no, I'd probably not care. However, having a son playing qb NCAA D2 at SFU, I saw first hand the way the CFL ignores Canadian qbs like they don't even exist. Since that time, the CFL & U Sports have a program where young qbs spend training camp with CFL teams. That wasn't really available back in the days my son played. Had it been, my son would have been ineligible to participate as it would have contravened the rules of the NCAA as he would have been considered a professional & not be allowed to play his senior year back then. U Sports has no such rule. Having said that though, I still think we should be developing young Canadian qbs if they have the potential to eventually start.1 point -

Surely, even someone as ignorant as you could see the irony of telling others on here they're uninformed, not to mention saying "Be better, be smarter." while simultaneously sporting the signature ""If Liberals thought refugees voted Conservative you'd see a border wall from space." Solid mental gymnastics. It pairs well with deflection and whataboutism.1 point -
Thoughts on this? I personally don't care that certain teams are at a disadvantage in this regard as they have the edge in other areas (territorial exemptions, extra draft picks, etc).1 point

I have no issue with allowing concessions for a team who chooses to employ a NAT QB. I just scoff at the notion that any CFL team should have to do so. QBs are too valuable a commodity in our league to tell teams that they must employ one. Especially when legitimately there is maybe one or two every decade who is legitimately good enough to earn a roster spot even if they were developed and coddled. I agree that for the most part IMPs are better players than most NATs but at least at every other position some NATs have demonstrated they can compete and even stand out. At QB all we have seen is disastrous failure by NAT QBs and that won't change any time soon no matter what the CFL does. I agree with you on the whole global player thing but we have to remember its in it's infancy right now and the end goal is to supply revenues to our league. If having NAT QBs could potentially lead to revenue for CFL teams I might tolerate teams being imposed with having to develop them. However, I think just the opposite would happen. At some point teams would be in injury situations and have to embarrass themselves by playing inadequate QBs.1 point

I like Butcher & Blade. I think people looking for a reason to complain just dont like their names lol. But they're a good mid card team. I really think Kenny was purposely cooled off because if you book him the way you *should*, then he has to be the top guy and that wouldnt give Jericho time to breath. They're 1-1 against each other. I always assumed the long term plan was circling back to that and having Kenny beat Jericho for the title (and then he'd have Mox who beat him, waiting for a big match too). Although Im curious how they avoid having Mox win the title...Maybe they will. Its tough. I think they under-estimated how much the fans wanted to see Cody beat Jericho. Im a sucker for heel champions and you push it and push it and make that babyface win really mean something, but....I dont know here (which is good, I dont want to be able to predict everything). Brandi had a great promo awhile back. A face promo where she spoke organically. She is good at that "Chief Brand Officer" role. If she has to be on TV, I just think its swimming upstream to have her play a character. Im critical of Steph for doing that. Brandi cant separate being Cody's wife, it just doesnt make sense and doesnt work.1 point -

I don't expect great things from Luther or anything, but I've been a fan for a long time so it's just kinda neat to see him on TV. Maybe he'll be a decent character. Some sort of madman that you can use for the occasional violent spot. The only issue with that becomes that all these factions seem to have a non-wrestling, non-speaking enforcer. Eventually that gets tired. At some point you're going to have to have Jake Hager & Wardlow wrestle or ditch the idea of just having them around. If Luther is a short term thing, I think I'll like it more. I'm always game for bringing in new guys just for a quick run to keep things different. Brandi, yeaaahhhh... it's bad soap opera acting. I could see her having a "it was me, Austin!" moment with the Dark Order. I hope not. I think the Dark Order has the most potential out of the creepy angles and the past two weeks seemed to get that back on track a little bit. The Butcher, Blade, Bunny thing tends to get lumped into the creepy thing by a lot of fans. I don't quite see it that way. There's no supernatural or cult stuff going on there, those are just a couple of tough SOBs with a total babe valet. Then again I hang out with a lot of metalheads and punks so that **** isn't that weird or creepy 😛. Really though, you'd find people like that at Wellington's or Ozzy's when they were open. Maybe it's weird to some people but I feel like there's waaaay more people out there that could identify with them than Dark Order or Brandi's deal. Either way, they should get them talking or get some vignettes going to define that a bit better. Although they could go the creepy route and bring in Allie's friend Rosemary from Impact (depending on when her contract is up) and get another Winnipegger in the mix. Kenny is really ramping it up and so is the crowd. It almost feels like the AEW audience was just waiting for full-on Kenny to really get behind him. Like they weren't sure what to make of his first few months. I can't speak to his mindset but if there's any element of "I'm a VP and I don't want to look like a spotlight hog", I hope he gets past that. He's the most talented person on the roster and having him at full-flight would be a boost to the company. Page, Sammy, Jurassic Express, MJF & Darby Allin are a great core of young guys to have coming up. They are all well on their way to being legit stars. I want to reach through the screen and slap Sammy Guevara every week and I couldn't be happier about that. His matches are real good and when he talks or even just looks at the camera, I forget about that and just hate his ****** face. MJF has that quality too. His matches don't standout as much but he plays that character incredibly well including during the matches. I shouldn't be amazed by that guy in ring, he should be cheating and locking in sleeper holds for 15 minutes. It's the simplest formula in wrestling. Good guys give the fans what they want to see, bad guys try to keep that from happening. MJF works that formula tremendously. I agree about Daniels but I think he's serving his purpose along with Kazarian in getting Scorpio Sky over. Almost forgot, I'm really digging PAC in AEW. He's a dude I would not want to mess around with.1 point -

Love how you describe each win as being the other team losing versus the Bombers winning. This might shock you but the reason the Bombers won both games against Calgary was because they were the better team. The goal post wasn't the only reason that that Saskatchewan lost and if by the end of the 3rd quarter of the Grey Cup you had any doubts, then I have to question whether you were actually paying attention at all. Here's the thing, you can actually start believing that the Bombers are good, really good, and not just lucky.1 point -
