  1. GCn20

    2019-20 CFL Offseason

How hard would it be for them to phone me at home and keep me updated? I mean really...

  2. he was super cool after the GC game, going around and shaking hands with every fan around the stadium. Had a LOT of family there with him....he was digging the moment.

  3. Darren Cameron @Darren_Cameron · 6m #Bombers announce multiple changes to offensive staff; Buck Pierce named OC. @CoachBurgs will move from Running Backs Coach to Receivers Coach. And the team has also added Pete Costanza to O Staff (RB’s). He spent the last 12 seasons with the Stampeders as their Receivers Coach.

  4. I didn't see this anywhere and thought it warranted it's own thread: https://www.bluebombers.com/2020/01/21/bombers-unveil-offensive-coaching-staff/ – Buck Pierce has been promoted to the offensive coordinator role while also continuing to serve as quarterbacks coach. – Kevin Bourgoin shifts from running backs coach to receivers coach. – Pete Costanza joins the coaching staff as the new running backs coach. – As well, the Bombers are pleased to announce that Marty Costello will remain in his role as the offensive line coach and will be heading into his fifth season with the team in 2020.

  5. Sounds like Rasheed Bailey is excited.. “I’ll Start By Saying Congratulations Coach Buck @pierceQB11 Nobody’s More Deserving Of The Job Than You . I’ve Watched You Everyday Layout All The Ground Work For This Moment. Can’t Wait For You To Lead Us This Year” 🙏🏽

  8. Well when a guy wins a championship.... how do you turn away?

  9. I'm okay with Young going..was afraid we were gonna lose Younger which would be a bigger hit...I honestly think he is being groomed to eventually be the DC

  10. In preseason McGuire showed a lot of poise and confidence in the pocket..has that instinctive ability to sit in there..find his reads and make all the throws. He's also athletic and can run effectively if need be..

  11. Re-sign Roh, if or when Jefferson comes back they can deal with it at that time. Jeffcoat, Roh, McCallister is a solid start.

  12. McCalister!!! Yes. Very happy about this. I would expect him to make the roster given Kongbo's departure.

  14. Very positive guy. He was just thankful to finally get a chance to be on the field.

  15. That's an understatement, when Bailey gets talking he scares me.

  16. This seems kind of ridiculous. We allowed what, an average of 14 points a game in the playoffs? I'll take my chances with a guy like that.

  17. I was hoping Claybrooks would be our next DC.

  18. It's been a group effort even with Lapo there. I know that I have heard that O'shea say that Costello and Bourgoin have big inputs in the running game. Really think that's what makes this staff great is O'shea has fostered a group responsibility for the success of the team.

  19. I think i could live with Bethel-Thompson and McGuire as quarterbacks this year, and it may come to that.

  20. Costanza is a really good addition but Young is a big loss. Wonder who comes in for Young?
    2 points
  21. Costanza is a good pick up, more veteran staff that Pierce can lean on...

  22. Based on what I've seen from the guy I'd say he's already a much more capable passer than Streveler. He has serious upside to be a starting QB in this league. When you have a guy like that you need to elevate them and give them opportunities.

    Manitoba Moose

Hey Corinna, Welcome to the forums here. You can order a Brody Sutter jersey from the moose store (https://truenorthshop.com/collections/manitoba-moose/products/moose-jersey-womens-white). Basically you'll order a blank jersey, and then check the customize option to place the name and number. It'll be around $215 CAD for a customized Jersey. I'm not sure of the shipping options but it would be a good place to start. Hope that helps!

  24. I like his potential. A lot, so much so that I got mocked earlier. Not sure I want him being tossed the keys yet, on paper. That is all. I hope he blows the doors off in camp.

  25. Arbuckle would be my first choice but that dream seems dead. Can't imagine Ottawa lets him even get to free agency. Collaros is a good fit for the offense though. Can't fault them for thinking we want to see more of that.

  26. With Zack's history of concussions we'll need a viable backup in case we lose him for a long period of time.
    2 points
  27. I agree with the decision to focus on Collaros. Neither of these options are a pillar of health. However, Collaros is hands down the more gifted of the two. He's a risk to get another injury or a concussion again but he showed that with all his injuries in the past he's still very physically gifted when healthy. And he won the Grey Cup. Nichols has IMO lost some zip on his passes and has zero mobility at this point in his career. I would consider looking at MBT as a backup should he be available.

  28. Not to say I want Hall gone, but I think there's still questions about who was responsible for that playoff run.....and that's fair.

  29. It definitely has something to do with it....these are the same issues he had going back to when he first came to Winnipeg. He has a hard time articulating his thoughts....always has. There were a lot of people who blamed it on concussion symptoms, but he's said it's something that's always been a problem with him.

  35. Colour me shocked, China and India lying about their emissions reductions to maintain their economic advantage.....or perhaps because they have no way of actually controlling what goes on within their borders. Greenhouse gas 12,000 times worse than CO2 shows surprise rise in the atmosphere Major producers China and India report drastic emissions cuts, but measurements suggest otherwise. A greenhouse gas that can cause 12,000 times more warming per tonne than carbon dioxide is rising unexpectedly in the atmosphere, despite reports by its major producers, China and India, that they've mostly eliminated emissions of the gas. Atmospheric gas measurements at five stations around the world show that emissions of HFC-23 or trifluoromethane reached a record high in 2018 of 15,900 tonnes, reports a study led by Kieran Stanley, a visiting research fellow at the University of Bristol. That's a lot higher than the 2,400 tonnes of emissions of that gas reported by China and India to the United Nations Environment Program in 2017, notes the study, published this week in Nature Communications. https://www.cbc.ca/news/technology/hfc-23-1.5435013

  36. Flying under the radar in terms of offensive coaches for me is line coach Marty Costello and the job he has done with the line, remember the doom and gloom of losing not 1 but 2 very good Canadian starters, I think he has done a great job with the talent that he has.

  37. Sort out the secondary meant finally having a safety that can actually COVER and make plays....significantly lacking for a number of years....sorry Loeffler lovers but he couldn’t cover.

  39. No.. Im fine with Hall. I do think that most of the changes that helped the defense to thrive came while Hall was away and were implemented by Glenn Young. I'm confident that Hall can continue the momentum the defense built last year. I'm just looking at a situation where Hall may very well be looking at retiring soon so I would have preferred to go with the younger Glenn Young who I have the utmost confidence in.

  42. I'm pretty sure Constanza will be given a bigger role internally than just "RB coach", he'll be involved in the game planning with Buck. Don't think he would have come here otherwise.

  43. love that we retained Costello, our OL got lots better as the year went on and was ******* vicious in the Grey Cup, we give Walters props for that regularly but I bet Costello had no small impact there.

  44. Interesting choice for RB coach, Costanza really wants to be an OC or HC, he'll be peering over Buck's shoulder if'en he stumbles. https://calgarysun.com/sports/football/cfl/calgary-stampeders/longtime-receivers-coach-pete-costanza-moves-on-from-stampeders After 12 years serving as the Calgary Stampeders receivers coach, Pete Costanza decided it was time to pursue other opportunities. He wants to be an offensive coordinator or a head coach somewhere, and right now those opportunities just aren’t available in Calgary. “I’ve been here 12 years, we’ve won three Grey Cups and I’ve had a great run and I honestly feel that there’s not much more I can do,” Costanza said. “I want to grow. I want to coach in the CFL. I’ve been a head coach, I’ve been a coordinator before and that fire still kinda burns in me, so I’m looking for new opportunities to spread my wings.” “Looking at my career and where I want to go, I don’t know how much longer I can stay here and just do the same thing,” Costanza said. “Dave and I talked. We always talk at the end of the year about what your goals are and what you want to do in the future, and we talked about it and truthfully, it’s the best thing for me moving forward." “Being a position coach was great but I feel I’ve got more to offer,” Costanza said. “I want to try to be an OC. I want to try to move up the ladder and I want to eventually get out there and hopefully lead a franchise and win a Grey Cup.”

  45. I'm absolutely not saying you're wrong, but I could totally see them going with McGuire as the back up this year.....

  46. both of those are two big (re) signings.... Walters slowly but surely doing some great work. Can't freaking wait for FA day in a few weeks. Also hoping Irving/OB does a "Bombers Mid-Winter Special" as they have the past couple years...

  47. How was it similar last season? Trouba - gone. Myers - gone. Chiarot - gone. Byfuglien - gone. Basically, the entire right side of the blue line is gone this season and it's been filled with subpar replacements with the exception of Pionk.

    The Environment Thread

That's it entirely. If you're rich, you can afford the impact of climate change. You'll be able to afford when gov'ts cut social services because they can't afford them any longer when they're paying to clean up the mess.
