I have watched a replay of the cup at least 3 times a week since the covid started and I can’t help but get choked up every time. I was lucky enough to be able to watch the game live in Calgary with my 8 year old boy. We went on an epic road trip and it was the greatest weekend we will ever have. My son lost control of all emotions at the end of the game and was literally bawling. I ended up breaking down too because I realized right then that I had solidified him as a bomber fan for life. I still have to convince myself that a)they won the cup and b) I was there live with my boy

One game I would love to see replayed is the home game against BC in 2010 where Alex Brink started. Brink played absolutely awful and was benched for Jyles who proceeded to lead us to a huge comeback. The game ended on a Casey Printers pick six in OT which I believe ended his CFL career. It didn’t help that Printers screamed at O’Neil Wilson after throwing that pass.

Elliot's problem was that he basically took risks in a lapo offense cause he pushed back against the play safe crap. Blame lapo not the fans.

The only reason I wanted to watch some of the Hamilton game is b/c I had absolutely zero recollection of this game... after watching it, I realized why...

If Joey Elliott had some coaching he might have been successful. He actually looked pretty decent this game. His support system was abysmal & it would only get worse under Tim Burke & Joe Mack in 2013.

The CFL has many advantages that the XFL does not have in terms its' ability to survive. One big factor is the XFL was just borrowing space in stadiums that for the most part already had a purpose. Nobody is going to bat an eyelash over the XFL folding. However, there has been a lot of provincial, municipal and federal money invested in the future of the CFL. I believe that if necessary the government would come to the CFL's aid to avoid having been on the hook for a bunch of ghosted stadiums across the country.

Dr Jensen seems very concerned that statistics are being padded to make the death toll appear higher than it really is. He cites to Fox News that if a patient is killed by a bus but also tests positive for COVID the cause of death is listed as COVID. He says this doesn't make sense and I agree, it doesn't. Likewise for violent crimes and gators (lookin at you, Florida). But how much of the death toll could possibly be accounted for by completely unrelated incidents? It can't be that many. If a doctor cannot make a definite diagnosis of COVID (shortages of test kits being a good reason why, a whole other issue) but "the circumstances are compelling with a reasonable degree of certainty"... then it seems reasonable to me that the death be included in the COVID statistics. Making a best effort to report the spread and impact of this disease isn't fear mongering or being alarmist, it's simply trying to show the reality of this situation. Suggesting doctors and nurses are artificially inflating these numbers for personal and financial gain is especially low on his part. Herd immunity comes at a price. Sounds like Dr Jensen is okay with approx 10% of the pop. getting seriously ill (he chuckles about 90% won't suffer more than minor symptoms) and who knows how many of them will survive (should their local health system be able to bear the strain). I'm firmly in the 'let's minimize the death toll, we can sacrifice for one another in the short term and get through this in the long run' camp. Thanks to everyone who is washing their hands and sheltering in place as much as possible. Hang in there everyone!

Two years ago, negative nellies were forecasting the end of the CFL with the AAF & XFL coming onboard. Well, they're both gone now but the CFL still faces a huge challenge as do all established sports leagues of getting thru these scary & dangerous time.

All such decisions have to be assessed for intent. About 16 years ago, a design flaw in GM cars was causing the motors to stall even at highway speeds, resulting in many deaths. GM knew of this within months but did a calculation as to the cost of paying out victims vs the cost of recall and redesign, and came to the conclusion that it was cheaper to remain silent and settle the lawsuits as they arose while denying culpability. This eventually became public but no one was charged with criminal negligence or even fined. The chairman of GM resigned but he was due to do so soon anyways and left with a big payout.

it's not just hospitals that can get overwhelmed. it's supply chains in general if you get a bunch of extra people in an area that aren't normally there. We already see in large cities store shelves that are empty, don't need to put further strain on small communities.
