    2020 CFL Draft

yeah that draft, and the high upside potential of Oliveira, Eli and Griffths affords us the luxury of this year not really having a need to roster someone from this draft, and would be a good draft for us to draft a futures type guy who may not surface here for a year or 2 We'll be getting significant contributions from Oliveira, most likely Griffiths and Eli this year (second yr guys at that) and more progression from Exume and Hallett...far more than what any draftee will give us this year as he learns the pro game coupled with the fact on offence all our starters and back-ups are back and with what we have brought back, and signed on defense all will be more usefull than a fresh faced college graduate...be perfect time to look at a futures guy in my opinion

    Covid-19

I had a bit of a wake up call over the weekend, when my anxiety and depression hit me SUPER hard and put a good scare into me, and I've decided that I'm not going to focus as much on the "negative". It's easy to say "I can't do this, I can't do that" because of COVID. So I'm choosing to focus on the things I will be able to do. Golf is going to be acceptable in a limited capacity. I'm fairly confident I'm going to be able to take my boat out and go fishing this summer. I'm going to spend more time in my backyard doing gardening and such. There's a ton of negative over all of us right now, and it's CRUCIAL for your own sanity to try and focus on every bit of positive you can find.

honestly, whether the link/article is accurate or not, is it a really necessary thing to post? Do we really need it? I'm not suggesting burying our heads in the sand, but honestly what was the point of that "political scientist" post...other than to scare people?

    2020 CFL Draft

Last year we got major contributions from 4 of our picks: Dejarlais, Kongbo, Hallet and Exume. And we are still high on Oliveira, Griffiths, and Eli. What a draft. We won't have the 1st round picks this year but I'm sure we'll be able to find a couple players to contribute next year (not that we are in desperate need). I'm excited for Thursday.

  19. The NHL had certain requirements for the neutral site games. 1) Arenas need a minimum of 4 NHL caliber dressing rooms because they wanted to have up to 3 games a day being played. Edmonton has 6 dressing rooms at Rogers Place. Not sure if the Jets have more than 3. 2) Suitable practice facilities for multiple NHL teams. With the IcePlex, Wayne Fleming and some major junior rinks, don’t think this was an issue in Winnipeg, but Edmonton’s practice rink is connected to the main arena. 3) NHLPA requirements specify a 4 or 5 star hotel for the players per the collective agreement. Not sure how Winnipeg stacks up there, but likely less than almost if not all other NHL cities. Again Edmonton has a 5 star connected to the arena by walkway. 4) city can’t be a COVID hotspot. No problem for Winnipeg or Edmonton (most of the Alberta cases are on Calgary) 5) preferably don’t share the arena with an NBA team As for the ice in Winnipeg, the NHL player’s poll this year said the Bell MTS Centre ice was top 3 in the league, behind only Edmonton and Vegas. Jets have been top 3 for a few years in ice quality (Montreal is also perennially high on the list), so poor ice is a non-issue on Winnipeg.

  20. Agreed. It was fun to watch again, but ive seen like 95% of it already. Was hoping for more behind the scenes, never before seen footage.

  21. I was hoping there would be more footage that I hadn't already seen, but a lot of it was the CFL game recaps and other stuff that we've seen on TSN. There was some locker room footage that I'd never seen that's cool. I would have liked to have seen some interviews, after the fact, with players and coaches and Tait/Irving. All in all, it was fun and gave me something to be excited about re: Bombers 2020. I'm praying for a miracle and they find a way to play fall ball...

I’ve been saying that a lot since this thing took hold. Most of us get we need to stay informed, be aware, understand the complexities and adjust our behaviour accordingly but opinion pieces that serve up constant debbies with their click bait doom and gloom headlines (often created by someone else other than the author) serve no useful purpose imo. Most of us get this is serious but writing and entitling a piece with anxiety laden text doesn’t help us. Sometimes it’s not what you are saying or writing, it’s how you are saying or writing it that’s important.

You need to listen to more youtube experts. It's 5% because they are not testing everyone, and people who died from other causes are being recorded as COVID 19 deaths. There are real heroes out there, putting the true information on youtube. Best get over there and watch some truth before its removed. /sarcasm

I find that the #1 way to assess information is how they are presenting it. Listen closely to what they're actually saying. Is it it a 50 minute lecture that could be done in 10 minutes, because they are just saying the same thing in 10 different ways? Are they showing actual information and studies using slides, or are they just reading information and saying 'this is our data'? I watched a video yesterday, from a Dr. Erickson in California. He sounded reasonable, professional and sensible, but he was doing all of the above. To the surprise of absolutely no one, the video is no longer on youtube or MSN this morning. Here's a link to a rebuttal: https://calmatters.org/health/2020/04/debunking-bakersfield-doctors-covid-spread-conclusions/

It's just wild how all these PHDs, professors, biologists, and scientists that have the credentials, tenure, and support of so many and have dedicated their lives to helping people are just a bunch of conspiracy theorist crackpots. I don't know how you guys just know this to be fact. The safe thing to do is to just trust in our governments, the big corporations, and the mass media because they always tell us the truth and if they aren't, well, it's for our own good. Right?
