  3. Personally, I don’t see anything wrong with the CFL asking for assistance to maintain what has to be considered a huge part of many Canadian’s lives. A part of Canadian culture. Part of Canadian history. A huge part of the Canadian entertainment industry.Diversity is strength. It matters. For the love of the game. The Rouge. We could lose it all.We cannot let that happen.

  4. Am I stupid in thinking the timing of increased testing and phase 1 essentially happening at the same time are going to throw off the numbers? I feel like they should have run with the increased testing as a baseline for a while first.

Considering Trudeau promised to give Syria 1 BILLION, Africa 400 million and Mastercard 50 million..... he better give the league f'ning 150 millions no questions asked.

And having a CFL season, even if abbreviated, would be a welcome thing to offset all the misery of the pandemic and herald a return to normalcy.

    Covid-19

In all likelihood Covid will become a seasonal thing like the flu as well, but by that point we'll have vaccines and enough people will have some anti-bodies to help fight it. It's just the fact that it's new and spreads so easily that makes it a bigger deal now. people need to get off this stupid as **** "but teh fluuuuuueeeeee!!!!11!!" nonsense.

    2020 CFL Draft

yeah that draft, and the high upside potential of Oliveira, Eli and Griffths affords us the luxury of this year not really having a need to roster someone from this draft, and would be a good draft for us to draft a futures type guy who may not surface here for a year or 2 We'll be getting significant contributions from Oliveira, most likely Griffiths and Eli this year (second yr guys at that) and more progression from Exume and Hallett...far more than what any draftee will give us this year as he learns the pro game coupled with the fact on offence all our starters and back-ups are back and with what we have brought back, and signed on defense all will be more usefull than a fresh faced college graduate...be perfect time to look at a futures guy in my opinion

    2020 CFL Draft

Yup we have a glut of O=lineman and are gonna lose one for nothing if we don't trade one...Couture..Speller..Desjarlais..Gray have all shown they can start and be very effective, and if Eli keeps his nose to the grindstone and truly has decided he is in the league for the long haul then he will be better than the aforementioned..Talking to people I know at a camp over the winter they were shocked he was in Winnipeg (shocked because of his talent and also the fact that he was back playing) because he was a legit NFL prospect..and has the ability to be dominant..hopefully an extended covid delay won't knock him off the rails again Bennet I was hopeful would slip down in draft, but doubt it...he's better than most draft prognosis have stated...but you never know and being a Winnipeg kid if we did get him..or moved up to get him you can be assured he's be a fixture here for years

    Covid-19

Not once in your rambling did you mention the single biggest reason we are actually doing all this.... avoiding over burdening the health care system so that lives can be saved. Economies recover, dead people don't and if we drag this out (which is the entire point of curve flattening) less people will die. Having a bunch of people sick and dead doesn't help economies either.

  17. I'm no CFL draft expert, but I watched most of McGill's games this year, saw a couple in person, and Andrew Seinet-Spaulding looks like a CFL nose tackle to me. Won the J.P. Metras Trophy as best USports lineman. Mock drafts have him as a about a fourth rounder. Not sure why. Size? Six feet - 285. Looked bigger to me. Was quick off the ball and disruptive despite being double and triple teamed in RSEQ. You're welcome for the drafting advice Kyle. 😄

I think you would be putting older family members in jeopardy unless everyone attending the dinner was tested negative, especially since many carriers have shown no symptoms and are not aware they are infected.

  19. It really is very little, especially with the CFL wanting to pay it back in some way. All the people whining about it now will be furious if the league folded. In fact, I suspect the Cons have two prepared responses 1) "How dare they give these greedy players that money" 2) "How dare they let this great league fold"

    US Politics

"... the people who were put in the camps then were Communists. Who cared about them? We knew it, it was printed in the newspapers. Who raised their voice, maybe the Confessing Church? We thought: Communists, those opponents of religion, those enemies of Christians—"should I be my brother's keeper?" Then they got rid of the sick, the so-called incurables. I remember a conversation I had with a person who claimed to be a Christian. He said: Perhaps it's right, these incurably sick people just cost the state money, they are just a burden to themselves and to others. Isn't it best for all concerned if they are taken out of the middle [of society]? Only then did the church as such take note. Then we started talking, until our voices were again silenced in public. Can we say, we aren't guilty/responsible? The persecution of the Jews, the way we treated the occupied countries, or the things in Greece, in Poland, in Czechoslovakia or in Holland, that were written in the newspapers. … I believe, we Confessing-Church-Christians have every reason to say: mea culpa, mea culpa! We can talk ourselves out of it with the excuse that it would have cost me my head if I had spoken out. We preferred to keep silent. We are certainly not without guilt/fault, and I ask myself again and again, what would have happened, if in the year 1933 or 1934—there must have been a possibility—14,000 Protestant pastors and all Protestant communities in Germany had defended the truth until their deaths? If we had said back then, it is not right when Hermann Göring simply puts 100,000 Communists in the concentration camps, in order to let them die. I can imagine that perhaps 30,000 to 40,000 Protestant Christians would have had their heads cut off, but I can also imagine that we would have rescued 30–40,000 million [sic] people, because that is what it is costing us now." Covid-19

great news for Manitoba today, for sure, but....as Mike McIntyre just tweeted "let's try to not screw this up, shall we...." If people try to do too much, too soon, it's going to undo all the gains already made. Also still concerned about a massive resurgence of COVID in the fall/winter, which might force a reset on everything to lockdown.

And a futures guy is likely who would fall to us in the 2nd or 3rd round. I'm hoping we can get a good rotational starter(d-line) in the 2nd round and then one of those falling futures picks in the 3rd. That said I have next to zero knowledge on the draft class (pretty normal).

    Covid-19

We don’t know the infection rate for the flu either, there is no way to know that, because most of us stay home and fight it on our own for the most part, so where would medical professionals get the data to compile those stats? I think the flu should not be compared to COVID because the following do not apply to Covid, at least not yet. a) There are flu vaccines that are at least reasonably effective b) Many people have learned what they need to do when cold and flu season comes around, to build up immunity and minimize contact with germs

    Covid-19

I’ve been saying that a lot since this thing took hold. Most of us get we need to stay informed, be aware, understand the complexities and adjust our behaviour accordingly but opinion pieces that serve up constant debbies with their click bait doom and gloom headlines (often created by someone else other than the author) serve no useful purpose imo. Most of us get this is serious but writing and entitling a piece with anxiety laden text doesn’t help us. Sometimes it’s not what you are saying or writing, it’s how you are saying or writing it that’s important.

  48. Just re-watched the last game of the regular season, the home game vs. Calgary. What a great game. You could see the confidence building in the team as Collaros led them down the field for the game winning field goal. That Bo Levi is just such an arrogant turd, listening to him "miked up" all game I was just wanting to punch him through the screen. I also saw the Calgary player who was in the end zone, number 83 Josh Huff I believe, fling his helmet about 30 yards down the field at the end of the game. Total class act. Anyway, that was Game 1. Now going to watch the remaining 3 games of the season in succession. Re-live the whole drive to the Cup. 👍
