This e-mail from the commish came to me yesterday. April 29, 2020 Dear Season Seat Holder, I hope this letter finds you and your loved ones safe and healthy. If you are one of the thousands of essential workers putting yourself at risk for the rest of us, thank you. If you are simply doing your part to fight this pandemic and following the rules as they come, thank you for that as well. Most of all, thank you for supporting the CFL, and your team, by purchasing season seats. You and fans like you are the lifeblood of the Canadian Football League. We are deeply grateful for your commitment to us. We want you to know we are committed to you and to the future of the CFL – and to building an even bigger and brighter future for Canadian football, together. Right now, like you, we’re trying to cope with the fact that Covid-19 has literally created a world of uncertainty. We are following the news, listening to public health experts, and monitoring the latest from our political leaders, for signs that life will start to return to normal and, when and if the time is right, we can safely get back to football and back to gathering together in our stadiums. Like you, we’re doing all we can to weather this storm. We’re optimistic and we’re looking forward. We remain hopeful we’ll have a great season in 2020. But this pandemic is forcing us to also consider all the other possibilities, including the ones we hate to consider, such as fewer games this year or even a cancelled season, if that is what we have to do to help keep Canada safe and healthy. You may have seen in the media that we have reached out to the federal government. We’ve told them we may need help, especially if these worst-case scenarios come to pass. We have stressed we want to be accountable to you and all taxpayers, and that we would want to repay them using all of the tools at our disposal, including advertising in our stadiums and online, programs in the community in support of a wide range of important causes, tourism promotion around our games and Grey Cup, and through content and digital partnerships. You’ve already helped us by investing in season seats. Your support, patience and understanding through this challenging time helps us even more. I can’t thank you enough. I wish I could return your loyalty by telling you how all of this will turn out, when our games will start and exactly what our season will look like. Unfortunately, all we can do right now is be as transparent as possible, to tell you we are working through all the possibilities, and to be as deeply grateful to you as you clearly deserve. Whatever you are going through, at work or home or in your family, I want you to know we consider you an important part of our CFL family. If you have lost a loved one, or you are coping with the effect this virus can have on anyone’s physical, mental or financial health, please know we are thinking of you. I know we’re going to get through this together. And when we do, it’s going to be a great day for Canada. We’ll celebrate football, friendship and our resilience. And more than anything else, when we see you again at the game, we’re going to celebrate you. Thank you so much, Randy Ambrosie Commissioner, Canadian Football League5 points -

Dafuq? I have no love for HRC, but to say that she was equally bad? give your head a shake man. She 100% would have been a much more competent and less corrupt choice than the asshat-in-chief. 100%. Tell me I'm wrong- with evidence. For every negative thing you can name for HRC, I can easily give you a litany of the same **** trump has done.4 points -
Yeah...thats funny...I guess oline..Canadian receiever, National DT...SAM LINEBACKER....ZERO NATIONAL DB DEPTH...Is no need..must be nice...another funny i read in a recent article was one that said the Riders had arguably the best O-line depth...believe it was penned by a Sask lackie writer as well3 points

No doubt these are the same jackwads who go off about "Toronto deserves a NFL franchise" and then on the other hand say "Canada needs to win back the Stanley Cup"... it makes no sense. And I really don't get the anti-CFL stance. At all. Especially when it's something that employs so many Canadians.3 points -

A little story from summer of 2016, we have a store in MN and I was visiting the staff there in July 2016 while the Democratic Convention was on. We have staff from both sides of the isle and they were constantly at each other about this or that. In an effort to smooth things down and get everyone more focused on work we had a discussion about the pros and cons of each. In the end the consensus was this. If Clinton and Trump were the best people that could be convinced to lead those parties the USA was fugged. Reasonable people in the USA knew that this period was going to be hard on the nation, they were just at a loss as to what to do about it. They knew then that by 2020 the nation would be a very divided and acrimonious place.3 points -

It really is very little, especially with the CFL wanting to pay it back in some way. All the people whining about it now will be furious if the league folded. In fact, I suspect the Cons have two prepared responses 1) "How dare they give these greedy players that money" 2) "How dare they let this great league fold"3 points -
2020 CFL Draft

That team, complete smoke and mirrors show. The Bombers had a run of bad luck each of the past 2 seasons while the Riders had horseshoes so far up their asses it wasn't even funny. But playoff time we saw the difference. Given the age of the Riders they're going to fall hard and fast before too long.2 points -

There is no good reason for the public to own firearms whose only design purpose is to kill people. Yes, anyone could use a hunting rifle to go on a killing spree, but sociologically, getting rid of people-killing guns causes a shift in public consciousness for the better, as the Australian example shows.2 points -

I initial thought so... but @Tracker posted an article about trump and the citizens of 'mericuh. They are essentially in an abusive relationship: trump being the malignant narcissist serial abuser and the citizens being the abuse victim. And if the 'merican voters soundly reject trump... well what happens when a woman grabs the keys and children and are walking out that door on a malignant narcissistic volatile serial abuser- not going to end well... I thought it was going to awesome to watch it unfold... but man, that put things into perspective... I am actually frightened and concerned for the people of the USA...2 points -

In his former hometown of New York everyone in business knew he was a fraud, a charlatan if you will. He is a con man who defaults on loans, doesn't pay workers, constantly sue and/or threatens legal action and is a wretched human being. Yup we have a glut of O=lineman and are gonna lose one for nothing if we don't trade one...Couture..Speller..Desjarlais..Gray have all shown they can start and be very effective, and if Eli keeps his nose to the grindstone and truly has decided he is in the league for the long haul then he will be better than the aforementioned..Talking to people I know at a camp over the winter they were shocked he was in Winnipeg (shocked because of his talent and also the fact that he was back playing) because he was a legit NFL prospect..and has the ability to be dominant..hopefully an extended covid delay won't knock him off the rails again Bennet I was hopeful would slip down in draft, but doubt it...he's better than most draft prognosis have stated...but you never know and being a Winnipeg kid if we did get him..or moved up to get him you can be assured he's be a fixture here for years2 points

Covid-19

Not once in your rambling did you mention the single biggest reason we are actually doing all this.... avoiding over burdening the health care system so that lives can be saved. Economies recover, dead people don't and if we drag this out (which is the entire point of curve flattening) less people will die. Having a bunch of people sick and dead doesn't help economies either.2 points -

I'm no CFL draft expert, but I watched most of McGill's games this year, saw a couple in person, and Andrew Seinet-Spaulding looks like a CFL nose tackle to me. Won the J.P. Metras Trophy as best USports lineman. Mock drafts have him as a about a fourth rounder. Not sure why. Size? Six feet - 285. Looked bigger to me. Was quick off the ball and disruptive despite being double and triple teamed in RSEQ. You're welcome for the drafting advice Kyle. 😄2 points -

Covid has killed young healthy people. It's not just immuno-compromised folks that are in danger. There are also links to obesity increasing the risk as well. Hell I've read about senior citizens who have recovered from it (like 80+ years old) The bottom line is that most people are going to experience no to minor symptoms, some will get sick enough to feel like crap and it's very few relatively speaking who get to the point of being in dire circumstances... but why take that risk when we don't have to?1 point

I came across a piece from Ed Yong, a staff writer from the Atlantic who covers science and did a piece on this gross plague. The piece is called: Why the Coronavirus is so confusing: A guide to making sense of a problem that is now too big for any one person to fully comprehend. It's a fairly long read but it does read and feel, at least to me, quite objective in a matter of fact way not a all is great or all is bad type tone. Sorry my lack of IT ability couldn't insert the link. Anyone interested I'm sure can just do a google search or insert the link for me with with my thank you in-advance.1 point -

I love(? Maybe not the right word) that these type of people think they'd stand even the slightest chance against the government if it decided to go rogue and attack the people. Enjoy shooting those fancy rifles at drones and missiles. I also get a chuckle out the guys who do their best Chris Farley, fat man in a tiny jack routine but in bullet proof vest instead.1 point -
I cant see london ever working. Maybe they become a floating market that hosts a couple games every year and maybe a superbowl etc but a full time team seems like a worse idea then vince mcmahon starting up another football league. Mexico city though I think would be top of the list by far in terms of want and reality. The nfl doesnt seem really interested in toronto. They'd never be no1 in that market likely not no2 for many years and TO fans are the quickest to jump off a bandwagon in north america. 2 years with 10 wins or less total and you couldnt pay them to attend nfl games.1 point

Seriously...? Digging up a partial quote from nearly seven years ago...? I will absolutely not defend the Liberals' attempt to grab power, albeit temporarily, at such an uncertain time but reaches like that aren't good for anything. Here's what he actually said back then: https://globalnews.ca/news/3899392/trudeau-admires-most-not-china/ He didn't say it "many times," either. He said it once. Context is indeed everything.
