How can you claim they got it right when no one even knows whether people gain immunity after suffering their first infection while also ignoring one of the highest mortality rates in the world. The recent comparisons between people who are willing to sacrifice the old and weak for the sake of the economy with those willing to sacrifice school children to preserve the rights to own semi-automatic weapons is spot-on. The more worrying pandemic to me is ghoulishness.5 points -

I don't know if that's true to be honest. There will come a point where things will return to normal with or without a vaccine. This has never been about stopping the spread, it has been an exercise in slowing the spread so we can treat the people who need it.5 points -

It's an opinion article from three years ago, written by James D. Agresti, founder and president of Just Facts. https://www.justfacts.com/james.d.agresti.asp (He's basically jerking himself off by trying to discredit the work MBFC does) And would you look at that... He's also a policy advisor for the Heartland Institute: https://www.heartland.org/about-us/who-we-are/james-agresti If some born again bible thumper is your defense for the garbage you continue to post in this forum, you should just go and commit yourself already. And she makes a great point. By not only flattening the curve, but squashing it, her country is now way ahead in terms of getting back to normal, which makes investment more appetizing. https://www.usnews.com/news/world/articles/2020-05-06/pm-ardern-touts-new-zealand-as-safe-haven-for-investment3 points

Your hate for the guy doesn't mean you need to go on a tirade every time he talks. Go read the financial reports of the community teams. It is brutally obvious that the majority of revenue comes from ticket sales. This isn't a revelation for the CFL Ticket pricing will be optimized to bring in the most revenue. Selling 100 - $80 tickets brings in more money then 150 - $40 tickets The CFL has known how broken their model is for a long time. Again, this isn't a revelation. Teams on the brink of bankruptcy, delusional owners, owners owning multiple teams. They are here because of owners like Bob Young and David Braley have absorbed the losses for years for the love of the game. This is not new news and should not be shocking. The alternative here and what we have been close to so many times is the league folding.2 points -

Not quite. I think if we are to reach a new normal, Sweden represents a model if we wish to get back to a society in which we don’t have lockdowns,” Ryan said. Also, Sweden’s approach has been criticized by 2,300 academics who penned a letter last month calling for the government to reconsider its loose restrictions, Agence France-Press reported. 👁🗨 May 7 24,623 cases, 3040 deaths.2 points

Not at all. That's a great idea though and I feel you should subscribe to it. You just want to keep pushing something because you seem to have an unhealthy obsession with the alt right and an equally unhealthy obsession with criticizing the left. And you rarely make any sort of discussion point. You call names or make insults or post clearly biased stories. You're not interested in people being fair because fair to you is waving the banner of the alt right. That's pretty obvious my friend.2 points -

That's a terrible example actually, since multiple news outlets have done investigations into it. Do you even hear yourself? You pump the tires of a guy with over 20 credible sexual assault/harassment allegations and continue to this moment to elevate ONE allegation about Biden as an example of 1) Biden is awful 2) the left are hypocrites 3) people here are hypocrites. You dont get to do that based on your posting history. You cant argue about the me too movement ruining men's lives and also be mad if everyone doesnt suddenly embrace your narrow faux outrage over a dubious at best allegation.2 points -

From that article: will destroy at least seven times more years of human life than can possibly be saved by lockdowns to control the spread of the disease. This figure is a bare minimum, and the actual one is likely more than 90 times greater. Anxiety is not great, but neither is death. For discussion purposes : the trustworthiness of your website lists them as the following: RIGHT-CENTER BIAS These media sources are slightly to moderately conservative in bias. They often publish factual information that utilizes loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by using appeal to emotion or stereotypes) to favor conservative causes. These sources are generally trustworthy for information, but may require further investigation. See all Right-Center sources.2 points -

Well we’ve said September. I think if numbers trend down with the phased in re-opening they will allow fans before a vaccine. Id assume it would require copious sanitizing stations and staff wearing gloves and masks. i doubt Disney is going to wait for a vaccine. Cruise lines are booking dates. Vegas wants to re open. So we will see how bad it gets with the public gatherings soon enough.2 points -

Trump spews a disturbing and angry rant about the Obama administration over the Flynn case MSNBC Written by David Badash / The New Civil Rights Movement May 7, 2020 21 President Donald Trump is baselessly accusing the Obama administration of “treason,” following the news the Dept. of Justice has dropped all charges against his former National Security Advisor Mike Flynn, despite Flynn having pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI. “The Obama administration Justice Department was a disgrace, and they got caught, they got caught,” Trump claimed, which is false. “Very dishonest people, but much more than – it’s treason, it’s treason.”1 point

I bought this beauty today on a facebook page called CFL Collectables. The CFL used to have an arm of the league called CFL Properties where you could order this poster as well as all other CFL teams back in 1970. They only sold it for one year. I bought mine from a collector & I'mgoing to get it framed. I had one originally but the corners ripped from the taaape I used to put it on my wall. I've always wanted another. So, I'm thrilled to have one again. It's not in mint condition but it is 50 years old. Someone suggested getting it in a mounted print as it would look fantastic. Thrilled to have this poster again.1 point -
This is true and my heart really does go out to the decent, average, hard-working American people that are taking it on the chin right now. The stock markets are rising due to the influx of trillion of dollars in stimulus cash. What a bizarre scenario as the Fed prints cash and devalues the American dollar, the effects of which will be felt by virtually every economy in the world. Further, it is my understanding that only $150 billion of the nearly $3 trillion coronavirus relief package – a mere 5% – has been allocated to the 50 states and they are not allowed to use it where they need it most, to plug the holes in their budgets caused by the mandatory lock-down.1 point

I stuck with it & liked it. The last scene in Episode 8 was the 5 astronauts on the launch pad so I think Season 2 would have been more sci fi than the melodrama with Tom Haggerty's daughter. Her character was just s damned annoying. Just a question, is that why you weren't into that series? Too much melodrama & not enough action? If they gave a second chance to Another Life then The First deserved the same fate.1 point -

In the United States, which has suffered the most coronavirus deaths, the toll per million inhabitants is lower than Sweden's at 219. I stand by my stance that in-game interviews set up by TSN are the stupidest idea they have put out, a close second to having Rod Black as a PBP announcer. The cherry on top of this poor decision was the Grey Cup game. Highly embarrassing for the CFL, the fans, and I bet poor Keith was regretting the decision to go up in the booth. He’ll never do the CFL again. He might even write a half-assed half time song about that experience. “Urban Miss”1 point
