    Covid-19

Yeah the second wave could be trouble. If Manitoba is able to keep things locked down we’ll be alright but the pressure is going to be on to re open. Will the feds extend CERB and everything else to next spring? I doubt it. So there has to be a re-opening and a reluctance to close of a second wave hits. It’s going to be tough.

    Covid-19

This would explain why some clusters of fatalities have occurred: ‘Up to a Dozen’ COVID-19 Variants in the United States As the lockdown settled in, so did the coronavirus. And then it began mutating into all sorts of local strains. Six months after the novel coronavirus first leaped from animals to people in Wuhan, China, and three months after the virus began spreading across the United States, scientists are finally beginning to understand the overall shape of the pandemic. Drawing samples from tens of thousands of COVID-19 patients and decoding the samples’ genomes, scientists are making so-called “phylogenetic” maps of the pandemic over time. The maps help researchers start to answer some important questions.

It will also depend on social gatherings where precautions have not been taken, and the US has a lot of gospel meetings where masks are discouraged, so that is also a flashpoint.

The feds can’t keep on loaning billions and paying people not to work. Eventually inflation will go through the roof, our dollar with drop, and our credit rating could be in serious trouble.

I also think Manitoba has done well, but I’m worried about who is on our borders - Ontario and the Dakotas.

There will always be the those who are willing to sell out their principles in exchange for perceived gain- it happened with Jews in Hitler's Germany, French in France, and doctors in Jonestown gave poison to their own children. In my experience, abusers and megalomaniacs have an uncanny instinct for finding both vulnerable victims and enablers.

Yup. Crazy. Like I get it. We have lakes and great summer activities. Take a summer off kids. One summer. Next year, party all you want to, sharing all the bodily fluids you want to.

I'll be honest, I don't want the Canada/US border open, North Dakota isn't terrible but the USA as a whole is a mess right now. Thanks for providing the stats @FrostyWinnipeg.

    Covid-19

This is, by definition, a global pandemic. Damned few countries and economies are or will be free of the effects, and governments will have to choose between massive death rates or deficits, and I think that most people will choose the deficits with the attendant higher taxes. But then, that's socialism, isn't it? Unless taxpayer moneys are used to prop up businesses, some of whom have managed to avoid paying any sort of taxes but still line up at the trough.

    Covid-19

Back when it was like 5000 people were complaining that it was just a flu and why don’t people care about the flu as much. Those people had poor comprehension skills and were pushing an agenda but still. Sadly they were wrong. We all knew it. Perhaps they can’t post an apology lol. But still it’s awful and the people laughing this off at the beginning are horrible people.

From what I was told, there were a number of false positives (8 was the # given) this week so your information is fairly accurate. False positives are supposed to be rare and we've had quite a few of them in Manitoba so that's makes me wonder about the testing methods being used here.

    Restaurant/food thread

Every pizza place that I worked at just used the normal dough and folded it over...nothing extra special to make it fluffy. When my wife makes home made pizza dough, it varies based on the yeast and baking powder that she adds. Also pizza hut is yucky.

  30. Sean McGuire “I want to get back up there and prove myself, for sure. But, more than anything, I’m just chomping at the bit to get back to my teammates and just do my job. I’m going to continue to try and learn from Zach. Last year down the stretch learning from him was unbelievable and our relationship grew a lot. I learned so much from him in a short period of time and even in these Zoom meetings, just being able to pick his brain and hear him communicate and how he dissects things on the field has made me absolutely excited to get back and continue to prove myself to my teammates. I want to continue to earn trust in the locker room with my teammates, that comes first.“All I can do – all everyone can do – is just wait this thing out.”https://www.bluebombers.com/2020/05/23/column-story-sean-mcguire/
