delayed response to this... I agree with you and think they are both very good receivers... but on top of that, they are true Mike O'Shea guys... they take their role and give 100% on every play... they put the team success ahead of their personal success... when Bailey scored that TD in the GC (which we all know was called back) all he did was celebrate that they're going to win... not his personal accolades... Another quick story... after the parade, my friend and I went our separate ways and he happened to run across Lawler doing an impromptu autograph session... Lawler had a friend there saying "it's cold, let's go" (obviously paraphrasing)... and Lawler refused to leave saying the weather was fine and it's all about the fans... he wouldn't leave until they all got an autograph... These are the kind of players we want on this team...7 points

There is a lot of sensationalist bullcrap in that article. I would count that maybe half of that holds any merit. But half of it being true isn't great for the league, either. It mentions Wade Miller running the league, and in the same breath talks about presidents not taking any paycuts. https://3downnation.com/2020/04/16/bombers-cut-payroll-wade-miller-kyle-walters-mike-oshea-included/ He mentions the Riders budget in how they bring in 30 million dollars in revenues and how they ended up losing money. Don't the Riders disclose their finances just like us? It's not like 30 million goes directly in their pockets. There are costs. The kicker was when they spent 2 million dollars on the Grey Cup that didn't happen. The margins in the CFL are fairly thin. If you're going to throw a bunch of **** out there, you might want to make sure a whole bunch of it isn't proven false.6 points -

Saw Ken Burns last night, a respected historian, say “I think we’re in the middle of an enormous reckoning right now in which anxieties and the pains and the torments are bubbling up to the surface. It’s very important for people like me, of my complexion, to be as quiet as possible and to listen.” Said another way less eloquently, Matt Gaetz, sit down, stfu, and really listen.2 points -

My thoughts too. Wish they would just rip the band aid off and officially cancel the season. Ask the Gov for funds to keep the league a float. And start planning for 2021 which will still be heavily impacted by COVID.1 point -

With all respect I can muster, I don’t care what Lindsey Graham has to say about anything. Since his turn to the dark side, he has cemented his place in history. Him siding with logic, reason and fact at this stage carries no weight.1 point -
Lindsey Graham breaks with Trump over Obama attack: "I don’t know what he’s talking about" Graham rejects Trump’s claim Obama is guilty of treason. In a recent interview on the Christian Broadcasting Network, President Donald Trump was asked specifically what crime President Barack Obama committed as part of the vague conspiracy narrative the president calls "Obamagate." Trump responded, "treason." But on Tuesday, Politico reported that the president's staunchest Republican allies in the Senate aren't willing to back him up on this — including Senate Judiciary Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-SC). "I don't know what he's talking about," said Graham. "I don't have any evidence to believe he committed treason." https://www.salon.com/2020/06/24/lyndsey-graham-breaks-with-trump-over-obama-attack-i-dont-know-what-hes-talking-about_partner/1 point

LORD HELP US: GOP House Candidate Insists George Floyd Killing Was Staged Winnie Heartstrong has put out a 23-page document laying out a series of incoherent conspiracy theories about Floyd’s death. She’s likely to be the party’s nominee. A Republican House candidate in Missouri has published her own half-baked report claiming that the video of George Floyd’s death—which has sparked nationwide protests to end the racial inequities in the criminal-justice system—is, in fact, a staged “false flag.” Winnie Heartstrong, a candidate running for the St. Louis congressional seat held by Lacy Clay (D-MO), has pushed conspiracy theories about Floyd’s death for nearly a month on Twitter. In late May, a video featuring Heartstrong claiming that “George Floyd is alive” circulated among far-right Twitter accounts and received more than 100,000 views.1 point

I suspect that the GOP political calculus is that because **** rolls downhill fast in America, it's not the GOP voters who are going to suffer the most from this, it'll be poorer browner people. And the GOP shrugs at school shootings; they're not going to care about a couple hundred thousand excess coughing deaths. Plus shutting down the economy costs rich people money and encourages government intervention. Neither of these are big wins with the GOP. So their reaction is tragic and predictable. We will see whether this holds up with voters.1 point -

‘Born-again Karen’: Top Trump campaign attorney mocked for suggesting ‘they’ are trying to ‘cancel Christianity’ Jenna Ellis, Senior Legal Adviser to the Trump 2020 campaign and personal attorney to President Donald Trump, is being mocked on social media after posting a tweet suggesting Christianity is under attack and might be canceled. Few seem to know that her tweet follows her diatribe posted at the far right Breitbart website falsely claiming “The Left Will Cancel the Constitution.” Ellis is an anti-LGBTQ religious extremist who supports criminalizing homosexuality. GLAAD has an entire page documenting her attacks on the LGBTQ community. https://www.alternet.org/2020/06/born-again-karen-top-trump-campaign-attorney-mocked-for-suggesting-they-are-trying-to-cancel-christianity/1 point

Reaganomics halted a progressively narrowing wage gap and lead us to where we are now. He fired 11,000 striking union members which made it ok to declare war on unions. The middle class has never recovered. He ignored the AIDS epidemic and when he wasn't ignoring it, advanced the notion that it was a sinners' disease. He revoked the Fairness Doctrine which lead to the establishment of Fox News, Rush Limbaugh etc. He campaigned on the idea that government is bad and doesn't serve the people's interest. He repealed the Mental Systems Act which lead to the homelessness or incarceration of thousands of the mentally ill. His administration was statistically the most corrupt ever. 138 members of his team were investigated, indicted or convicted for their roles in various scandals. He deregulated the Savings & Loan industry which would lead to the subsequest Savings & Loan crisis. Was basically the initial funder of Al Qaeda when he funded Afghans opposed to Russia because he hated communism that much. Reagan was an FBI snitch during the McCarthy years. He created the Office of Public Diplomacy which manipulated media with White Propoganda. Please do your own research on this - terrifying. His administration used EPA Superfunds to influence elections. As mentioned, Iran-Contra. He vetoed sanctions against Apartheid South Africa. He also said this: "Last night, I tell you, to watch that thing on television as I did," Reagan, then the governor of California, can be heard saying to Nixon during a phone call following China's recognition by the U.N, “To see those — those monkeys from those African countries — damn them, they’re still uncomfortable wearing shoes.” https://www.salon.com/2019/08/01/that-racist-reagan-recording-just-confirmed-what-my-community-already-knew/ etc. Almost everything wrong in America now can be traced back to the Reagan years.1 point -

Bombers president Miller comes to defence of CFL commissioner AmbrosieWe didn't put out a press release about that as a league but that's what was done," said Miller, a former Bombers player. "Throughout every team's organization there've been reductions in salaries, staff positions have been eliminated, budgets decreased throughout the business operation . . . all of these things are going on to get our league and teams through this and get our players back on the field."We really need (CFLPA) to grasp the seriousness of the situation facing the league and our teams. We're a gate-driven league and that's been taken right away now because of COVID and the public health concerns, which we fully understand."It's absolutely unfair to go at our commissioner and suggest we're not working hard to find a recovery plan to get back to 2020 and the future. Just absolutely inaccurate and they've been engaged through this process." https://www.collingwoodtoday.ca/national-sports/bombers-president-miller-comes-to-defence-of-cfl-commissioner-ambrosie-24462421 point -

Back when the Bombers held training camp in Brandon, I wrote to Cal Murphy begging him to let me help out (Would've been '94 or '95?) I was 11 or 12. It was the thrill of a lifetime, the team let me essentially be the "water boy," I got to miss school, ride my bike over to Kinsmen 'stadium' and hang around my heroes for a few weeks. I got a lot of pics of that time with Cal, Dunigan, Wilcox, Walby and the boys. What a time! I was also there for Reinebold's first training camp in Portage. I have nothing but fond memories literally everyone in the organization treated me extremely well and I'd get a practice used J5V at the end of each camp lol.1 point -
