So, while some left-leaning opinion pieces from two relatively unknown bloggers whining about some fictitious connection to Harper militarism/jingoism sure do qualify as bitching, they do not even remotely qualify as a movement. And certainly not in the same hemisphere as those wanting to rid sports of racially insensitive team names. This ridiculous narrative you've grabbed onto with the Jets is nowhere near the same as the actual situations regarding the Redskins or the Eskimos. Get a grip on reality.

MLB situation is so much different because there's no bubble. NHL announced today that there were 0 positive cases over the last week, and now all the teams are in the bubble and will be tested daily. In theory, everything SHOULD be okay, but we'll see how things go. I have high hopes for Bubble Life.

Soccer leagues in Europe did pretty well also but they had brought down new cases significantly before restarting, Florida is on fire but by having NBA players in a bubble they can control it better. In baseball it's been barely a week and you see players and coaches not wearing masks properly.

Knock on wood but the bubble for the NBA seems to be working so far and I have similar hopes for hockey. Now the MLB/NFL model, nope.

Today, they could pressure the team to change the name as no doubt some snowflakes will find it offensive. The old Jets had nothing to do with the military. Ben Hatskin was friends with AFL New York Jets owner Sonny Werblin & liked the name so he chose it first for his WCHL junior team & then for his WHA team.

talking to my hockey friends in town, the Kraken are definitely going to be everyone's second favorite team .... most of the population of Seattle wasn't born here so the hockey fans already have deep loyalties to another team like I do. I like the logo.
