Streveler “There have been quite a few guys throughout the facility who chat me up about it because its kind of unique and I have nothing but good things to say about my time up in Canada.”“Its super unfortunate that the CFL season got canceled. I’ve got a lot of love for my teammates and the people up there. I know it was really tough on all of them.”https://3downnation.com/2020/08/21/cardinals-qb-chris-streveler-bonded-with-head-coach-kliff-kingsbury-over-shared-love-of-canadian-restaurant-chain-earls/

  10. Shawn Lackie used to work in communications for the league, but he’s been in real estate for the last 16 years.About a dozen years ago he recalls listing a home in Oshawa, Ont. that he found out was the home Hawerchuk grew up in.In chatting with one of the long-time neighbours, Lackie heard an interesting story.“He told me that in 2001 when Dale was named to the Hockey Hall of Fame Dale came back to the neighbourhood and personally delivered invitations to the people that were still living in that area,” Lackie told me. “It was his way of saying thanks to the neighbours that supported his hockey dreams from a very early age. Now how classy is that?”https://winnipegsun.com/sports/football/friesen-some-good-ideas-and-some-lousy-ones-for-the-cfl?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

  16. I had this poster when it came out in 1970 from CFL properties. Had it in my room for years. When it came time to take it down the edges ripped & I ended up throwing it away. I recently bought another from a fan selling his on CFL Collectibles which is a facebook memorabilia page. The poster was pretty beat up & showed its age of 50 years so I had it made into an acrylic print. Cost me $270 but all the wrinkles & tears as well as tape glue on the sides were scanned away & I got a beautiful rendition back that is better than the original. The bonus is that I have the original inside a container stored away in a safe place at home here. This is acrylic print is proudly displayed in my rec room. It means more to me now with the CFL season cancelled & all this uncertainty with the league coming back than it did when I was a teenage fan. Not knowing very much about the history of the league half a century ago. Acrylic prints while very bright do reflect the light. I should have taken this standing just a little bit to the right or left as you can see the light reflecting in the photograph. It still is outstanding & I'm glad I paid the big bucks to get it done as it's a collector's item. The funny part is my son is a big CFL fan living in Seattle. He was born in Calgary & loves the Stamps but I told him this will be his someday as I want it kept in the family. He knows how important it is to me.

  17. My Dad took me to my first game, pointed out Leo Lewis, who was playing out the string, with a bad knee.....and spoke to me, at length about the greatness of Lewis. My Dad didn't get that animated, very often....

  20. Just having something that means that much to me, to look forward to each week.....it's taken a huge emotional toll on me. Having hockey back is cool and all, but even if the Jets and Oilers were still alive, it doesn't mean as much to me as CFL does. Not even close.
