really tho much ado about nothing..some may get a sniff and maybe a workout, but majority are just grasping at straws and hoping to get some kind of income for playing this year..I'd bet 99 percent are back in CFL next year6 points -

Trump telling the world that he did not have a series of mini strokes and even though it looks like by some of his actions lately it's possible, who the hell asked him, the POTUS is flat out crazy and trying to get ahead of another thing that will make him look weak2 points -

2019-20 Grey Cup Champs Off-season discussion.

I would pay good money to someone to allow me to openly mock Roughrider players/fans after any of the following events: Throwing an interception Losing a fumble Dropping a pass Getting a divorce after sleeping with their own cousin Sleeping with farm animals Getting remarried to cousin noted in (4), after cousin realized you weren't related to farm animal in (5) Kickers hitting a field goal post Quarterbacks also hitting a field goal post "Sticking it" to your rival by retiring as a QB 2 weeks before season starts, only to have your roster spot taken by Streveler resulting in a Grey Cup win for your rival. That time their mascot was accused of sexual assault (https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/saskatchewan/sexual-assault-advocates-gainer-reaction-1.5222683) All those years we had two teams named "Roughriders" in the CFL and they both sucked. In 1986 they both finished at the bottom of their division. Appropriate. Fun Fact to break things up - Saskatchewan holds the CFL record for largest loss by shutout, and is also the runner up! (they lost 56-0 to Winnipeg on July 5, 1986, and lost to Edmonton 55-0 on August 24, 1959) Every "too many men" penalty they take, seriously it is funny every single time2 points -

Trumps end game is to stay in power by any means possible, to the extent of Americans killing each other, he doesn't care as long as he is President he will stoke racism and violence because he knows that the other side of him losing is investigations from both civil and political authorities.2 points -

Grey Cup Fan Base
TBURGESS reacted to SpeedFlex27 for a topic
I have been a CFL fan since 1965. I was a season ticket holder with the Bombers for nearly 20 years. However, I don't consider myself to be any better than you. Or others posters. Yes, I've seen more than most here from monumenmtal games to great players of the past but I have never thought or wished my name would appear with the Grey Cup in the Hall Of Fame. I've done nothing to warrant my name be with the Cup in any way, shape or form.1 point -

I bought in, more to support the league than a sense of ego or personal legacy. I respect that some people feel it is a cash grab, but I look at it as a decimal place in my long term support of the team and the league during tough times. I fully respect the hard work and dedication that the players and coaches put into the game, all with the goal of getting their name on the cup. I don't want to diminish what they've done, but supporting this initiative doesn't put your name on the cup, only on the fan base. I've been a season ticket holder since 1970, and rarely miss a home game. I've been to 20+ Grey Cups including the last 17 in a row. I've been to games in every CFL city. I've coached kids at the amateur level who have gone on to play in the CFL. I believe that the fan base, especially the season ticket holders, are the bedrock of the league. I would respectfully suggest that I've got as much or more invested in this league as a player who played a half a season, got paid, and lucked out and made the game day roster on a championship team. As a note, I renewed my season tickets for the Bombers as a show of on-going support. I also have a subscription to the WSO, and I donated my "cancelled" tickets to the organization rather than request a refund. If we want to have these things in our city, we need to support them. I recognize that my financial situation is different than others, and that does affect the decision making process. Certainly years ago supporting the league like this wouldn't have been an option for me, so I don't cast shadows on those who don't participate. It's really not much different than supporting other charities, many of whom put up a plaque to recognize their donors.1 point

Covid-19

It was reported today that Alberta had 402 new cases since Saturday. The Alberta government has removed the requirement for social distancing in schools as of today. Schools reopen tomorrow. One elementary school in Calgary has reported a Covid outbreak today. The Principal, Vice Principal & Secretary may have come in contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid. They have to quarantine for 14 days. Neither the Calgary Board of Education, Alberta Department of Education or Alberta Health Services are closing the school & it will stay open. Another principal is being sent to the school while the other one quarantines. Our Premier & his damned government is bound & determined to open schools on their terms & aren't listening to anyone. They know best & people may die.0 points -
