I suppose I can't support fascists. It's a line I've drawn. And if the fascists are coming here, and I know they are, I'll be standing with those that oppose it. If trlhe media wants to call them antifa or anti-fascists, I'm down. I also believe at black lives matter. I know it's hard for some to see past their white privilege but if the police are going to be the terrorists, I'll have to oppose them too. Too many lives lost to protect the white supremacists in the ranks.6 points

Because it spreads here. Look at the alt-right nutters that were on MBB. Look at the alt-right nutters in Alberta, while the Premier *wink*wink* says both sides bad. Look at Rebel media, the Sun, National Post, Globe, all owned by alt-right and being pushed by the Cons federally and provincially. We're at the start of this fascist movement, not the end.6 points

There really is no Antifa. It’s a movement, an idea against Fascists. To swipe antifa and BLM with the same brush as gun carrying supremacists is just silly. You have to know the difference. Of course you’re going to get Trumpholes on both sides, the difference being intent. Peaceful protests should not be harassed and threatened. Can you honestly say alt right demos are disrupted by the BLM movement or is it just one way?2 points -

I would be shocked if we moved Patrik...His class of player doesn't come around too often.....We have to have cash in the kitty to make a decent offer to top flite defensemen without parting ways with star players...TSN mouth pieces are trying to jack up interest by creating a scenario that most likely doesn't exist regarding Laine ...Can't blame them though as the NHL is in 'deadsville' this year along with a few other professional leagues...Hopefully Chevy is on top of his game and we can make a decent deal to improve.........hopefully2 points -

And it’s the ignorance, and the racism. It’s not just the states of course, but that’s where we see it and witness it the most. There should always be a blowback to this kind of behaviour and we are affected by this in many ways if you really think about it. I usually don’t post political stuff, but what’s happening in the US goes way beyond politics in what we perceive to be a “democracy”. We have to comment on this because simply saying harrumph, we’re ok, we don’t live there, is simply not good enough. The world is speaking out and the credibility of the US is sinking to an all-time low and his enablers should have to pay a price. What that is, I don’t know. But if we Canadians can flip some of the smarter Americans to vote out Trump, then it’s worth it. The stupid are beyond our reach.1 point -

Yeah, I don't understand why people are losing their **** over this- it was expected. The Republicans have no morals, shame, or integrity, why were people disappointed that the lot of them comport themselves in a hypocritical, sanctimonious and generally people of low character manner, it's expected. You don't think trumpism isn't seeping into Canada? I mean, Jason Kenny is a poor man's trump and he is premier of wild rose country. He ran on a populist platform like trump did... and it worked. The expectation of norms in the USA also affects what is acceptable here in Canada. I mean, I find myself affected by it- I have given Trudeau far too many passes because my bar is set @ trump right now. "Trudeau-We scandal raises concerns over government granted contract"- I'm all... "Yeah sure, that doesn't look good, but is it really that bad... I mean trump installed a donor loyalist as Post Master General to break the USPS because he wanted to **** with mail in voting during a pandemic..." I should be a lot more concerned about the We scandal than I have been... What happens down south affects us a lot more than most think.1 point -

I guess it's the fact I don't feel that it's either one or the other- I can ***** about both problems, I don't feel that if I ***** about one, it nullifies my bitching about the other. Also, what happens in the USA... generally seeps into our great Country- in a much milder form I concede, but still seeps nonetheless. It's kind of like when people say "Why are you donating to African famine relief? You have hungry people in your own country. Why don't you take care of them instead?" 1- You can do both. 2- If you can't help both; maybe help out the people that don't have a safety net. Because one group's worst day is a whole lot worse than the other's. 3- Responsibility of privilege. If you are in a place of privilege, it is your responsibility to help those less fortunate.1 point -

I agree and I think that they would be crazy to trade him. I wouldn't touch him or Sheif. Selanne all over again. If they were going to, they could get a prospect and D man (plus a lot else, I would hope). Since the team is ready to win now, top forwards, top goalie, but lacking depth at the back, a D man could help them win next year. This assumes that they can't sign any D man of value next month. And, our window to win the Stanley Cup did close last year when we lost three starting D Men on the right side. It can be quickly re-opened again with another quality D man or two or three.1 point

The one thing I don’t get from the local TSN1290 media (and I sense the majority of the “Laine trade” talk is solely a media creation rather than them actually quoting sources) is that they keep saying the Jets have a 2-3 year window to win a Stanley Cup, which I think is nonsense. Their top 5 forwards aside from Laine (Wheeler, Scheifele, Connor, Ehlers) are locked in for 4 more years each minimum, as is Hellebuyck, and their top d-man Morissette is here for 7. And team windows always seem to be short-changed. How many times did we hear that the Caps window was closed before they won, or the Sharks before they made the final, or the Pens after the 2009 Cup win, or Boston after the 2013 Cup loss (you get the picture). Laine is still an RFA after next year’s contract is up, so we have him for 3 years minimum right now. Don’t move him unless we clearly win the trade from a “right now” perspective, otherwise, take the $11 million plus from Kulikov and Byfuglien that is off the books and get a serviceable centre and d-man.1 point -
