Unfortunate news indeed. Love him or hate him, he did way more for the CFL that we’ll ever know.

  2. Khabib is the P4P GOAT and it's not even a question in my mind. It's not just the unblemished record, it's the way he won... never cut, never dropped, only lost (arguably) 2 rounds over the course of his UFC career, and made some elite guys look very average.

This city should not be dealing with that criminal. He and his associates fleeced this city. He's a crook. The park is beautiful and will remain beautiful under new management. The American Association is now affiliated with MLB, which will attract another buyer and a new, more balanced deal with the city.

No idea where to put this, but incredibly sad news out of the CFL, as David Braley has passed away. The man (and his $$$) saved the CFL multiple times over.

It should not be ok. They can criticize our supply management, but dole out billions in subsidies to farmers. All their subsidies are doing is creating an artificial economy that is driving up the price of land. Land in South Dakota isn't much better than land in MB., yet the prices are double. Also, the colonies in the states always tell us - the money they get from farm subsidies, they pretty much have to turn around and spend it on medical insurance. There is really no net benefit.

God no. True North is already getting plenty of money out of this city and province. I don't want Chipman anywhere near another property. He can own the Jets and Moose and that's enough. Even if he were to sell the franchise and it moved, the AA would give Winnipeg another with a new owner. This has been a very successful market for them.

Yes, it's a beautiful park and a nice way to spend an evening or afternoon, but the whole Goldeyes business scheme has stunk from the beginning. Katz was self-dealing by billing the city for parties he held at his restaurant; the parking lot deal stinks to high heaven and him failing to disclose more financials for taxpayer subsidizies makes the fish smell even fishier. I could get behind the franchise if he wasn't involved at all, but I actively don't support the team because of the above. He's no different than Trump in a business sense - just on a much smaller scale.

The CFL has relied on owners like Braley and Young, along with the community based teams forever. To be an owner of a CFL team, you need to willing to lose money sometimes and reinvest any surpluses back into the club. You must love the CFL or you won't last. Braley loved the CFL.

  20. Better yet, he'd need even less of those states if he ends up taking Texas, which is now looking very possible. But then if he does take Texas, there's no way he wouldn't take the vast majority of those states save for maybe Arizona or Florida.

I read a thing today (Naylor, maybe?) where, apparently, the Lions were about to fold, and CBC (the CFLs only broadcaster) was apparently going to stop broadcasting if there was no team in BC, so someone from the government went to Braley and told him about it, and that's how he jumped in to help them out the first time....

At this point it's entirely up to individual states to handle their Covid business. The Feds are too dumb and too corrupt to do anything. I feel bad for those stuck with Red State Governors. So many will needlessly die. Far more than they are reporting now and into the future.

JJ Pryor - examined 102 news sites on the news bias chart Which sites are actually biased? Which news sources consistently provide more fiction than facts? How impactful are the relationships between reliability, bias, and traffic? The aim was to rank the publications by the least amount of bias with the most amount of reliability in their reporting. The following 15 news sources ranked the highest under this metric. 🟢AP, 81.2% 🟢Reuters, 80.7% 🟢Weather.com, 80.5% 🟢ABC news, 77.3% 🟢The Advocate, 77.3% 🟢Bloomberg, 74.4% 🟢National Public Radio, 78.0% 🟢Wall Street Journal, 75.5% 🟢The Hill, 72.2% 🟢Financial Times, 73.0% 🟢LA Times, 76.4% 🟢PBS, 74.8% 🟢Al Jazeera, 77.3% 🟢CBS, 73.5% 🟢Fortune, 70.5% None of the above news sources have a high enough score to be considered as being biased (their reporting is largely neutral in terms of politics — a very good thing) https://towardsdatascience.com/how-statistically-biased-is-our-news-f28f0fab3cb3

Trump : coverage of covid, being bad for Donald Trump, should be against the law. "President Donald Trump argued on Monday morning that it ought to be against the law for the news media to cover the pandemic ahead of the elections as the COVID-19 death toll in the U.S. surpasses 225,000. “We have made tremendous progress with the China Virus, but the Fake News refuses to talk about it this close to the Election,” he tweeted. “COVID, COVID, COVID is being used by them, in total coordination, in order to change our great early election numbers. Should be an election law violation!”

Is it even Republican loyalty or just out and out hatred of all things “Democrat”? If you asked someone why they are Republican and they pointed to smaller government, OK maybe. If they said they wanted reduced spending and fiscal conservatism, it would be easy to point out that the deficit has consistently grown under Republican leaders and shrink under Democrat leaders since Reagan. If you listed off “Republican” values that are “pro-life” only until the baby is born but then ignores the welfare of that child growing up, does not support sufficient health care for anyone but the rich, encourages voter suppression, gerrymandering, trampling of equal rights for women, people of colour, LGBTQ, puts draconian protection of gun rights over the simplest measures to protect kids in schools from mass shootings, all under the guise of “respecting biblical teachings”, then would most stand up and say, “yes I am a proud Republican because I believe that others should be repressed more than me”? Instead it comes across more as a “never a socialist radical lefty”. And hey, I am certain it works both ways, and Liberals point to the flaws of the other Conservative side more than touting why liberalism is the way to be. People too easily can denigrate what someone else will stand for and not have the courage to own what they themselves stand for. Easier to cast stones than stand up to personal scrutiny.

There are zero undecided voters, that's just a fraud. The polls are real, more people would vote for Biden, just like Hillary... But, saying you will vote and actually doing it are two different things. Right now, this is all about who will get out and vote. Will enough Biden supporters go out? Probably. Will Trump try to get only his votes counted? Definitely.

This article is unbelievable. It is years of Trumpisms, tweets, and public statements, showing the gross ineptitude of this administration. Somebody (7 writers/editors at McSweeney’s) went to a lot of trouble to put this together and it takes a lot of time to go through it, but it brings together Trump’s years of Presidency in a chronological order. It is not flattering. It’s been called. “Catalogue of horrors”.
