I'm not sure if you caught the end of today's Roussin presser but he said more restrictions were coming. When he hints like that, you know it's true. I'm still thinking schools will be closed to non-essential worker's children by the end of the week. I also think they may be locking things down. They'll do it for two weeks to see if there's an affect on the numbers, then extend it if it doesn't.

    2020 USA ELECTION!!!!

Donald Trump Jr.’s Bizarre Electoral Map Had Canada Going Republican Don Jr. claimed Canada — which is definitely not part of this election — would go to his father. By Mel Woods As U.S. presidential election results roll in, we’re all spending a lot of time looking at maps featuring various shades of red and blue to designate who’s ahead — Republican candidate Donald Trump or Democratic candidate Joe Biden. While election night is expected to be a long one — and may even extend into subsequent days as mail-in ballots are counted — Trump’s son Don. Jr. shared his own map forecast Tuesday and it was … certainly something.

Trump's time outside of office could be consumed by meetings with lawyers and possibly depositions under oath or testimony at trial. Come late January, he loses protections the U.S. legal system affords to a sitting president, former prosecutors say. Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance, who enforces New York state laws, has been conducting a criminal investigation into Trump and the Trump Organization for more than two years. Vance has suggested in recent court filings that his probe is now broader and could focus on bank, tax and insurance fraud, as well as falsification of business records. "The fact that they have issued the subpoenas and have litigated all the way to the Supreme Court suggests that this is a very serious criminal investigation of the president," Brettschneider said. https://www.cbc.ca/news/world/trump-2021-legal-challenges-1.5794891

  8. Without going to any video to refresh my memory: Against Calgary- 1)although a scoring play, Medlock’s 52 yard FG at the end of the half. Ice cold ball, brought us to within 6 points in a half we were outplayed in 2) LaPo letting Streveler stay in for a series. On Demski’s TD run, Streveler held the ball a long time on the handoff and the defender bit on the QB sneak, allowing Nic to get through the hole untouched, then it was a foot race 3) The physicality Of the defensive backs. Those first half hits made the receivers skittish and it showed in the 3rd when they did not commit to route running and dropped a few passes. No Levi had zero yards passing in that quarter and you could see his receivers were rattled 4)Mike Jones’ “simultaneous catch” INT when Calgary could have gone up 14-0 early 5) On Streveler’s nail in the coffin TD, Hardrick pulls from his right tackle spot to left tackle. Kenny Lawlor takes his spot and seals off the right side with a great block, Hardrick absolutely crushes his block and Strev is able to bounce outside and go all the way. Brilliant blocking scheme Against Sask- aside from the ones you mentioned, the goal line stand play, specifically 1) the dumb play calling from the Sask o-coordinator. If William Powell was fed the ball I think Sask just might score when they kept imploding inside the Bomber 5. 2) The defensive poise after Fajardo threw an illegal pass after running past the line of scrimmage. Obvious blown call even after the review (and I don’t but the whole”back foot still behind the line” - it was not) gives them a gift first down, but the D buckled down and held to a FG. 3) Winston Rose’s INT and even more importantly big run back 4) On the 2nd last goal line stand, 3 huge plays. First down Jefferson times the snap perfectly, goes untouched around the block and forces a bad pass out of bounds. Second down Theadric Hansen meets Powell at the one foot line and stands him straight up one on one. Even forward momentum and Powell crosses the line, Hansen refused to budge an inch and keeps him out. Third down DB Nick Taylor moves up to the line and dives in the legs of the o-line taking out 3 players. Totally opened up the hole for Matson and Bighill to make the stuff play Grey Cup 1) Hansen’s special teams double take out set the emotional tone for the dominance by the Bombers and the half heartedness of the Ticats. 2) Mike Jones hitting Brandon Banks so hard he quit the game with an injury, and then breaking up the long bomb to his Hamilton namesake when a TD could have made the game interesting.

Great news on the vaccine front and of course the Trump team is trying to take credit, Pfizer was not part of Project Warp Speed as they choose to go it alone, the only thing the government did was to purchase millions of doses of the vaccine from Pfizer if their vaccine was successful. Expect more lies from the Trump administration in the coming days, maybe even telling the American public that if Trump isn't given the election they wont give out the vaccine.

  14. I don't think Trump wants to really stay on as President, he knows what is waiting for him the minute he steps away from the WH and the protection of the Presidency, they are going to come after him politically and hit him with civil litigation, his taxes will be released, his wife will divorce him and he in all probability he will left in dire straights financially. So his last play will be to negotiate his departure and try to get the most concessions to escape legal peril for all the crap he has done while President. I say let him play pretend President till the 20th at noon and then have the secret service dragged him out of the WH and throw him out on the street where his fate will be waiting for him.

  15. After the weak roughing the passer call on Jefferson in the beginning of the game, he comes right off the edge causing a clear fumble and biggie recovery. I've said it before and I'll say it again: All the calls went against us the whole playoff run and they overcame every one. Refs gifting Calgary a TD just minutes into the game, Fajardo clearly being 3 yards over the LOS and no call despite a challenge, and then Jefferson getting a weak call in a championship game on him. That's a Mike O'Shea coached team through and through.

It's quite possible that if things don't improve in the next couple of weeks that a lockdown may be in play, I never thought that it would talked about but we can't continue with 300 plus cases a day and people continuing to die and stretch the hospitals to a breaking point which could happen any day now if it hasn't already.

  17. Another huge play in the west final for me was the 66 yard Collaros to Adams bomb when we were inside our 5. I loved the play call. Im so used to a 3 yard run followed by a 4 yard pass for a two and out in that scenario. It was so refreshing. We go two and out there and sask likely starts on our side of the field or we concede 2 points. Big turning point for me that could have went the opposite way.

  35. The trouble with ruling by executive order -- as Obama did because of Mitch, and as Trump did because he was too ******* stupid to try to pass legislation -- is that the next executive can undo those things without a lot of effort.* Real change, like fundamental change, will demand legislation. And Mitch is a problem, but it's not just Mitch. The big Dem tent means that there are lots and lots of cautious and centrist Dems in Congress who are really not interested in progressive legislation. You saw that in 2009-2010, when a single pissy senator (**** Lieberman forever) blew up the public option in Obamacare. Much as I would love to see Biden just hammer on Medicare for All and bully the government into making it happen, I'm not holding out a lot of hope. (*The courts famously told Trump he couldn't end DACA .... but not because he lacked the authority to do so, but because federal regulation change has to go through a mandated process and that process was ignored and the court was like "just file the paperwork right and do the right studies to quantify the impact, and then you can change your rules." But doing that kind of work is for chumps, apparently; the Trump gang never came back to it.)

  47. No word yet on if this will be made public, but they've found a way to cobble footage of the entire game together........... For 26 years, one of the greatest single-game accomplishments in CFL history had gone largely unseen. On July 14, 1994, Matt Dunigan made pro football history when he threw for an astonishing 713 yards in a game, carrying his Winnipeg Blue Bombers to a 50-35 win over an Edmonton team that had beaten them in the Grey Cup in 1993. In the immediacy of the game, the sports world took notice. Dunigan recalls Sports Illustrated writing something about the feat and for the weeks after that early season win, it was the conversation that followed the Blue Bombers everywhere they went. But unless you were one of the fans at CanadInns Stadium in Winnipeg, you didn’t get to see Dunigan rattle off touchdown passes of 88, 55, 45, 35 and 33 yards. The league’s television deal wasn’t what it is today, where TSN has exclusive broadcast rights and the airing of every single regular-season and playoff game is a given. RELATED »Watch more Remote Reunion episodes » O’Leary: How the 2009 Alouettes dipped into the fountain of youth » CFL in 40 presented by CDIC: 2009 Eastern Semi-Final AFTER AN INJURY MADE HIM A SPECTATOR IN WINNIPEG’S 1993 GREY CUP LOSS TO EDMONTON, DUNIGAN WAS VERY MOTIVATED TO GIVE EDMONTON HIS BEST WHEN THEY MET IN WEEK 2 OF THE ’94 SEASON (PHOTO: THE CANADIAN PRESS) The Edmonton-Winnipeg meeting in Week 2 of the season went un-aired. For 26 years, fans and even Dunigan himself have relied on the boxscore, highlights and written articles to preserve that one monstrous night. “I’ve seen clips before, bits and pieces,” he said from his home in Destin, Fla. “Of course, everybody knows that that game wasn’t televised, which is mind boggling. It’s a Grey Cup rematch, Week 2 of the following season. We had a point to prove, I think as a football team.” We all know that it happened but all these years later, it almost feels like a folk tale that’s been passed along through a generation of football fans. That changed this year. With the help of Mark DeNobile at the Canadian Football Hall of Fame and a collaborative effort between some CFL and Bombers employees, some admittedly rough footage — but complete footage nonetheless — of that game has been uncovered. Dunigan, along with his former teammates Chris Walby, Miles Gorrell, David Wililams, Alfred Jackson and Bob Cameron were able to finally see it in its entirety and watched it as part of CFL.ca’s Remote Reunion series, driven by Kubota. Adam Marshall, CFL.ca’s coordinator of video content, reached out to TSN looking for the game and found out they only had a limited highlight reel. Eventually, a call was made to DeNobile at the hall of fame in Hamilton. He dug around the hall’s archives and found a VHS copy of the in-stadium feed that aired on the big screen during the game. Marshall had to convert the VHS tape to digital and then work to fill in the blanks. There is no play-by-play of the game, no graphics on the recording. That’s where Bluebombers.com’s Ed Tait came in. Tait, who had written the above-linked Dunigan story when he worked for the Winnipeg Free Press, shared the original stat sheets from the game. That let Marshall figure out where the game was and allowed him to set up the video with timestamps and the score, for the players to watch. So often, you hear an athlete or a team in the wake of a monumental performance say that they’ll process it later, that they can’t remove themselves too much from the moment. With the players reunited to watch this game in its entirety, they were finally able to get the chance to do that. “The train just keeps on moving,” Dunigan said of the players’ mentality in the moment. “It just keeps on rolling and you don’t have time to reminisce, to think about what just happened. You’re just on to the next one. You make the corrections, you game plan for the next game and your focus is elsewhere. “As time goes on, I think you do have the opportunity to reflect and then you get to see it in different aspects as time passes. It’s been a pretty unique process since ’94 to watch this memory struggle and move forward to stay alive. It’s good because it was one of those magical nights and I’m not out there by myself. We’re a football team that had to regroup from the loss in the Grey Cup and the first regular-season game on the road (in 1994) to BC. Our focus was on the task at hand and that never changed.” You can see in the video how Dunigan analyzes the tape and sees small mistakes, opportunities to have done even better than the 713 yards he threw. It’s a different generation of football, rife with opportunities for quarterbacks to air the ball out in a way that you don’t see as often anymore. Dunigan lamented the absence of Mike Kelly on the conference call. Dunigan’s appreciation of his offensive coordinator at the time and a lifelong friend is obvious in our call. If you think of Dunigan and the Bombers’ offence as a symphony working in unison that night, Kelly was the conductor, piecing it all together. Being in the moment and on to the next game back then, Dunigan said there wasn’t really time for the players to process that this historic game went largely unseen. Games fell through the broadcasting cracks back then, Dunigan said, and players just accepted it. Of course, now a key part of the CFL on TSN broadcast team since 1999, Dunigan’s living in a completely different football world than the one he played in. “The TV agreements weren’t like they are now with TSN giving millions and millions of dollars every year to to broadcast their games and to be their partner,” he said. “It just wasn’t something we thought about. We were trying to win football games.”
