That’s not how the law works. If he has a legit case, the courts won’t throw it out because specific performance (paying him out) can’t be met. The court could rule in his favour, but practically speaking he might still not get paid if they are bankrupt. He would just get in line with the rest of the creditors who are owed money. What you are suggesting is crazy. Imagine if I hired you to fix my fence for $10,000, and then did not pay you for services rendered under our agreed upon contract. You sue, I go to court and say, yeah, I don’t have any money to pay him so throw out his lawsuit and the court says to you that you have no case because I don’t have the money I promised you, agreeing to throw out the lawsuit because of my failings, not yours. Businesses everywhere would line up to have a court system that operated that way. Workers, not so much.

Wut. Reilly is 100% in the right. They put guaranteed money in the contract, they have to honor it. It's the same as NHL GMs handing out no trade clauses like chiclets.

Aaaannnnd..... 'Like a lunatic on the subway': Trump's national security adviser is warning staff they'll be fired for mentioning Biden’s name In the months leading up to the 2020 presidential election, countless pundits predicted that if President Donald Trump lost to former Vice President Joe Biden, he would respond with a childlike temper tantrum and refuse to accept the election results — and sure enough, Trump is doing exactly that. Trump has yet to concede to President-elect Biden, making the baseless claim that he was robbed of a victory by widespread voter fraud. And according to a team of four Daily Beast reporters, the outgoing president is so sensitive about losing to Biden that National Security Adviser Robert O'Brien is telling his staff they will be fired even if they even mention Biden's name in Trump's presence.

  7. Joe Biden's win grows more decisive each day as votes are counted President-elect Biden is likely to end up over 5 million votes ahead of Trump in the popular vote when all the counting is done. He'll get about or above 80 million votes -- by far the most of any presidential candidate in history. And let's be clear, the chance of a recount overturning the results in 2020 is basically nothing. Fairvote has looked at statewide recounts since 2000. The average shift in votes has been a mere 430 votes and 0.02 points. The largest shift in votes was a little less than 2,600 and 0.11 points. The bottom line is Biden won this election and it's not particularly close. https://www.cnn.com/2020/11/11/politics/joe-biden-2020-election-win/index.html

Sheldon Adelson is one of Trump’s biggest backers having contributed millions upon millions of $$$. Trump is scamming many smaller trumpers for pittance while ticking off one of his major backers. I don’t think that’s a good strategy... “He lost because he didn’t get enough votes, not because of rampant fraud.” and “he has nothing to lose by cooperating with President-elect Biden’s transition team.”

Remember that all CFL contracts are not guaranteed, so common practice with veterans on the edge was to cut them before Labour Day to avoid them getting paid out for the balance of the season, or cutting a vet in March just before a bonus was due. Lousy optics and a shady way to handle contracts, but all legit in the CFL, so the Lions had the chance to do this with Reilly and did not, so I say they are on the hook for it. Bombers cut loose a bunch of their guys to free them up for NFL opportunities and avoid contract headaches when it was clear this year would not happen. All teams had that option, BC chose to hold on to their guy, so honour the contract.

Senior Republican senators say Biden should have access to classified briefings A growing number of GOP senators told CNN on Thursday that Joe Biden should have access to classified briefings, the latest indication that Republicans acknowledge the President-elect is likely on his way to the White House despite President Donald Trump's refusal to accept the results. https://www.cnn.com/2020/11/12/politics/republican-senators-biden-classified-briefings/index.html

I was clearly wrong about the number. Sorry, if it caused anyone concern. Last time I heard from the same source it was the first time we had over 400 and they were correct. It's still ridiculously high but not double what we see. Suicide. Slow, slow suicide.

And the Pallister government still has not hired back all the nurses they laid off over the past few years. Nurses and housekeeping staff have been forced to work part-time at several different places to survive, making the transmission of infections almost inevitable.

It seems obvious that Trump is trying to install his version of a deep state. By placing his moles in positions of influence or information, his lackeys hope to stymie every intitiative of the incoming regime and exploit every misstep. This makes it necessary for the Biden government to ferret out each and every appointment and prosecute those who have broken the law- right down to the Trump family who violated the Hatch act and Emoluments clause. They cannot be allowed to retain the profits from their misconducts.

Why this retired general says Trump loyalists want to stage a coup: ‘Crazy thing going on inside that White House A four-star United States retired general is sounding the alarm on key national security concerns after President Donald J. Trump shakes up the Pentagon staff less than one week after losing the election to President-elect Joe Biden. "I have been shot at a lot and nearly killed a bunch of times," said Gen. Barry Richard McCaffrey (ret.). "I'm not an alarmist. I stay cool under pressure. Mark me down as alarmed. I just listened to Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA) — wonderful, experienced, mature guy — say this is just payback to [Mark] Esper not being a loyalist. I don't believe it. We're watching a setup of some people who are unqualified for office to be in control of the 2.1 million men and women of the armed forces." McCaffrey said, "And I remind our viewers, the only one who can give orders to the armed forces is the president and the secretary of defense. This acting secretary Chris Miller is a perfectly good, experienced combat soldier. He is unqualified for this office. The other three, one of them, a retired one-star, is a dangerous man. That team moving in, no one in his right mind would have accepted an appointment for 90 days. These people are in there to control a coercive institution of U.S. democracy. Watch out."

I don't want my league failing to pay guaranteed money in any circumstance. BC Management should pass the hat around and get Reilly his money. That looks bad on us big time. Salary cap is expected to shrink if we even get another season. How are we to attract/retain quality players if our contracts aren't worth the un-filed napkins they're written on?

    2020 USA ELECTION!!!!

Just imagine if Republican run states don't ratify the Biden election win, giving their state to Trump against the will of the electorate, I know people will say that will never happen and yet Trump became President and has been bullet proof throughout his Presidency

    2020 USA ELECTION!!!!

At this point, the main purpose of all the false promises that the courts will invalidate the election appears to be money — the fine print on the solicitations for Trump's "legal defense fund" makes clear that the money will mostly be used to pay down Trump's campaign debts. Since Election Day, more than 130 such emails begging for cash have gone out to gullible marks — sorry, I mean Republican voters. Considering what a practiced con artist Trump is, he's probably already working out how to leverage his fake victim status to squeeze his hapless supporters for more cash down the road. salon.com

IMO he was an ok QB that managed to squeeze out every ounce of his skill and stuck around for a long time. He needed an excellent team around him to reach that next level, as opposed to some QB's that can drag people with them and almost will them to be better. He was just good enough to break your heart. It was his nonchalant attitude that always drove me nuts. Ill never forget a post game interview with Bob where Glenn had a brutal night and threw a game ending pick. Bob asked him something like "so kevin, you had a rough night out there, that last interception, the game was within reach, do you maybe wish you had made a different decision on that one?" and Glenn's response was "well you know, its just football. Its just a game. Ill wake up tomorrow". I remember Bob seemed to be at a loss for words after his response. It always just seemed to me that he lacked that fire and drive that most of the greats have.
