Teams from the 80's and early 90's would have a very hard time competing, let alone beating teams in this era...just the way it is...I see it first hand with training recruits the difference in size..speed...stength and skill, not to mention knowledge of game from back when I played...and that wasn't even that long ago...There are guys from the past who could still play and compete if they could time travel here now, but they were the freaks' and anomalies....rosters now are littered with dozens of freaks and anomalies...not to mention they are game ready pretty much all yr long I remember camps when camps were 3 times as long where thats where guys came in to "get" in shape....and then take 2-3 games to "get" into game shape....that doesn't happen now4 points -

It's really hard to compare QB's from different era's, but Reilly, BLM, Flutie, Moon, etc would be great in any era. Some youngsters think that the latest and greatest are the best ever. Some old guys think that no one can touch the heros of their youth. If the old guys played today, they'd have today's coaching and todays offenses. If the current guys played in the past, they'd have that era's level of coaching and that era's offensive schemes.4 points

These guys are buffoons, totally incompetent fools, time after time they have let the US and it's people down, Trump doesn't own this Vaccine nor any other From The New York Times: Trump administration officials passed when Pfizer offered in late summer to sell the U.S. government additional doses of its Covid-19 vaccine, according to people familiar with the matter. Now Pfizer may not be able provide more of its vaccine to the United States until next June because of its commitments to other countries, they said. As the administration scrambles to try to purchase more doses of the vaccine, President Trump plans on Tuesday to sign an executive order “to ensure that United States government prioritizes getting the vaccine to American citizens before sending it to other nations,” according to a draft statement and a White House official, though it was not immediately clear what force the president’s executive order would carry. … Asked if the Trump administration had missed a crucial chance over the summer to snap up more doses for Americans, a spokeswoman for the Department of Health and Human Services said, “We are confident that we will have 100 million doses of Pfizer’s vaccine as agreed to in our contract, and beyond that, we have five other vaccine candidates.” www.nytimes.com/… This is a perfect example of why government fails when it is run like a business, no less a corrupt one. Team Trump (likely Kushner) decided it would be smarter to dangle these billions of dollars among several Big Pharma companies, and get them to fight amongst themselves to give the U.S. the lowest bid, or the bid with the best secret kickbacks to the Trump crime family. At any rate, it’s a bit late for Trump to now try to demand the U.S. get Pfizer vaccines before other countries do. The market has already spoken, and Trump missed his shot. Unforgivable.4 points -

Also if we have camp in the summer, don't be shocked to see Sayles and Kongbo here as well...3 points -

Indonesia is a SE Asian country that straddles the equator but added over 5K cases yesterday. Malaysia, another SE country, added another 1K cases. The Philippines, another SE Asian country, added over 1K cases. All three of those countries are warmer (and in closer proximity to the equator) than Taiwan. India, a South Asian country, is second in the world with over 9.7M cases, adding over 6K more yesterday. Brazil is near the equator and is 4th in the world with over 6.6M cases. Colombia literally straddles the equator and is 10th overall in cases with over 1.3M. Spain, Portugal, Greece, which are all part of the Mediterranean, have combined for well over 2M total cases. Italy is also a Mediterranean country and has had over 1.7M cases. Mexico just added another 6K cases yesterday. Despite its climate, it's one of the hardest hit countries. The three worst states in the US (CA, TX, FL) are all considered warmer climes but have accounted for over 3.5M of the US's total case count. Summer was pretty bad for the US, IIRC. It's almost like temperature, humidity, and places with "endless summer" have little do with the pandemic or its transmission when you look at the entire picture.2 points -

You may be the only one. Jane Orient, the anti-vaccine, climate change denier, right-wing quack MD - Skeptical Raptor Well, one of the most obnoxious anti-vaccine, right-wing, science denying MDs, Jane Orient, is back in the limelight. Orient is the Executive Director of the "Association of American Physicians and Surgeons," the fake medical organization to which both Ron and Rand Paul belong. It's listed as a "quack organization" by Quackwatch, and while its main focus is ranting about the horrors of socialized medicine and Obamacare (same thing), the AAPS also opposes the HPV vaccine, which could cause sluttiness, and promotes the medically invalid lie that abortion causes breast cancer. Oh, and she doesn’t believe in climate change..2 points -

👁🗨 Finally somebody stands up to be counted A Sarasota lawyer resigned his appointment to the panel that picks judges on Tuesday to call attention to the way Gov. Ron DeSantis has handled “public access to truthful data” and the raiding of a data analyst’s home. “The recent events regarding public access to truthful data on the pandemic, and the specific treatment of Rebekah Jones has made the issue a legal one rather than just medical,’' he wrote in a letter to the governor’s general counsel. “...I no longer wish to serve the current government of Florida in any capacity.”1 point

If MBT took a time machine, and a modern OC, back to 84 he would be very successful. However, if MBT were to have broken into the league under the same training and game knowledge that existed at the time he would not have been any more successful than he is now. Same goes for any athlete. Would Crosby score 200 pts in the 80's....possibly...but he's a generational talent. MBT is not. One cannot overstate how much physical and mental conditioning, as well as coaching, has improved over the past 20-30 years. I can't imagine how good James West, or Greg Battle might look with the advancements of today. My guess is they would be all stars in todays game too. Yes, in the NHL, the style of game heavily contributed to Gretzky's gaudy numbers. However, if Gretzky were a rookie today he likely is on his way to being the GOAT....just without the zillion points he put up.1 point
