    2020 USA ELECTION!!!!

Enjoyed this documentary and underscores the importance of pro-actively looking for the full story on news events and not trusting single sources and random tweets in this day and age, which very few people will do. The internet was "supposed" to bring everyone together and connected, but AI/ML optimized for "hits" and views for advertising puts people in bubbles and further apart. And with people seeing custom and tailored messaging / news, they become all the more incredulous that "the other side" could think the things they do, assuming everyone is getting the same news / information.

One thing that the Democrats should do if they take the Senate is give Washington, DC state representation, being predominately Democrat that's 2 more Senators for them

  6. I would take it a step further. When their opinion is absolutely absurd based on tin foil logic usually with a side of racism they truly believe it to be fact in their hoped reality. Then when one tries to present to them the real facts based on the best available evidence to date they yell fake and then feel proud they triggered, they owned the socialists, the libtards, the snowflakes, the lefties etc etc etc.

long past time for Democrats to put their Country before their party. dont have to be terribly smart to see what the end point of letting this pass without consequences is. they have their head up their ass if they ignore this.

    2020 USA ELECTION!!!!

Armed MAGA fanatics spread politics of violence around the country with shooting in Olympia, Washington The pattern has become clear: Wherever pro-Donald Trump "Stop the Steal" rallies are organized, the thugs who come out in large numbers to participate wreak violence on anyone who comes out to protest them. This weekend, even as Proud Boys and other Trump supporters were bringing violence to the streets of Washington, D.C., a similar but much smaller group of MAGA fanatics was doing the same thing across the country in the Washington state capital. And for the second week in a row in Olympia, a Trump supporter fired a gun at counterprotesters for a "Stop the Steal" event—this time, hitting and injuring a man who was wounded and hospitalized at the culmination of a running series of brawls. Police arrested the man, along with three other people at the event. Armed MAGA fanatics spread politics of violence around the country with shooting in Olympia, Washington - Alternet.org

Today is the 8th anniversary of the Sandy Hook massacre. The day the NRA debate logically ended. If 26 childrens’ deaths cannot provoke meaningful gun law change, don’t think anything will. In the aftermath, conspiracy theories rose. None of this SHOULD be in a political thread, but such is the state of the USA now that this seemed to be the most appropriate place to put this piece. It begs the huge question - how did the US get to this point where this kind of thinking not only takes hold but is allowed to grow in the mainstream? What had driven so many to believe all of these conspiracy theories? https://twitter.com/shannonrwatts/status/1338497105627734016?s=20

  16. Electoral College set to seal Trump's fate -- yet again Electors from 50 states and the District of Columbia will gather across the country to cast their ballots, which will confirm Joe Biden as the rightful 46th president and California Sen. Kamala Harris as vice president. Despite the certainty of the constitutional choreography that will confirm Trump's loss, several rebukes from the Supreme Court and multiple court losses, he refuses to accept reality and put the country first by accepting defeat. "It's not over ... we're going to continue to go forward," Trump told Fox News in an interview recorded Saturday, before tweeting on Sunday that the nation's top bench had "chickened out" by ruling Friday that Texas had no standing to file a case on his behalf. Veteran Republican election lawyer Ben Ginsberg told CNN's Ana Cabrera on Sunday that the blunt Supreme Court dismissals of Trump's cases were "the briefest and most summary of dismissals possible. That is a signal in lawyer talk about 'don't waste our time with these theories that you are spouting out.' 17. I'm afraid that the disease of racism/fascism is endemic in American society and deeply, deeply rooted. It has surfaced in the GOP only because it was invited but is also prevalent in the Democratic party as well. Just not as well tolerated, but there nevertheless.

The ‘Terrorgram’ Plot by Neo-Nazis to Seduce Anti-Vaxxers Safe and effective vaccines are finally here. So are white-nationalist fantasies of using diehard skeptics for their own even more twisted ends. As the United States crept towards authorizing the rollout of pharma giant Pfizer’s coronavirus vaccine this weekend, millions of Americans cheered, ecstatic to see the nation take a key step towards the end of a brutal pandemic that has killed nearly 300,000 of their fellow citizens. The reaction from Corona Chan News (CCN) was decidedly more negative. CCN bombarded its readers on the messaging platform Telegram with links and commentary about the supposed dangers of taking a dose of the vaccine, which has in fact proven safe in major trials. Most of the links lead to articles from reputable sources analyzing, for instance, legitimate concerns about potential allergic reactions to the vaccine and discussing the details of a rollout. But the channel’s commentary spun these stories into evidence of nefarious plots to track, sterilize, or mutilate citizens. Within hours of a key FDA panel approving the vaccine’s U.S. debut on Thursday, the channel posted, “Here comes genocide."
