Yes, they needed the gov'ts approval, hoping to match what was done for preseason. I hope it works. I don't like the idea of treating NHLers differently; however, with the NHL's protocols, there is little risk of transmission to anyone.2 points

There are multiple reports coming out of the US from credible sources that Trump's inner circle and possibly Trump himself were directly involved in planning the riot on January 6th. This was a serious attempt to overthrow a legitimately elected government and should warrant the direst of charges against the rioters and those within the GOP and Trump's camp. Apparently there is no remorse whatsoever on the part of these, only regret that it did not pan out. And it did not succeed patially because of the stupidity of Trump and his advisors in choosing incompetent lawyers (ie: Giuliani). The prime reason it did not succeed was that there was a loose coalition of Democrat and progressive leadership who accurately foresaw what Trump would try to do and how he would try to do it. The bottom line is that the coup came a lot closer to succeeding than most people and media are admitting.2 points -

Keep in mind it's the test positivity rate that you should be watching. The amount of positive tests is correlated to the amount of test that are done. The test positivity rate has been going down (in WPG anyway).2 points -
Grays advantage is he could play either tackle spot though, which is harder to find especially in a canadian. Eli is a real stud though too. Those two and speller would start on more teams in the league then not this year. Burnham is a beast and well worth a good pay day.2 points

GOP operatives send clear signals about the next attack on democracy Hours after President Biden declared that "democracy has prevailed" during his inaugural address, longtime Republican strategist Karl Rove urged Republicans to pressure GOP election officials and legislators to create "a model election code" to reconsider the laws surrounding 2020's two voting options that lead to the presidential election's record turnout. "Republicans should also encourage GOP secretaries of state and state lawmakers to develop a model election code," Rove wrote in a January 20 commentary for the Wall Street Journal entitled, "The Republican Future Starts Now." "The job of proposing electoral reforms shouldn't be based on the unsupported claims of widespread fraud peddled by Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell," Rove continued. "Instead, the goal should be to suggest measures that restore public confidence in our democracy. How do states with extensive mail-in and early voting like Florida and Texas get it right?" Rove's commentary comes as Republican-majority legislatures in battleground states such as Georgia, Pennsylvania and Arizona have proposed bills or convened hearings to review the laws that allowed people to vote with mailed-out ballots or early in-person in 2020. "Whenever Karl Rove writes a piece in the Wall Street Journal, the history of it suggests that Democrats should pay careful attention," said David Daley, author of Unrigged: How Americans are Battling Back to Save Democracy. "Because the Wall Street Journal is where Republicans can signal to their donor class their key projects." In March 2010, Rove penned a Wall Street Journal commentary openly discussing the GOP's REDMAP project, which targeted 107 state legislative seats that "would give them control of drawing district lines for nearly 190 congressional seats." REDMAP succeeded, creating GOP majority legislatures and congressional delegations in the otherwise purple states of Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, North Carolina and Alabama. I'll defend Stafford just like Watson..... the man has produced on some absolutely awful teams and some of the absolute worst coaches and gms ever seen in the league. I'm just not sure about his health at this point so I can't see the Lions getting a huge return for him. As a 49ers fan... I'll take Stafford no questions asked.1 point

Or the throw to Darvin Adams back of the end zone vs Calgary. That would have been a sack. That was the official start of our GC run. When we all started to believe. The players too. Might have been the season's most important play establishing Zach Collaros.1 point -

He's the best in the league at a time where the quality of players overall in the league is at it's highest. He's sustained his high level of play throughout his career while playing under multiple coaches. I'd find it hard pressed for anyone to suggest he is not the best of all time.1 point

Prior to Eli injury he was one of the higher rated center prospects in the NCAA going into what would have been his senior year...also at Hawaii in practice he took a lot of reps at the tackle position so grooming to become that, or have value as a depth guy before he takes over a fulltime spot is quite valuable...so landing him where we did was a complete steal I would think this may be Stan's last year if we go out on top again, and the probable switch could be Yoshi taking over the left side if we don't have an import on PR thats able to step in...If we use a Canadian at tackle eventually most likely will be at Right Tackle1 point

This will sound cheesy, I know, but I'm ready to step up and do whatever it takes, from a fan perspective, to help get a season off the ground. I've long toyed with buying seasons tickets, even tho I'm in AB, so maybe this is the year. Everyone, players included, are making sacrifices... I'm ready to step up if need be.1 point

I am really pleased to hear how many players have re-structured their contracts to keep the gang together. Hard to imagine many folks who have suffered financially during the pandemic would step up and take a 50%+ pay cut like Adam Bighill did going from $250,000 to $115,000. But also credit the Bombers for paying him his full $100,000 in bonuses in 2020 when they didn’t even have any games. Honest give and take from both sides, no shenanigans. A salute from this fan for a lot of class and understanding from all sides.1 point -
