This has been the norm in parts of Asia for years already: Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea. When someone is sick, they wear a mask when they go out as a social responsibility in order to minimize the risk of spreading the illness. I still don't understand how wearing a mask to reduce the spread of contagious seasonal viruses is somehow equated to tyrannical actions like having's one's rights or freedom taken away. But that's another discussion.4 points -

dolt. Eric Trump. Fox . “I think every single day, Biden makes people miss Donald Trump more,” said Mr Trump. “When you see some of these policies that are literally destroying jobs, that are destroying industries, that are causing Texas to freeze, that are cutting off our power to our energy grids and all these other nonsensical policies.”3 points

Denmark population under six million. someone explain why Canada can not do this. Are we really as backward as it seems? "Danish energy infrastructure investments firm Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners is looking to build what it says is Europe’s largest production facility of CO2-free green ammonia, with the final product aimed at the shipping and agriculture sector as a means to reduce emissions." The project will be located in the town of Esbjerg on the west coast of Denmark, where the facility dubbed "Power-to-X-facility" will convert power from offshore wind turbines to green ammonia. This will be used by the agriculture sector as CO2-free green fertilizer and by the shipping industry as CO2-free green fuel. The excess heat will be used to provide heating for around one-third of the local households in Esbjerg. The facility will consist of 1GW electrolysis. Ultimately, this is expected to reduce CO2-emissions by about 1.5 million tons CO2 yearly – or the equivalent to removing 730,000 cars from the roads permanently, CIP said." https://www.oedigital.com/news/485481-europe-s-largest-cip-to-launch-offshore-wind-powered-ammonia-plant-in-denmark3 points -

What a performance. Absolutely bodies Boeser on that drive to the net and then clowns Holtby on the GWG. The vertical he gets on the puck is incredible. He wasn't kidding when he said he's never been more ready. He looks like he found his legs midway through that game, which is fantastic.3 points -

While I'd love to be able to attend starting in June, I'd take a start with no fans and maybe season ticket holders only around August or Labour Day (My guess is we have around 16,000 ST holders, so half the stadium).2 points -
If not having players on board when they made their pitch last year was a major issue, hopefully today's announcement is at least a step toward having a joint proposal that's taken more seriously by the feds.2 points

George Clooney To Produce Docuseries On Athlete Sex Abuse Where Jim Jordan Coached Actor George Clooney is producing a docuseries about decades of reported sexual abuse of athletes at Ohio State University, where Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) was once an assistant coach of the wrestling team. The series will be based on a Sports Illustrated article by writer Jon Wertheim last year addressing the allegations against the late Ohio State sports doctor Richard Strauss — and officials’ lack of response. The university said in its annual crime report in 2019 that Strauss committed at least 1,429 sexual assaults and 47 rapes during his 20-year tenure. Strauss was never charged and died by suicide in 2005. The docuseries can’t be welcome news for Jordan, who was the assistant coach of the wrestling team at Ohio State from 1987 to 1995. At least three athletes and a referee have alleged they discussed the abuse directly with Jordan, but that he took no action to stop it. Jordan has denied he was told of any abuse or knew of it. One of the victims in the Sports Illustrated story alleged Jordan knowingly ignored Strauss’ abuse. A one-time captain on Jordan’s team said in an interview with MSNBC’s Joy Reid last year that the scandal is only “going to get worse” for Jordan. The US house and senate have work environments where one has guaranteed time with a very large audience to professionally spew half baked theories, blatant lies, misinformation, skewed half truths, slander etc etc etc to sow doubt and distract from the real issues. The cherry on top is this comes with absolutely no real resistance/countering nor consequential accountability for these types of behavior outside of pearl clutching and social media shaming. It's maddening.1 point -

Hes exactly what our scout team turns up year in and year out. A guy whose biggest weakness is he doesnt fit in the nfl or didnt get a real shot to play. Athletic, high motor, good technical skills. Hes a 4i tweener in the nfl but here he fits perfectly with what we do at DT. Hes got the versatility and pass rush skill to excel in several roles, stunts/twists etc.1 point

I would honestly be okay with masks becoming a permanent part of society. Reduce regular cold/flu. I'd love to see social distancing stick around, too. Things are generally too people-y.....maintain the 6' rule and people keeping distance in public. I'd be more than okay with all of that.1 point -

You mean like, how my wife and I prepaid our 2020 season tickets (and parking pass) in December 2019, then rolled forward the balance to the 2021 season? They've had close to $1,500 cash from us for close to 15 months without providing any service. I think that is more than adequate and I'm sure I'm not the only one in that boat.1 point -

No. Tsn bought the rights to the games. What they could do is a pay per view for post game press conferences, interviews and maybe something like coaches breaking down certain plays on film. Tsn owns the rights for the games but nothing else outside of the game. So they are looking at monetizing other aspects. The problem is these kinds of things cost money to produce and its unknown what the appetite would be.1 point -
