I'll give Brossy some love. Shaky start, but he rebounded nicely and even after that softie he played great. 5 / 6 pts from the Leafs and with 2 games in hand. I'll take that!4 points -

We still need a top 4 defenseman to really take a run this year imo, that and staying healthy of course. Hats off to Stastny and Perreault, 2 vets that show the kids how to play.3 points -

What everyone is forgetting is the timing of these leagues. XFL starts after the super bowl and ends a few weeks later when they run out of money (or spring). It's most likely that they are working on a player sharing agreement and sharing of marketing and development.3 points -

I was laughed at when I suggested the Jets could be the best team in the North Division by the end of the season following the PLD trade. 5 of 6 points in Toronto.3 points -
I still think this is a terrible idea all around. For reasons you all already know. I don't want to be an American league and I don't want to gamble on it working. Been a die hard since I was a little kid, I'd rather see the CFL die gracefully than have a bunch of Americans ruin it **** this idea3 points

So you'd rather vote for a party intent on taking the country backwards? I mean don't get me wrong I know all the problems with Trudeau and the Liberals but they are still a better choice than what the conservatives are offering. I have never voted liberal in my life and I don't really want to start, but the conservatives as they are now are a threat to our prosperity. Look at how well blindly voting for a conservative provincial government worked out.2 points -

If there is nothing in it for the XFL and they are essentially just a bankroll, then why would they bother? And why would they postpone their season next year pending talks with the CFL? Let’s not assume they don’t need us and have the CFL over a barrel. I suspect there is some leverage for the CFL.2 points -

Colin, I have no idea where you get some of your ideas from, honestly. The CFL is dealing with a multi billion dollar entertainment company & multi millionaires running it. These guys don't go into deals with weakness. They are the money men. THEY call the shots not Randy Ambrosie. They'll make as good a deal as they can on both sides or walk away from it. Redbird, Garcia & Johnson have a plan that they'll follow. If not, they're gone.1 point -

Sorry. I don't want the the Bombers to tap out. Maybe you want the league to die "gracefully" (whatever that means) but I don't. No one or thing ever dies gracefully. Unless you are an actor & do a death scene in a motion picture. The death of the Bombers will be sad. It will be messy. There will anger. There will be tears. There will be recrimination. There will be finger pointing looking for someone to blame. People will be upset. It won't be graceful. If you remember the Jets leaving town in 1996 just amplify that 10 or 20 times. Professional football in Winnipeg will be gone forever. I don't think people want that. I think Bomber fans will follow their team to wherever it goes.1 point -
False. Whatever it takes never said "let's take our league and TRY (emphasis on try) to make it an NFL farm league. I get that the xfl is under new ownership and there's potential there. But I've spent my LIFE cheering on the blue bombers and rooting on the Canadian games success. If it were a sure bet I'd made concessions. But if I'm going to lose my life time of memories and culture to be more "american", well that's a hill I can die on. Noeller said it best, In the cfl our team is built on pros. Selling out our tradition for "the rock" to use his social media platform. No way. I love the CFL and quarks that come with it. It's not perfect but it's mine. Not willing to compromise 100 years of passion and dedication to build our own game just to sell out for money. I know we as Canadians and more importantly CFL fans have more pride than that. The day this becomes a 4 down league becomes the day i pick an NFL team. It's unique and special to us. Find another way or tap out1 point

Either you have 1 perma set of rules for the ship game, you have an all star game and winning side gets their rules, or you alternate rules each year. Say year 1 its held in canada under CFL rules, year 2 its in the US under XFL rules. With maybe the current champs having it as an extra home game. Baseball does let teams have all kinds of whacky fields though. Oakland has a massive space out side the foul lines which drastically changes the game, some fields have ramps at the out field leading to the wall, some have massive freaking walls on one side and tiny ones on the other etc. IIRC at the end of babe ruths career kansas city? had some monstrous field they claimed to be impossible to hit a hr to dead center. Some thing like 450 feet. Personally I like alternating year to year as an option. It was but the XFL doesnt have much of any thing set in stone rn.1 point

I feel like we've just missed out on a few big FA swings. But if we had say the BC weather and night life, itd be much harder to have the blue collar, live and bleed football, team first celebrate tonight and back to work tomorrow attitude. Every player on the 2020 roster was a guy you could go to war with. Every one was going to be ready to do their best on game day. No planning the post game party on the side lines stuff. No other team in the league had that. The university of florida is where football players go to party. Alabama under Bear Bryant was where football players went to win. Its kind of like a litmus test, the guys who chose better night lifes, and weather, or slightly more money to play for other teams probably werent the right guys for us any way. Fifo. Its driven plenty of fans (like me) crazy, that we've stuck to vets with better guys on the bench or pr. Or not grabbed cfl cuts that would be an immediate upgrade for us. And its sure as hell worked for us. I think it also becomes much easier to maintain a winning franchise when you got there with work ethic and discipline than when you get there with divisive talent, low character and an egomaniac like chris jones running the show.1 point

He would go on a tour of the cities he played for, get wined an dined and settle on the best offer. He has hof talent athleticism but I feel like he still hasnt fulfilled his potential. He shown flashes of being a dynamic play maker, some one you have to plan for. But mostly I feel hes a guy the defense funnels to and makes tackles in the box. In their prime great front 7 players draw the offenses attention on every play. You have to know where WJ is lined up and what look hes showing. The great MLBers are the same, He gets in on the back end of plays and covers more ground than a lot of NI mlbers. But he doesnt reek havoc in the back field, doesnt change or attack passing lanes particularly well etc. Hes the guy who comes up with the stop, not the guy who snuffs the play out before damage is done. I feel like he can play another 5 years at the level he does now, and maybe his best seasons are still in front of him. The value of what he brings as an NI ratio breaker who is pretty sure handed with his tackling is very high. But idk if hes a HOFer.1 point -
Without Bloc still having a virtual lock on Quebec I see a similar situation to the last election happening again. Calling an election anytime soon is just a waste of tax payer dollars, so an almost certainty it will happen.1 point

Totally agree with your assessment of politics in the south west. That Liberal MP you mention (David Iftody) was actually quite effective - but that does not seem to matter. Same story up here in Selkirk Interlake. As for Trudeau being less popular, I think the NDP are losing ground and the Libs will pick up some of their lost seats. I think Con support will stay the same - rock solid in inconsequential Tory strongholds, while the Libs will win the swing ridings.1 point

I will never forget the hand made "billboard" (a bed sheet across two sticks) that was spray painted "A VOTE FOR THE LIBERALS IS A VOTE FOR THE DEVIL" that was set up at a major intersection in Winkler when I first moved there in 2006 (it was shortly after Harper's first win)... That told me everything I needed to know about Manitoba South of the Trans Can. It was a weeeeeeird year and a half down there....1 point -
