Being a hardcore gamer and following the game industry... the best case scenario for a CFL game would be an "indie" game that would rip off something like Tecmo Super Bowl. EA is never making a CFL game, they would never profit off of it.

  4. I thought he was playing well enough when he got benched. I think he'll develop into a really good player. That's the thing with Canadian OL. Mostly it takes years for them to develop. Some just get to a certain level & can't break through to the next one. Others become dominant players. I'm just glad the Bombers came to their senses in 2015/16 & abandoned the idea of an All Canadian OL.

The education review will erode some of the PC's rural support. Ridings like Gimli, Selkirk, and Interlake have gone NDP in the past - there is plenty of animosity swirling right now, as it appears that smaller schools were not even considered. And if they were, the information is not forthcoming. The whole things is looking more and more like just one huge swipe at the metro divisions and the teachers' union.

  9. One thing that a merger (or whatever it is) will do, will be to introduce alternate media coverage. I think TSN has been a good partner for the CFL; however, I do not think the exclusive relationship has produced the best possible situation. The competition in the US, over the NFL, has created better and better broadcasts and coverage. I don't think we've benefitted from that up here without competition. I think TSN could use some competition!

Capitol Police officers sue Donald Trump over injuries sustained at Jan. 6 riot As a result of the Jan.6 insurrection, two U.S. Capitol Police officers say they suffered serious physical and emotional injuries and are now suing former President Donald Trump over his role in inciting the mob of his supporters who attacked officers during the storming of the U.S. Capitol Building. Officers James Blassingame and Sidney Hemby filed the lawsuit on Tuesday arguing that Trump "inflamed, encouraged, incited, directed and aided and abetted" the insurrection. Both officers claim that they have suffered "physical and emotional injuries" as a result of the Capitol riots. Capitol Police officers sue Donald Trump over injuries sustained at Jan. 6 riot | Salon.com Joe Scarborough Slams Fox News By Airing ‘Deeply Offensive’ Clip MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough on Wednesday tore into Fox News for allowing former Trump White House trade adviser Peter Navarro to push a conspiracy theory about Dr. Anthony Fauci on the air without any pushback whatsoever. Fox News’ Rachel Campos-Duffy just smiled on Tuesday as Navarro ranted and raved about Fauci, calling the nation’s top infectious diseases expert a “sociopath” and the “father” of the coronavirus. Scarborough aired the offending segment on Wednesday’s episode of “Morning Joe.” Afterward, he said: It’s sickening that we had to play that, and I hardly ever play garbage that other networks show. But that was so offensive, deeply offensive, that they just need to be called out. “The fact that they allowed somebody without any pushback [to] call Anthony Fauci the father of the virus, talking about the communist Chinese and genetically this, that and the other from a lab that Anthony Fauci funded is just so deeply offensive,” he added. Kansas City paper slams 'loony' Missouri GOP after state rep says he's 'proud to stand against the will of the people' In Missouri, Republicans in the state legislature have rejected Medicaid expansion at a time when the medical community is still battling the deadly COVID-19 pandemic — and the Kansas City's editorial board, in a blistering editorial published on March 31, slams them for being so clueless. In 2020, Missouri residents voted in favor of Medicaid expansion. But this week, Missouri State Rep. Justin Hill, a far-right Republican, declared that he would defy the will of Missouri's voters for their own good. "Even though my constituents voted for this lie," Hill told fellow lawmakers, "I'm going to protect them. I am proud to stand against the will of the people." The Kansas City Star's editorial board slams Hill for that remark but argues that he is hardly the only clueless Republican in the Missouri State Legislature when it comes to Medicaid expansion. "The competition for the looniest argument against expanding Medicaid in Missouri was stiff Tuesday, but state Rep. Justin Hill, a Republican, took the prize," the Star's editorial board argues. "Hill, from Lake St. Louis, wandered away from the outer edges of sanity some time ago. He skipped his own swearing-in to attend the insurrectionist rally in Washington, D.C., on January 6. He has repeatedly questioned the results of the 2020 presidential election…. Tuesday, during the House debate on Medicaid expansion, Hill slapped his voters in the face." That would require him to have a moral compass, which he has never had. Apparently he an Ted Cruz are in a dead heat for the most disliked republican -by the rest of the GOP. There is jubilation in the GOP that Gaetz has self-destructed. Another of Trump's mindless thralls come to a bad end. Flies are always drawn to manure.

    2021 CFL Entry Draft

that's kinda where I was coming from in saying that the jury is still very much out on Gray.... we've had others that showed more, faster. Now, having said that, I certainly understand that OL usually take longer and you don't wanna rush a guy. We've always said that Gray LOOKED the part of a "Young Walby", and we all know that Walby took a long time to develop, as well, but ended up playing a very long time. So, if we're patient, hopefully DG can develop into a long time stud as CW did...

  26. The only way to stop these deals is to completely disallow them & go to restricted free agency. The league is going down because the owners & players are ******* morons. Take care of your fans first. Make them feel engaged again & let them get to know their players like they used to. Stop trying to please some hot shot rookie running back from Arkansas who has NFL dreams only. **** him if he doesn't want to sign a two or 3 year deal. And **** players like Henoc Muamba that could care less if they play on a winner or a loser as long as they get the money they want. Guys like Adam Bighill sacrificed while Muamba wants more. The CFL can continue to be run badly or make painful & hard decisions on player movements. If the players don't like it then they can retire. That's my take anyway.

  27. I think the yearly option window for veterans is fair. So if a CFL vet is on a 3 year deal and after 1 year has an NFL team willing to sign them, not a tc invite but a deal, they should be free to go. But then have the remainder of their CFL deal converted to option years. So for the next 2 years they would come back to the same team if they return, but then the deal would be 1 year here then a FA again. I think in the last CBA some thing along those lines was talked about. It sucks to lose stars, but every time a guy goes from the cfl to the nfl the door for young americans coming to the cfl opens wider. Itd be nice if that included a buy out bonus for the cfl team paid by the nfl team too. Same as happens in un affiliated baseball. Cant blame them at all for wanting to be closer to home, pay less taxes and make more money. Not to mention the NFL pension is nothing to sneeze at.

Interesting poll. I don't think it would play out with an NDP majority. In fact, I still think the PCs would take the majority; however, it shows how much the PCs have fallen. I don't think it particularly means that NDP have risen but, rather, are benefitting from the PCs fall.

Lots of good info in the MB Gov presser this morning, regarding the wait times at the convention centre, etc..... basically, "we're working on it...". They had some "casual" staff working who really didn't know what was going on, and that caused a lot of problems. They've now hired contract term staff who are there for realz and things should move a lot smoother now. I think it goes without saying, this is new for everyone...there's gonna be bugs to work out...but they'll get it figured.

  38. The mystery is not what happened. The mystery is why. The story is much more than “plane went down, they are all dead, the end”.

  39. To my understanding, players negotiated the one-year contract into the last CBA. It replaced the NFL release window they had and allowed the owners to keep the “non-guaranteed contracts” which they really wanted. Given the choice between not locking in players long term and having to pay overpriced vets for an entire year instead of cutting them loose before Labour Day and getting to walk away from a bad contract scot-free, owners chose to keep the money-saving option.
