  2. Naylor's article is another in a long line of stringing a bunch of 'what ifs' together then ending it with a conclusion. It's weak. Maybe it's right. Maybe it's wrong. It's the kind of thing that most of us could write. Nothing has worked in Toronto for the last 30 years. That's the number 1 problem and an XFL merger won't fix it. We need 6 Bob Young's and David Braley's. They don't exist. The Pandemic is a huge problem that will eventually go away. Of course companies that own CFL teams want to make money. That's their whole reason for being. The CFL ignored young folks for generations. They can't be surprised that younger folks follow NFL instead of CFL football. None of the above is fixed by an XFL merger. If it's doesn't fix anything then different is just different, it's not better.

  3. TSN has a financial incentive for the CFL and XFL to merge. You can bet they'll continue to push the narrative that nothing can work.

    Covid-19

The same fear that there is about other vaccines. The anti - Vax movement has influenced a significant portion of the population.

For those choosing not to get the vaccine shot....good luck with that. Like 2 to 3 times a year, good luck with that.

Or we can't have family over (in Alberta) yet churches can ignore health restrictions for gatherings indoor & nothing happens.

    Covid-19

There is a segment of the population that delves into the conspiracies. But most people are just frustrated with the inconsistency of the regulations. If own a restaurant, you better get every little thing right, or you will be closed. If you run a Big Box that sells groceries, you can stay open no matter what. People working in ICUs are commenting on the high number of travel related cases. Curbing that should be a bigger priority than shutting things down at home.

    Covid-19

One thing I know about pandemics. Don't rely on trends as things change fast. You don't know what variants will mutate into in the months to come. I finally got my Pfizer Covid 19 vaccine Thursday, The clinic was in the old Greyhound Bus Station in downtown Calgary. No lineups. Didn't have to wait.

    2021 CFL Entry Draft

    I don't get it.....?

  16. It's definitely very interesting. We (those markets) are the lifeblood of the league, and if the day ever came where it was only those teams (and Calgary) I'd still follow it and care as much.

    Covid-19

I'm not an epidemiologist but it seems to me the more people that are vaccinated the less people available to be infected & the virus will continue to mutate & infecting people who are not vaccinated. .

    2021 CFL Entry Draft

The hiccup this last season has hurt his stock a good bit, but I see him being a real dark horse pick that rises a lot closer to the draft. I just think he's too well rounded a package to end up here. HIs productivity, his athleticism, his size he's got the stuff that can keep him on rosters for a good while.

  19. Im glad they are calling it out. Tbh the entire sum of my exposure to twitter is what ever i might see on the corner ticker on this site so I kinda miss a lot of stuff like that.

  20. Isn't it ironic that the 3 community owned teams will weather this pandemic than the rich, well heeled owners in CFL's biggest markets?

    2021 Season

The old 2K football games were legendary. They got too good so EA bought exclusive rights. I've read decent things about the Axis Football series, but haven't played it. Kind of fits the whole indie angle that I think would be good. Maybe they have a CFL mod or could get licensing eventually. Could be good for both sides.

Lol. You guys are killing me here. I am now expecting the Jets to lay a beating on TO.

  23. I really feel like Naylor has been a typical Toronto attitude throughout this. Very "nobody cares about the CFL, so we have to do this in order to make people care", except that it's really a Toronto-only attitude. I saw a thing from Duthie this morning talking about how there's really two modes of thinking about the potential merger: The Toronto view, and Everyone Else....

  25. And this is just the perfect article to put out there right after your colleague calls you out for insufficient reporting. This says....exactly what everyone already knew. Congrats on wasting everyones time Naylor. BREAKING NEWS!!! CFL IN FINANCIAL HARDSHIPS. CHANGES NEED TO HAPPEN OR IT WON'T SURVIVE!! There...TSN hire me.

    Game 38 : Toronto

Toronto media has been on overdrive today trying to figure out how the Laffs match up against the other divisions now that they've eliminated the Jets and won the North.

  29. The part I always enjoy is when they have former coaches on providing their analysis of the game at hand. I really liked when they had on Lapo and Benevides going at each other from an offensive and defensive perspective and how they would try to counter each other using the specifics of the game to argue what adjustments need to happen. Very entertaining imo.

    Covid-19

Unfortunately, that's what has to happen for younger people to finally get scared & pay attention. Since January 2020, Covid was thought of as an "old person" disease. Anyone over 60-65. So, young people ignored health orders to keep everyone safe. They figured they'd never get sick & die. Well, guess what??
