The most vulnerable already have shots, the rest of us are as in need as anyone. Honestly I think it is time to shift the focus away from age groups and get the people out in public their shots. You want schools and businesses and restaurants open you better vaccinate the people working in those places.7 points

Wife and I just got the shot. I am ecstatic. Astrazeneca from local Pharmacy. The dude at Regent Park Pharmacy was awesome. He walked us through everything, assuaged my Wife's and my own concerns. Told us what to expect and what to watch out for. Darrel is awesome!6 points -

Let's hope so. We have (had) 55,000 AZ vaccines in freezers in Manitoba not being used. Now, they're going to be scooped up very fast. I have a bit of anxiety about skipping in front of some that need it more than I do but the Gov't is enacting a plan to get doses to those communities. I couldn't believe social media yesterday among my peers. It was like Xmas. Some were sharing pics and others were sharing that they had upcoming appointments. It felt good. I sent a message to a co-worker that it was available and she made an appointment for her and her husband. They were giddy.5 points -

None. Glad to see you booked one. I believe it was the opposite. Oxford university conducted studies on all ages and in England had a higher proportion of elderly in their studies. As has been said just about all have near 100% efficacy against severe illness or death. Give me whatever jab I can get as soon as I can get it. That is AZ on Monday.5 points -

From what I have read, it works well against The UK variant and the P1 variant in terms of transmissibility and mild to severe symptoms. The south African variant is where things get dicey. it has a 10,9 % efficacy in preventing mild to moderate symptoms. The good news is, so far it has a track record of 100% efficacy against SEVERE symptoms. ANd that is kind of what we want to do... take the shot so we don't die. Sure there are concerns, but the benefits FAR outweigh the miniscule chance of clots. https://www.bbc.com/news/explainers-56665396 Handy little chart here: Here are few more articles: https://www.pharmaceutical-technology.com/news/astrazeneca-covid-vaccine-blood-clot/ https://www.ema.europa.eu/en/news/covid-19-vaccine-astrazeneca-benefits-still-outweigh-risks-despite-possible-link-rare-blood-clots2 points -

We're finally moving in that direction too. https://atlantic.ctvnews.ca/nova-scotia-organ-donation-presumed-consent-law-takes-effect-1.5271098?cache=ngyhfzxv%3FcontactForm%3Dtrue%3FclipId%3D104062 Nova Scotia organ donation presumed consent law takes effect Nova Scotians who don’t choose to opt out of donating their organs and tissue will be considered as having agreed to be a donor after death. Nova Scotia became the first province or state in North America to pass such legislation when the act was passed unanimously in April 2019. Now, we need our gov't to do that too.2 points

Former Minnesota police officer Derek Chauvin has been found guilty on three counts of murder and one count of manslaughter in the May 25, 2020 death of George Floyd, a 46-year-old Black man who was handcuffed by police on suspicion of passing a counterfeit $20 bill. Chauvin then proceeded to pin Floyd onto the pavement, with his knee on Floyd's neck, for a full 9 minutes and 29 seconds. salon1 point -

They should have Mobile units with the vaccines that only require refrigeration. Get the shots TO the schools and have a quick morning/afternoon vaccine session. Teachers NEED to be vaccinated before the transmission in classrooms becomes a huge problem because of the variant.1 point -

Just saw this at the bottom of the Eligibility Criteria website: Medical Clinics and Pharmacies The AstraZeneca/COVISHIELD vaccine is used to provide COVID-19 vaccines in doctors’ offices and pharmacies. Manitoba public health officials have developed guidance for the use of the AstraZeneca/Covishield vaccine. If you are a senior or have mobility issues and need help getting to your appointment at a clinic or pharmacy, call 211 for available transportation options in your area. Eligibility Criteria Effective April 19, 2021 - all Manitobans aged 40 and over will be eligible to receive the AstraZeneca/Covishield vaccine at a medical clinic or pharmacy. Eligible Manitobans can find their nearest clinic or pharmacy with available doses by visiting: manitoba.ca/covid19/vaccine/finder.html1 point

I got the active 2. it. I got a used one of kijiji for like 125 i think? it's a hidden feature, but I actually enabled it to measure blood pressure. There's youtube videos on how to do it. In korea it's approved but in NA the blood pressure monitor is not FDA approved so it doesn't come pre-installed. waterproof, tracking workouts, walks, bpm all work well. phone functions well worth every penny1 point -
