  1. Over ask doesn’t mean anything. Realtors are intentionally listing houses for under market value to encourage bidding wars.

  2. I wonder if they're finally going to put Wolitarsky inside. I think he, Demski and Lawler inside and Adams, Meredith outside would be the best use of our WR talent.

  3. Sounds like Lawler has been an absolute beast so far in camp. The combinations of Buck as OC, Collaros being more of a gun slinger than Nichols, and Harris being essentially two years older, i think we see quite a bit more emphasis on the passing game this season. Bold prediction: Lawler 1000+ yards receiving(keep in mind only 14 games this year).

  4. I think we see 5 guys with 5 sacks or more at the half way mark. Kongbo is gonna be hard to take off the field this year.

Yeah, going to the game is a tough one, and will feel very strange. I'm going to be there, and I will wear my mask for the whole thing, whether it is required or not.

  11. https://www.bluebombers.com/2021/07/16/quick-hits-tc-july-16-2021/ some good stuff, as always, from Our Man Tait....and just a quick teaser for you: 1. MORE MUSCLE?!?!: It’s in Jonathan Kongbo’s DNA to work hard. As evidence you may recall that back in his days at the University of Tennessee he won the 2018 John Stucky award as Volunteers’ best performer in the weight room. And so when the Blue Bombers defensive end arrived in Winnipeg in 2019 as a first-round draft pick he was already carved in stone at 6-5, 255 pounds. Now back with the club after spending the summer of 2020 in the training camp of the San Francisco 49ers and a short stint this year in The Spring League, Kongbo has added another 15 pounds to his already-chiselled frame.

    Around The NHL 2021/22

I guess Montreal’s GM figures the surprise Cup run has bought him some goodwill with the fans, because they are playing some dangerous games with the expansion draft. First they announce a “career threatening injury” for Shea Weber (who funnily enough looked healthy throughout the playoffs) and leave him unprotected, which many experts figure is a phoney statement to protect Chariot, Edmundson, and Petry on defence and scare Seattle away from risking the Weber pick. The league actually said they are watching closely to see if any monkey business occurs. Now they hear that Seattle will take Jake Allen so they expose Carey Price figuring the high salary will scare off Seattle once again. My hope is that they grab Price and call Montreal’s bluff. The fans would lose it, and at worst Seattle has a rock solid goalie in the Mark Andra Fleury vein, or they go back to Montreal and negotiate a trade with them so return the Habs saviour this past decade to them. All this to say those who complain that Chevy made no moves forget how Vegas burned so many teams last time. Take your lumps, lose one player and move on. Appleton or DeMelo are not the difference between winning a Stanley Cup and missing the playoffs.

  14. I think the housing market in Winnipeg broke in 2002, 2003... the mortgage rates took a complete nose dive after 9/11 and everyone that could, got into the market. Houses doubled in price over the next couple of years. That was the era where affordable housing died.

wait they're not protecting poolman?! Okay Perreault I kind of understand I'm anticipating his departure (even though I'm hoping it doesn't happen) one of my predictions (on twitter) was correct that Benn wouldn't be protected (I think it's time we had a separate thread for the expansion draft) I th

  20. 15lbs of lean mass for a long time gym rat is pretty huge. He probably wouldn't have seen such gains if it wasn't for the lost year. But it could be gigantic for him. And give him a better ability to rotate inside and twist more. Kongbo is a really special talent. To have his size athleticism pedigree motivation and the ni status is a once in a generation thing up here. He and hansen are poised to have monstrous production even in lower reps then many guys in the league will see. I think we will not only have the best 4 man pressure in the league but some of the best 4 man pressure in years.

  21. Thank you so much. A friend sent me this video today, and I never appreciated it more than I do now. I've lived here a long time and we've never had something this tragic happen in Kelowna, as long as I've been here anyway. We are definitely hurting as a city but we'll get through it. Glad to hear that your nephew is ok. If he ever wants to watch a Bomber game with me, I would welcome the company! Thanks all.

  24. Problem is for every goal he scores he gives one up due to his putrid defensive play. It sounds like the guy just wants to float around center ice and get fed one timers on the PP.

  25. I echo that. Was not aware of the incident until I saw the post, and I have a nephew out in Kelowna so there were a few nervous moments until I heard more details. Glad you are OK physically KBF, and I hope you are recovering from the shock. In our thoughts. Take care.

  26. Your map and info is correct. I've been involved in farming all my life ( 63 years old ) and still am albeit in an alternative way. I just had a discussion with my neighbor who is the same age and we both agree we have never seen it like this before. There was zero runoff this year due to a lack of snow. I don't ever remember that. We have had 2 significant rains this year . The city of Morden which gets it's water from Lake Minniwasta is runnining out of water and desperately trying to pipe in Red river water. Its a really ugly situation. And yet , the draining of sloughs and wet lands, tile draining , the removal of trees and bush , the removal of old shelter belts, continues at a frantic pace. If farmers can't get a permit to do this they just ignore the rules and do it anyway. The only time there are issues are if it directly effects a neighbor and causes friction. The fines for doing this illegally are an absolute joke. Its hundreds of dollars where as the land cleared or drained can be worth 5 to 10,000 an acre. The permits to do it legally are often affected by who you know or who you are. The extent ? I could easily come up with 20 examples of drained wetlands or bushes removed in the last couple of years within a 15 minute drive from my place on the escarpment. There is very little movement to stop this. There's not alot of push from those of us living out here to stop it. And frankly those in the city have no clue that's it's happening right on their doorstep or that it's even going on at all. Once a bush or wetland is gone, there is no evidence it was there. As far as tile draining it's really hard to see unless you know what to look for.
