  1. I ran the numbers a couple seasons ago and the average CFL team will game roster 10-12 different receivers in the course of a season and the most snakebit teams -- like Calgary in 2019 -- will have to roster 15-16. Receivers get hurt a lot, those little guys are vulnerable out there, and it doesn't take much of a knick to turn a 4.3 burner into a plodder or to screw up their hands. So it seems like having up close knowledge of your first wave of emergency signings is ... prudent. No matter how much you like your top receivers, you're never going to get sixteen games out of all of them. (one of the things I will always remember about Terrance Edwards is how he looked so slim out there compared to everyone else on the field, and because he was our only pro-quality receiver for a long stretch, we'd have him run tough possession routes into the middle and he would just get creamed over and over. Guy kept getting back up and his play never flagged. Big respect. Hope he's okay these days) that Grey Cup was such a complete win. for all people piss and moan about Lapo, he called a masterful game and Hamilton had no answer. Just look at the blocking scheme on Harris' first TD, it was drawn up absolutely perfectly with Bailey pancaking the Hamilton DE and springing 33 all the way to the endzone untouched.

  3. Have you seen the projected Riders starting OL? Cripes. Vaughn who is still in a knee brace, rookie Logan Ferland, Dan Clark, Evan Johnson and Brett Boyko at the other tackle. So a guy who should not be playing RT, a C whose lousy, a rookie Canadian guard, a beat up LT and a solid guard.

    Lock of the Week

Alrighty with the preseason done and the regular season only a few short days away its time to start the Lock of the Week contest. Rules are pretty simple. 1. Every week you must pick a player that will score a touchdown. Passing touchdowns don't count. Receiving, rushing, return (interception, fumble, punt and kick) count as a TD 2. There is no limit to the amount you can pick a player. If you want to pick Darvin Adams every week than you can. 3. If you fail to correctly pick then you acquire a strike. If you correctly pick you do not pick up a strike. 4. If you miss making a pick for the week you will acquire a strike. 5. All picks must be made before kickoff of the team that your selected player is playing in. 6. 5 strikes and you are out of the game. 7. Last one remaining or the one with the least strikes at the end of the year wins. 8. In the highly unlikelihood that players are tied at the end of the year - the winner will be the player who has selected the most different players thought the year. Prize for winner is $50 Bomber Store Gift Card Place your picks for week one below.

  5. So here is the debate question... are they weaker or just more unknown since we've had 2 draft classes that no one has seen st all? I ain't gonna pretend to know what's what with the depth after not seeing a cfl game for damn near 2 years. **** gonna be different yo.

  6. I don't see Taylor going anywhere. Guy is a physical freak. I also think you either underrate how good Kyrie is, or think Roquemore is unique talent. Regardless I think our team has maybe the most talent this year than in the last 5. Excited for Thursday

  7. I could see Nick Taylor as the odd man out, he’s 33 and really never been a full time player anywhere. Played great for us last year, but he also really only played what, 6 games? I expected Nichols to make the starting lineup, he’ll probably end up as our best DB before long. Alford is a bit of a surprise considering he’s so young and inexperienced, but I wouldn’t mind seeing him take a spot over Taylor if he’s earned it. I’m assuming based on what our roster still looks like that we’re waiting to see what the health of Darvin, Kyrie, Nelson and a few others looks like. See how quick Darby can get up to speed as well. I assumed all along that Josh Johnson would end up at SAM, so that’s still my guess. I have a feeling Kyrie might still be getting pushed by Rocquemore as well, so maybe a week in practice hashes that one out.

    Covid-19

To be totally honest, I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner. I would say they are rolling the dice, and hoping there won't be too many problems with pockets of unvaccinated people. They need to tell us if any of the vaccinated people had severe outcomes. And if they won't give that information, then all they're doing is providing fodder for the anti-vaxxers.

    Covid-19

Honestly, I think AB was just the first to do it and it'll get copied by everyone in short order, especially the fiscal Conservative governments that want to save money by cutting a lot of the COVID related costs. We're just gonna have to get used to it. Take our own precautions... Keep your mask on... Keep distancing. Do everything right, even tho it's not mandated.

    2021 Week 1 Pick 'Ems

It has been an extra long off season but CFL football is back for the 2021 edition! Pick 'Ems are also back with the winner taking home a $50 Blue Bomber gift certificate. How do they work? Each week you pick the winners for each CFL game. You get one point for every correct pick. Whoever has the most points at the end of the year wins! Picks will be done through the polling system. Polls close at game start of the first game of the week. I will accept picks for games that have not started yet through PMs if you are late getting them in. Week 1 kicks off with a Grey Cup rematch featuring the Tiger-Cats @ your very own Blue Bombers on Thursday at 7:30 PM. Get your picks in by then!

  16. I don't think they've said but I've never seen a Dline beat the piss out of an Oline like they did to Hamilton last year physically. I heard noises from our our Dline that sounded like primal blood lust in that game. They will remember that I don't get the Nelson love. Guy never gets into games

book titled "none is too many" is about that subject. yeah you are right "The authors identify Frederick Blair, the head of immigration in William Lyon Mackenzie King's government, as a top official who opposed and limited Jewish immigration. They say that Blair's policy had the full support of Mackenzie King, who was prime minister 1935–48, Vincent Massey, the high commissioner to Britain,[3] and both Anglophone and Francophone elites in general." sadly people have been hating and killing Jews for a very long time. reading a book about the sectarian division between the Jews, and the Jewish sect that became Christianity. very interesting since I know nothing about it. Re supplying arms. At one point the Americans weren't allowed to sell planes and fly them to Canada for shipping. So the planes were flown to the border, landed, pushed across, then flown the rest of the way. The Nazi movement / support was pretty strong in the USA. Less so in Canada but every country had it's closet fascists. The communist movement in on Canada was far stronger than fascism. A reported 10,000 turned out to support communist leader Tim Buck when he was released from being arrested.

There was also plenty of Nazi support in Canada. MacKenzie King was an anti - Semitic who actually spoke well of Hitler. When it came to accepting Jewish refugees, the King and his immigration minister made sure there was plenty of red tape.

  26. Hey folks, I didn’t read this entire string but I can give you some updated info. Not all tickets have barcodes this year! So if your ticket appears in your wallet, or if you’re not sure but you see your ticket on your smartphone with seat location but no barcode, the scanners actually have a function now where you can essentially “tap” like a debit or credit card with a chip! It’s brilliant and really helps! As for those with no phone or dead/forgotten phone, printed tickets can be accommodated but you will need ID and a contact number for public health reasons. The box office will look up and confirm your ticket, check your ID and provide you with a wristband and a paper ticket for entry. Lastly, DO NOT TAKE SCREENSHOTS OF YOUR BARCODES!! This is very different this year, barcodes revolve every 15 seconds and so a screenshot will be invalid very quickly. If you do not have mobile data on your phone, Wifi should be functional at the gates but could be overwhelmed by the crowd and the scanners so, if you have the option to add them to your wallet ahead of time, please do as they will then be accessible offline. Take care everyone and I so look forward to all of us in the stands 💙💛💙💛💙

I don’t understand why people are so confused about the Toronto roster and how they afford it. They’ve got their money allocated in strange ways, but it’s pretty easy to see how they afford things. Their OL is pretty underwhelming and they’re not paying 200k to a running back. They’re going to be an interesting team to watch, but they’ve got all kinds of question marks and their money is so poorly allocated. No protection whatsoever for Arbuckle, but sure have fun with your 38 different star linebackers.

  28. Could be darby either not starting or used as DI. He was traded for half way through camp and missed some time after he did arrive. They added him half way through last month. Wouldve been in camp with the RBs last year if it wasnt for covid. https://redblackshome.wordpress.com/2019/12/23/new-redblacks-receiver-james-tyrell-a-competitor-going-into-new-opportunity/ at the eastern combine his results were 5'11 185, 4.79 40, 32.5" vert, 10'3.5 broad jump, 4.4 shuttle and 8 reps of 225.

  29. My favorite was one time i remember we were playing Edmonton and he was "covering" a receiver, and as usual was in the trail position by a good 5-10 yards. The QB launches the deep ball but it gets caught up in the wind and its going to be short. The receiver slows down but then trips, and the ball hits him in the back and goes incomplete. Double D runs up beside him jumping up and down doing the incomplete pass arm signal over and over again lol. Lol, like you had anything to do with that Double D.

  41. It's the heat that we all notice but the thing that is really going to punch us in the guts is water. You are already seeing that in communities like Morden. More and more out here have or are going to link into the Pembina water line which gets it's water from the Red River. Already they are concerned about the level of their intakes. It's also an issue with both rural community and private wells. And as you say, this is just the start. Edit :Hey it takes some real talent To do that 2x

From my readings Roosevelt was trying to get them in as he recognized the dangers of the fascist movement. But he had little support until Pearl Harbor. There is even a conspiracy theory that Roosevelt and his inner circle knew it was coming and let it happen so there would not be any resistance to entering the war. I doubt it has any credence. But none the less Roosevelt was pushing to enter the conflict.
