Same line that gave up 3 sacks in the West Final and failed to get it into the end zone on eight different attempts from inside the Winnipeg 10 in the 4th quarter. Those are facts too.6 points -

Today’s Bomber group includes a current builder, a current coach, a guy who may or may not be using his “slave name” right now, a current Grey Cup champion, and most importantly, a current fan 😁, all displaying various uniform styles.4 points -
Eh the rust factor is real. They both haven't played since the Grey Cup and had limited reps in tc. We have a new oc too. I don't think those guys will start this week. Even if they are 100 percent healthy they won't have reps or have shaken off the rust.3 points

Related to game 1. Apparently Posey is a long shot to play and Bralon Addison is also a medical game time decision. Would be nice not to have to deal with Addison when half our secondary is new3 points

Can you link it I didn't see this. I think our running game with this ol is gonna be good even when Harris misses. But the blocking and catching I worry about. I hope we see a bit more of demski running the ball too.2 points -

The riders OL last season was not good. If it was good fajardo wouldn't have been running for his life like he was. Riders are going to miss their OC the most. He knew his teams weaknesses and played around them, ie move the pocket and throw quick short passes, don't let your qb be murdered. Jason Maas I don't think has that mentality. Jesus Sprinkles is gonna get crippled at some point this year.2 points

It is true there are areas that have relied on irrigation . It's true we have suffered drought before .BUT there is no denying that we just had the hottest July on record. We are breaking records that have been kept since the late 1800s. And it's a more world wide phenomenon than previously. There are misconceptions about the 1930s. It's not that it didn't rain for 10 years .Most farmers still planted crops but only to see them wither and die over the summer.Although the Palliser Triangle was extremely dry. Yes the drought was horrendous but it was the combination of drought, economic collapse, extremely low commodity prices , a lack of government support and the fact that it went on for 10 years that brought the west to its knees. I suggest if anyone is interested read The Great Deppresion by Pierre Berton or The 10 Lost Years by Barry Broadfoot ( a collection of interviews of those who lived it )2 points -

It has been an extra long off season but CFL football is back for the 2021 edition! Pick 'Ems are also back with the winner taking home a $50 Blue Bomber gift certificate. How do they work? Each week you pick the winners for each CFL game. You get one point for every correct pick. Whoever has the most points at the end of the year wins! Picks will be done through the polling system. Polls close at game start of the first game of the week. I will accept picks for games that have not started yet through PMs if you are late getting them in. Week 1 kicks off with a Grey Cup rematch featuring the Tiger-Cats @ your very own Blue Bombers on Thursday at 7:30 PM. Get your picks in by then!2 points

If Wilson will be out, obviously Rocquemore will start at WIL. Antigha might be seeing some snaps there as he's the only one make sense to backup there. DT Sayles might be in to rotate in the middle of the the DL. This might help https://www.tusculumpioneers.com/sports/fball/2019-20/bios/alford_dee_ir5h1 point -
I'm actually really excited for Nelson. I think he's going to be on the roster even if he's not the primary returner. I kind of forgot that he can play defense and do kick coverage and everything. Having that versatility is very nice1 point

Ive read up a bit on Nichols. He's bounced around the NFL and was impressive in the XFL, but im really intrigued by DeAundre Alford. I can literally find nothing on him in the google machine. I wonder where they found him. Impressive that at 23 he was able to beat out the other 4526 DB's in camp, some much older and with seemingly more experience.1 point -

I think we will see one back soon ish. But I'm worried about Harris. I think this is an awful decision for them. I get the feeling that who ever loses is gonna turn it into the excuse bowl for their lose. And I don't think it's gonna be us.1 point

I have a hunch we will see neither this week, and at least one of them will not be back for game 2 either. Just a gut feeling, no intel to base it on.1 point -
And I would take a tapered off Stanley Bryant, over a LONG LIST of other OL.1 point
-
Well...more or less... Seriously though, I would say there's nothing wrong with getting another season or two out of an effective player who's older, especially a shut down OL. Stanley Bryant is an example. Back in the day, we got another good year out of Andrew Greene.1 point

I mean. Optics aren't great for Harris and Adams being out for the first practice. But truth be told neither need to practice and could still be a game time decision. No doubt in my mind O'Shea will say as much1 point

current drought in the s.w. us is much worse than that of the thirties, and is probably permanent. usa today 2020 "Fueled in part by human-caused climate change, a “megadrought” appears to be emerging in the western U.S., a study published Thursday suggests. In fact, the nearly-20-year drought is almost as bad or worse than any in the past 1,200 years, scientists say. Megadroughts – defined as intense droughts that last for decades or longer – once plagued the Desert Southwest. Thanks to global warming, an especially fierce one appears to be coming back: "We now have enough observations of current drought and tree-ring records of past drought to say that we're on the same trajectory as the worst prehistoric droughts," said study lead author A. Park Williams, a bioclimatologist at Columbia University, in a statement. This is “a drought bigger than what modern society has seen." This year is worse. you can chuck out all the past experiences, this is all new. like beating (lytton) a heat record by seven degrees. never happened since meterological record keeping began. anywhere. the general prediction, is extremes, worse drought, worse floods, and less sweet spot, moderate. the scientists been accurate on everything.... if anything, conservative.1 point -

blue_gold_84 reacted to Mark H. for a topic
To be totally honest, I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner. I would say they are rolling the dice, and hoping there won't be too many problems with pockets of unvaccinated people. They need to tell us if any of the vaccinated people had severe outcomes. And if they won't give that information, then all they're doing is providing fodder for the anti-vaxxers.1 point -

no surprises that Toronto is allowed to do whatever the hell they want. There's been shenanigans for years to try and keep them afloat by gifting them a winner. You will NEVER convince me that the Ricky Ray trade wasn't rigged to gift them a championship and hopefully bring fans back. Complete horseshit.1 point -

Introduce Yourself
Mark F reacted to Adrenaline_x for a topic
I’ve been away since novemeber 2019 so I thought I would reintroduce myself. I have lived in Winnipeg for all my life outside of 9 months in Edmonton before age 4 I have loved cfl football since as far back as I can remember and have been more passionate about them since the jets left. I’m not nearly as attached to the jets or watch their games. I haven’t missed listening or watching to a bomber game in years. I have zero interest in the nfl and find the games slow and boring. Even the super bowl which I will watch while doing something else. I work in It infrastructure and now cyber security for a very large international company in Winnipeg and I’m opinionated, confident (overly?) and can be an *******. I can hate what you are saying and disagree with you but it won’t really effect how I feel about you. I can hate one post and fight with you and laugh and support something else you say. anyhow. I’m back1 point
