No one talked about him but Brandon Alexander is the glue that holds that whole secondary together. Can play any position in it at a high level. Also Nick Taylor had a fantastic game too.

  6. I’d offer up the same sentiment for the LaPo bashers. Both used their skill sets to drag us out of the 2013 doldrums and helped us achieve our first Grey Cup in 29 years. That alone should earn them both a lifetime pass on these boards.

  7. when Matt was on...he carried us, and was main piece that got us to where we are today, that can't be disputed, and he had the right cast of characters surrounding him, so that helped too. Watching him this weekend though, the Staff here made the right choice...he's a sitting duck in the pocket now, don't think he trusts his arm...if he even will have one ever again, and I wouldn't even want him as a back-up..I think he is done like dinner. And it's too bad, but at lesast we got him a ring as he truly deserved one for all he put into the team and community here Lapo tho is in a tuff place...not sure if he will be successful anytime soon https://3downnation.com/2021/08/08/i-guess-im-not-a-big-enough-name-yet-to-get-that-call-cody-fajardo-jokes-about-unpenalized-helmet-to-helmet-hit/ what A ******

I dunno...I was thoroughly entertained by "who's going to actually win this insane contest??" It wasn't well played football by any means, but it was entertaining from a certain viewpoint...

If you think about, what they're doing with DBs makes sense: 1. The really good ones that make the NFL - they can get one or two good years out of them - without having to pay big $$ 2. They get hurt more than other positions - so they have a solid reserve of guys who can step in

  12. Watch the first part of the 2019 season. Nichols was on and had a good arm with accurate balls, even deep balls. That's not the memory I had of him. I remember him as being decent with the short passes and playing ball control offense. The start of the 2019 season showed he had legit skills. Hopefully he can overcome the shoulder injury as he is just a shell of where he was at his best.

  18. Until his injury in 2019, he was the best QB in the league. He was outstanding. Dropping balls everywhere they needed to be, he was running, he was doing it all. His QB efficiency was off the charts. Then he gets pancaked from behind and, it would appear, he hasn't been the same since...

I thought T.O looked better than most, but our Lines will handle theirs easily, and I see Brady getting huge gobs of yards on them, and then Zack exploiting things...plus that tatse of how we effed up there last year is prob in the mouths and minds of the vets here still..I bet they lay a whooping

That new corner looks pretty good too. He did give up that touchdown but honestly his coverage on the play was pretty solid. Just maybe mistimed his jump a little bit but I think he's a keeper.

When Harris gets back you can run him as tailback, go spilt backs with Brady O.......or try some of them hybrid formations with Harris, Oliveria, and Demski in the backfield Hell of a lot of options back there.....

  33. I think most trolls start out the same way. They take a simple contrarian viewpoint that is objectively arguable, but in an effort to bolster their credibility they push the argument to outrageous extremes and provide a bloated “resume” of sorts to make them sound more qualified in their position. So “the voice is the big thing for broadcasters” turns into “I have connections at HNIC” and “I know most major broadcasters in the US and am privy to their inside reputation rankings, so I have professional backing for my unassailable point of view” In the same vein, “20 years in virology lab” and “worked in New York on COVID in secret” are self-aggrandizing claims meant to portray a sense of intelligence and authority. Failing that, he falls back on “I don’t just know a guy, I know THE guy” so his Harris injury update is painted as direct insider knowledge cuz he lives next to the guy, don’t you know. None of the claims are directly irrefutable, but taken all together it strains reasonableness, and that is where a simple cross exam of the claims shows the cracks (20 players came to my house to party without masks despite the CFL team COVID mandates, I worked in New York for 4 months at the height of the pandemic that closed our border with the US, I have free streaming because I can hack into the live feeds of the major US networks). The cross-exam can be kind of fun if you have the time and patience for it, and don’t get side-tracked by them waving something shiny at you to distract. Was the same with the “Mike Kelly training camp insider” who went from seeing good players, to “I know what make a good player because of my long time coaching knowledge, let me dazzle you with terminology”.

  34. You gotta actually post the link, man..... ha ha ha. 1. Winnipeg Blue Bombers (3) Winnipeg rockets to the No. 1 spot after dominating the Tiger-Cats along the line of scrimmage just like they did in the 2019 Grey Cup. The defence held Hamilton to just six points, while Brady Oliveira rushed for 126 yards in his first career start in place of an injured Andrew Harris. 2. Hamilton Tiger-Cats (1) Hamilton started strong in Winnipeg with Jeremiah Masoli leading a game-opening 89-yard touchdown drive. The offence fizzled out after that as the unit failed to establish the run and turned the ball over twice with interceptions to Willie Jefferson and Jontrell Rocquemore. 3. Toronto Argonauts (8) The Argos leap up five spots after outperforming Calgary at McMahon Stadium in Week 1, which isn’t easy to do. They face another tough test this week when they travel to Winnipeg for a date with the Blue Bombers, but make no mistake — this team looked a lot better than most people predicted heading into the season 4. Saskatchewan Roughriders (5) The Green and White got out to a remarkable 31-0 lead in the second quarter against B.C. but failed to put the game away until A.C. Leonard picked off Nathan Rourke with less than a minute to play. Who are the real Riders: the dominant team that owned the first half or the passive bunch that slept through the second half? 5. Calgary Stampeders (2) That strange sound you’re hearing is the Stamps plummeting into the middle spot of our power rankings after coughing up a 20-12 fourth quarter lead to the new-look Argos. Bo Levi Mitchell tossed an uncharacteristic interception in the final minute of the game, while the defence allowed McLeod Bethel-Thompson to throw for 354 yards and two scores. 6. Montreal Alouettes (6) Vernon Adams Jr. and the Montreal Alouettes had a bye in Week 1, which means we’ve yet to see what exactly they’re going to bring to the table. It’s only fitting that they didn’t move up or down in our rankings as we wait for their 2021 season debut in Edmonton. 7. Edmonton Elks (4) The Elks held Ottawa to a measly 127 yards of total offence on Saturday and still found a way to lose at home. Trevor Harris threw three interceptions and failed to get the Elks into the end zone, which is wild considering Edmonton had 35:56 in time of possession. 8. B.C. Lions (7) It’s clear that Michael Reilly’s shoulder is worse than expected, which has spooked our contributors. He may have thrown for 203 yards and a touchdown against the Riders, but his passes lacked the zip and accuracy we’ve grown accustomed to seeing. Can the Lions still compete in the tough West Division with Canadian rookie Nathan Rourke at the helm? 9. Ottawa Redblacks (9) Is it fair for a 1-0 team to be ranked this low in the power rankings? Evidently our contributors think it is. The Redblacks upset Edmonton but managed just nine offensive points, 71 passing yards, and six first downs. Until this team can prove they can move the ball at least a little better, it appears they’ll stay in the cellar.

  36. Reilly and Nichols should be IR'd ASAP. Both are injured and ineffective. Harris looked good and bad. The pick 6 that lost the Elks club the game wasn't his fault. The other 2 picks were. Masoli looked good and bad too. We didn't give him much time to throw and Banks let him down a couple of times. BLM looked rusty to me and I've heard he's battling a groin injury which could have something to do with it. MBT and Collaros looked great. Top 2 QB's of the week.
