    2021 (??) CFL Season

So apparently Labatte has told the Riders that he might consider coming back once restrictions are eased and he doesn't have to do anything like quarantining or wearing masks or anything..........imagine being this *******'s teammate...... you all went through the hoops, the rigamorole of getting this season underway safely.....this guy said "Nah, I'm not going to do it....I can't be bothered..." and then says he wants to come back once he doesn't have to do all that stuff. Can you even imagine?? I mean, their OL is such a pile of dog ****, that they desperately need him, even at his reduced abilities.......but ****.

I would trade a first rounder for a decent guard - before I'd take him back with that attitude.

Labatte was bush when he was here...Always counting the days till he could return to bush league country..Finally got his excuse when we were going to move him on the o line, and he used that to head back to the land of inter- breds ...What a team mate......NOT

  15. Rourke will have the best arm in this game. Thought BLM had nothing on his passes last week. Can loft up the deep balls and drop off a screen but nothing on those 8-10-15 yard throws that the whole game is based on. Looked a lot like how he did in the playoffs last year.

On the I am Legend thing, other than it being a movie, they took the measles virus and used it to create a cancer cure, so it was a genetically altered virus not a vaccine. On the getting info from the Internet: The guy giving you the "truth" on the Internet is likely pretty close to this guy.

  19. Yeah the whole "can the elks possibly give this one away?" thing in the fourth quarter was pretty compelling, a welcome relief from the lapo/Nichols football malpractice storyline of the first three quarters. Thank you Abdul Kanneh, new favorite non-bomber. That said, I spent a lot of the game on a second screen searching for dink jokes to post in the game thread. 20. Tonight, BC @ Calgary (Calgary -1.5) Rourke starting per depth chart, for what that's worth. Mike Reilly was limited in practice all week and is questionable to play, but is listed as the backup. For what that's worth. Takeru Yamasaki remains at PK after missing two short field goals and a convert in the game the Lions lost by 4; the Lions do have import kicker Stefan Flintoff on their practice roster. For the Stamps, Ka'deem Carey returns at starting tailback after a horrendous fourth quarter that sparked the Argo comeback last week. Whoever books this stuff has Calgary favored by a measly 1.5 points, which seems kinda low to me, but I am not much of a gambler. cfl.ca was 6-0 Stamps MBB was 37-3 Stamps Just like those tall brains above, I picked Calgary in the pickems, which means that Rourke will absolutely go off on them and the Lions will cruise 45-18. I have a perfect record to preserve!

  24. So Gray will still be the reserve. I'm a little worried on the WIL position, we're pretty much thin there as no other WIL in the roster. I guess we might see Antigha getting some plays there.

  25. That's a thin LB group, even with Antigha. Think we'll see some big fronts with Jeffcoat and Jefferson playing as rushing backers.

  36. Clearly we will have a 100 page thread arguing whether it's Nichols or plops fault. 🤣 Kongbo could probably move inside or move to wil in a pinch. Or he could come in at end and willy could go to wil. Even if they are just used as a Jack to pass rusher. But they both have lber range. Soft.

  38. plus 2 (maybe 3) big $ rec. Judge/muamba/willis/hughes can't be cheap on D. Plus two QBs making decent $ anyway. And I wouldn't call that Oline cheap. The 3 interior aren't making the min that's forsure.

  39. They just added Ray to the 6 game cause Defensive Ends definitely need healthy fingers to play...no for real, they added him to the 6 game because he has a finger injury....he's a Defensive end. So using the 6 game is one strategy they're using.

  41. So I have been worried about all the tile drainage that has been going on lately. For those who aren't familiar , a grid of perforated pipe is laid down 2.5 to 4 feet below the surface and all excess water is drained off. I have one neighbor that is doing 8,000 acres this year. ( that would be a strip a mile wide and over 12 miles long ). There are 10s of thousands of acres being drained. There has always been concerns about the quality of the water if it is just piped into ditches but my concern is our aquifers not being replenished. When I have brought it up with pro tiling guys I am always told that water from that level has no effect on aquifers.BUT that doesn't seem logical to me. So I finally quit being lazy and started to try and find info on it.So I found a White paper done in Minnesota. It involved a platoon of PhDs, geologists, Proffs, water resource people....... and here is an excerpt from that study : Knowledge gaps. Several critical knowledge gaps are identified in this paper, creating opportunities for further research to improve our understanding for better managed water resources: 1. Extent of drainage is unknown. Direct estimates of the extent of subsurface drainage do not exist in Minnesota. However, several indirect methods have been utilized to estimate subsur- face drainage, from the field-scale to county- level through the use of geographic information system (GIS) analysis and aerial photography. Based on a 2012 U.S. Geological Survey estimate of subsurface drainage extent (Nakagaki and Wieczorek, 2016), about 21% of the land area in Minnesota has some density of subsurface drain- age. 2. Effect of drainage on underlying aquifers is unknown. A basic understanding of unconfined and confined aquifers and their recharge is nec- essary to connect any hydrological effects from agricultural drainage to groundwater. The basic goal of subsurface drainage to efficiently drain saturated soils clearly alters the water balance in croplands. However, its overall effect on ground- water resources has been poorly characterized, and is in large part determined by the geology below drained areas and the arrangement of underlying aquifers. 3. Water balance shifts. An improved understand- ing of historical water balance shifts from pre- to post-drainage periods is necessary to understand long-term implications on net groundwater re- charge. Also, more direct field-scale studies and indirect modeling studies are needed to charac- terize water budgets for fields with subsurface drainage. So they conclude they don't know how much drainage there is. They don't know the effect on aquifers or the recharge of those aquifers. They don't know the long term effect of that drainage. Yet we continue full bore at it. This is F ing nuts. And know one seems to notice. And most people have no clue it's happening.
