Fact is you have to get better every year or you take a big step back. The east was brutal last year and they were never 15 win good. They weren't 12 win good. Surprises me that teams haven't adjusted to just play contain on fajardo. Keep him in the pocket what's he gonna do? Throw up a duck for the secondary to make a play on?

I'm just going to talk attendance here as I don't gamble. And from a Calgary perspective. Here in AB, most restrictions are gone. You don't have to mask or social distance & crowds are like they were pre pandemic. Very few people mask up anymore. I called the Stamps ticket office in July to express my concerns about allowing unvaccinated fans into McMahon & how I would refuse to attend a game under those circumstances. I told him that the team was making a mistake & people would stay away as they feel unsafe but he just said they're following guidelines laid out by the province. He didn't seem too concerned at all. He did say a number of STH's have deferred their tickets to next season & the team is allowing them to do that this season only but he didn't say how many. I have seen many comments on social media about Stamps fans not sure they should attend games or downright refuse to go along with no masking. As well as the unknown of who is fully vaccinated & who is not sitting next to & around you. I think thousands of fans have decided to pass on Stamps games because of the reckless decision they made to allow unvaccinated fans to attend. Then I realize the Flames owners have close ties to the UPC & it's not surprising the decision that they made. I can tell you, there is zero chance I'll attend any future Stamps games with the lack of Covid protocols for safety. If I feel that way then there are thousands of fans here who feel the same way. Teams should be doing whatever they can to make people feel that it's safe to come back but the 2 teams in Alberta aren't doing that & it's crazy not to.

I know many people with kids who won't go to games even vaccinated. Lots of people are not comfortable being at a venue with that many people. That is not a factor that is to be ignored. Obscure stat of the week in 71 years Edmonton has only started the season 0-2 with both losses at home once (2010). In 75 years Calgary has never started that way. This season Alberta teams are 0-4 at home to start the year.
