  1. I mean … less than perfection is a pretty generous way to describe his kicking so far

  4. Forde is not normally my favorite, I want more of a character in the color role and he doesn't have a ton of personality that I can detect, but I'll pay more attention next time I see him paired up with DN because on paper they'd work together. DN just seems like such a massive dork for football, love that vibe of someone who loves the game and can fill airtime agreeably. While the guy is no Cuthbert yet he's a real breath of fresh air for TSN.

  5. Some road games and staying off social media would do wonders. Fans here can be pretty ruthless when less than perfection is delivered.

  7. That's what I am saying. I don't need someone kicking 55+ through the back of the endzone. It was great having Medlock, but he is maybe the best to ever do it, we got spoiled. Just hit the stuff you should hit. Parades has made a career out of it.

  9. Funny thing when Lirim was here he had one bad year and some Posters were ready to hang him too, luckily for him he moved on stayed mentally strong and became a consistent kicker. I even remember Bob Cameron almost not making it, only the best punter in the wind ever. We gotta have patience with these young kickers....

  11. It's all mental with Leggs right now...dude has the leg to make consistent long kicks...he just needs to get his head right and get confidence....hopefully if he gets supplanted next game it doesn't really get in his head.....I hope we wait till after the break, and see if he rebounds again in Edm

    Canadian Politics

A 10% cut while costs are always rising is not insignificant, especially when you consider that CBC was at the forefront of providing digital news and media to Canadians during this time. Also take into account that CBC lost major ad revenue (anywhere from 50 to 175 million) when they lost the NHL contract in 2013. You might be surprised at how much it costs to produce a single episode for television. Now consider that CBC's mandate is to provide content for all Canadians in English and French on Radio and Television. It also provides streaming music and other digital content for free to Canadians. I won't even touch the 10 or 12 trucks comment because it goes beyond hyperbole. I know enough people who worked at CBC to know that local news programming has been slashed to the point where it is almost impossible to deliver any kind of quality news daily. As for non-news ratings, if you want more Big Brother and Real Housewives in your TV menu, have at it. I'm glad there is programming for thinking people. I'll repeat that both sides of the political spectrum are complaining about CBC bias, so maybe your problem isn't with the CBC.

  15. Remember this game?!?!? At the time, my mom and dad had their own tickets, as well as my dad's work had a pair of company seats. Most of the time the company seats went for schmoozing potential clients and stuff. However my dad had said I could have 'em. I was pumped because they were pretty good seats (40 yard line, right behind the away team - close enough when there was a big hit you could hear it). Game day comes - get a call from Pops - someone's in town... no dice on game tickets. I was super disappointed, had rearranged shifts at work and stuff for it. Being the nice guy my dad was, he bought me a pair of tickets to the game anyways (tbh, looking back, I could've done that myself, but for some reason as a kid I always thought Bomber games were more expensive than they were). So - we were in! Took my then - girlfriend at the time - it was looking to be a stinker, but I convinced her to stay and boy was it a good one. I will never forget the stadium announcer - "For those of you joining us from the parking lot..." place went absolutely bonkers, especially when the comeback was on. Fast forward to now - we are married and have happily been season ticket holders since 2011. At games, we always stay right to the bitter end, because it's the CFL and you never know. TLDR; Yes, yes I do remember that game.

  16. All I want is someone who can make 80%+ from 40 yards. 75% from 45.... The kid will get there one day but it's probably too much too soon, right now.

  18. I feel like we should have a thread to talk about certain memories, players and moments in Bombers history. Inspired by my Charles Roberts thread it opened the floodgates thinking of moment during my life time. Anyways I’ll go first.. does anyone remember this game? Bombers down 32-14 with 9 minutes left in the fourth. Alex Brinks gets the start and does nothing all game long. Jyles comes in and looks like a bonfide super star; we come back to force over time, Deon Beasley intercepts Casey printers for a pick six in over time and does a front flip into the end zone! Possibly the greatest game I ever attended. I remember my buddies wanted to leave when BC scored to make it 32-14. I convinced them to stay and the rest is history!

  19. Yeah and he flunked out of the NFL for missing some kicks too. Kickers and goalies. Gotta be patient and sometimes willing to pull a guy off the scrap heap who's maybe turned the mental corner.

  22. I really like Fajardo as a guy, seems like a good guy to have in the league but there’s absolutely no way he’s regarded as a hyped up MOP candidate if he plays for literally any other team in the league. Vernon Adams produced an incredibly comparable season to Fajardo last year and all we hear is “can he do it again? Gotta prove it for more than one season” but somehow Fajardo as a one-year wonder is getting the kind of respect VA would be lucky to get after 3 or 4 all-star worthy seasons. I genuinely think it’s a two horse race this year for MOP as of right now. Collaros and VA.

  24. Things have been really quiet in reference to agudosi. He's such an exceptional miss match candidate. On top of being freakishly big and long, he's got tremendous jumping, and agility/quickness numbers. A decent 40 time for his size too. No one who reports on the bombers talks about how these guys do in camp or practice much any more. Maybe they view him as a long term project, he didnt see a lot of reps in college. But the best teacher is play time. Id love to see a 5'10 db cover him at 6'6 with a long reach 10' plus broad and 40" plus vert. His catch radius must be as big as a redwood tree.

    2021 Blue Bombers Season

Injured and re-habbing...still technically with the team, but not using up a PR/IR spot...I bet we see him sometime after the bye week getting back to practice I'd wanna see Agudusi get a shot first, see what he has. Move him and Woli back and forth between the WR and slot position....that big dude would cause mismatches all over and surely would take the safety away from a lot of plays if we show we would target him deep down the rail

  28. The 1962 Western Final Game 3 at McMahon Stadium. Best of 3 series tied at 1 game a piece. On the last play of the game & trailing 7-6 the Bombers attempted a 17 yard FG by Gerry James. The attempt was partially blocked & fbounced into the end zone. calgary returner Harvey Wylie elected to kick the ball out of the end zone & it was blocked by Farrell Funston who fell on it for the touchdown & a 12-6 win. The LAST PLAY of the game!!!

  32. Normy was one of my favorite comedians. So glad I got see his show a few years back at Rumors. It was supposed to be about 50 minutes or so but he wanted to keep on going and ended up performing for an extra 45 minutes. I watch his clips on YouTube everyday. There is one site - I'm not Norm - that posts something everything day, so that normally sends me down another Norm rabbit hole. A few of my favorite Norm stuff is his visits with Conan and his interactions with Super Dave.

    Covid-19

I share your frustration. I know of a person who has had necessary heart surgery delayed due lack of ICU beds caused, in part, by COVID patients, many of whom are anti-vaxxers. Those who say their vaccination status affects only themselves have their heads buried so far up their ass they'll never see daylight.

    Canadian Politics

So the CPC will eliminate advertising on CBC TV to prepare it for sale to private interests that will require advertising. It doesn't take a genius to realize they want to destroy what's left of what they started destroying under Harper. Local programming is almost unwatchable, not because of bias - but because local news programming and staff were slashed under Harper. You need staff to create strong programming and it sure doesn't start and end with reporters. I hear claims of liberal bias in regards to the CBC, but I hear equal claims that they are too conservative and need to get rid of what's left of Harper's board appointees. If both sides of the spectrum are complaining, it tells me that they're not as biased as some people suggest.

    US Politics

If you dance on a tight rope enough times , sooner or later you fall. It's going to happen if they don't stop the silliness. And when it does things won't be silly at all. It will be downright ugly, perhaps for more than the USA.

  44. My most lasting memory of Bigg Mike was playing against Toronto where he broke through to the DB level and it was just him and Orlando Steinauer. You could tell Steinauer was like "oh ****" with 270lbs of man-meat coming at him full speed. And ofcourse he goes for the legs cause thats all you can do as a 170lbs DB. Sure enough Sellers hurdles him like a b**** and Steinauer doesnt even lay a finger on him. Man watching Sellers was fun.

  45. How about Punter Duncan O’Mahony who signed with the Bombers in 2006. Made his flight to Calgary but then disappeared and never attended camp. Was released. Signed with Calgary in 2007 but was traded to Edmonton and released. Signed by Winnipeg again but broke his toe in the middle of the night in his hotel room forcing the Bombers to start Serna. I dont think he ever kicked a ball for the Bombers but has a GC ring with Calgary as a rookie lol

  46. One of the more obscure Bomber moments actually involves Roberts. I was at the first practice after the team signed Onterrio Smith. There was a lot of hype over Smith so the media wanted to get a few words from Blink after practice. Well, I guess Blink was pissed over the signing as he ran away from the media scrum and hid under the old grand stands at Canad Inns. Smith never recovered for an injury and was cut a short time later. Not sure what Roberts would have done if Smith ended up actually suiting up for the team.

    Covid-19

Just want to test this here to see if I'm asking relevant questions to hardcore freedom of choice lurkers here. To any anti-vaccine lurkers whose main argument it's their individual right not to take it and no one can regulate them taking it, where's your line when you acknowledge regulating something is more important than your individual rights? Drunk driving, seat belt wearing what? How do you determine that line of yours or is your line determined based on your hopes and beliefs even when facts contradict them? What's your definition of critical thinking? Don't be a sheep, do your research, wake up? Did I do that right? How do you determine what a fact is? If you're so committed to not taking this FDA approved vaccine to help curb this pandemic are you willing to tell healthcare teams what healthcare you need when you need it? Step up.
